This scene if we looked closely it was not as bad as people perceived it. For me this just confirm the depth of relationship between Qui Gon and Obi Wan, the way Qui Gon avoid looking at Obi Wan tell us that he don’t want to see the pain he caused and he hope that Obi Wan understand him enough to support him, and Obi Wan did understand him and support him even half heartedly.Obi Wan did confessed to Anakin later that he never dislike Anakin it just at that moment he was JEALOUS of all the attention that Anakin received from Qui Gon( Obi Wan had always a little possessive over Qui Gon). So for me even it painful still it gives me a little comfort to know that they loves each other deeply.
