Buttercup is very Cass when she‘s pissed/ overwhelmed by to many people breathing around her. And the fact Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly appeared made my heart leap with joy bc she‘s one of my sources of inspiration for Cass‘ grandma ☺️

The First Day of My Life

And then, for the first time, something new happened. There was a loud clunking noise, echoing through the cold chamber, followed by a creaking as the door in front of her began to open. A thin strip of blinding white light appeared in the crack of the door, causing her to squint. The dark figure above her retreated up into the high ceiling, and the bar of light began to widen and creep forward along the floor. She was frozen, stunned by this sudden change.

Her heart began racing with a mix of fear and anticipation. Two things she hadn't realized she was capable of feeling, and it thrilled her. The bar of light reached her right hand and she gasped. It was so warm. 'This' is what warm 'feels' like! Another fascinating new sensation bloomed in her chest— hope.

So logistically this doesn't quite make sense where she is looking and the light is hitting and I had a few shots with her hand in it, but I liked this angle the best. She turned out looking younger in this one which I needed cause she is supposed to be 9 when this takes place.

Liya Chang vs The Fallen Angel

I’m not sure if anyone will join this picrew but I love the concept! I interpreted it as the duality of Liya’s character. So, on the left is her normal persona holding a fresh flower but on the right, her fallen angel persona is carrying a wilted flower…which represents how Liya’s morality became corrupted as time went by (thanks to the keepers, sebastian and ancient magic…)

But it can be interpreted in many different ways!

And of course, The Fallen Angel concept is something very special and dear to Liya’s character! (I have a whole post on that haha)

@colettening I saw your post and I LOVE the concept! I also really love what you did with it for your MC! Sadly this piccrew doesn't have the right haircolor for my Ravenclaw MC Tessa, but it does fit perfectly for my Hufflepuff MC Leah! I interpreted this piccrew as a present and past reference. My poor darling Leah has come from an orphanage with no idea who her parents are, struggling to get by. This is presented on the right. But through her experiences at Hogwarts and getting together with Sebastian, she became more cheerful and found a purpose in life, which shaped her into the person she is today. This is presented on the left. So although she will never forget where she came from, her present self has given her past self a place in her heart.

I went for a version of Darling of past and present. She lived a very lawless and violent childhood, but held onto a certain innocence. Things took a turn and she was brought to Hogwarts. Now, there is a lot more structure in her life, but she has also become much more guarded.
