A/N: Watched the second season of the live action, spat this out the day after. Don't let the timeline fool you i've been proof reading this whole time teehee
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Working for the leader of an organization thatās motto was basically mystery to the extreme had itās downsides.
You were thousands of miles away from your family and couldnt call or write home and even if you could you would no doubt be restricted from saying anything about your work or anything even closely related to it. Your ācoworkersā if you could even call them that were obnoxious at best and murderous at their worst. One wrong move had them suspecting the worse and puffing their feathers like a bird in danger and they came to your meeting room on the daily with guns in their boots and knives in their belts.
You were no stranger to danger in this line of work.
But the pros certainly were there as well, you couldnāt deny.
While you couldnāt talk to your family they still received a portion of your pay every month, enough berries that they could live comfortably while barely making a dent in the berries left for yourself. You never had to worry about housing or food or living expenses, the company took care of it all to keep the discretion. And you figured spending every day getting to stand next to and ogling at Sir Crocodile himself was a pretty big pro for this job.
He was dangerous, you knew that from the first moment you had been escorted to his office and given your job description. His eyes had not a spark, but a shine to them, like you had caught the light on a dagger. He was lethal to the worst of them. But this was his business, where the danger hid behind words to clients and waited until they were in back alleys to show itself. In this one room, he was a business man above all else.
Thatās what you saw everyday as his secretary, this cut throat business man dealing with sixty issues a day and resolving them all with the flick of a pen across paper.
It was no wonder he smoked so much, the stress must have been insane and yet he handled it well and the smell of the smoke had long since stopped burning in your nose. You were used to it by now as well as who you expected to see in a day.
You had the routine down after a year of working here; He arrived precisely on time, like always, never taking any meetings in the morning except for Miss All Sunday who would waltz in to keep him informed on the millions blunders in the night. He would have lunch delivered to his office from the casino kitchen upstairs and then open his doors to his associates sniveling for more power and time and the balding bufoons of the casino who had endless trivial matters for him to sign on. At two oāclock, Mr One would appear to have words about the numbered associates and at two fifteen you would be delivered the mound of paperwork that you would have to sort through, get signed, and then delivered back to whoever needed it by the end of the day.
The watch on your wrist said 8:46 pm. You still had a stack of papers in your arms and while it was noticeably less heavy than when you had started running around hours ago, it was heavier than any normal day would have been. Something must have been in the air today, it seemed everybody in this damned casino had something that needed to be looked at.
You sighed at the time, figuring you would be here at least another hour for these papers. Your feet had been killing you for the past hour, heels clicking condescendingly on the polished floors. These new heels were murder on your feet but they had been so graciously gifted to you after their previous owner.. Left them here (You were confident that the owner had not left the shoes nor even left the building alive but you pushed that down as you would never turn away a pair of free shoes) and youād never admit it but hearing Crocodile himself tell you to wear the shoes had sent a jolt deep down inside of you, something hot that landed just underneath your stomach.
You tried to clear those thoughts away as you approached the doors to his office, balancing the papers in one hand and knocking only once before entering. This was practically your office too with how much time you spent in it now a days.
As usual, Crocodile sat behind his desk, cast in shadows save the lamp on his desk and the light from his cigar. He had been in meetings all day, his coat was still draped over his shoulders and he lounged with his fingers pressed against his temple, looking for some kind of relief from the idiots he no doubt had to talk to today. You barely registered Miss All Sunday by his desk in her own āsunday bestā, you instead found yourself focusing on the strand of his hair that had fallen in front of his face, the way that the smoke from his cigar billowed around his features.
You watched him slowly fix his gaze on you through hooded eyes, that shine of something oh so dangerous finding purchase on your figure. He dismissed his right hand associate with a simple flick, closing his eyes once more. You could see even from the doorway the vein that seemed to throb against his temple.
Miss All Sunday took her leave leisurely, her boots making dull thuds against the floor. You pulled a file from within your stack before she could pass, handing it off to her with little flourish.
āYour file for your next.. Mission,ā You tried not to let your voice betray you, although after all this time she was still the one person you couldnāt fool. Maybe it was the way she looked at you, with those eyes of hers, like even she couldnāt tell whether she wanted to eat you alive or not.
āThank you, (Y/N)~ā She floated past you with a smile and for a brief moment you felt like a mouse caught in the grasp of a viper. She floated past you before the feeling could truly take hold, leaving only you and Crocodile alone after the door thudded close.
You didnāt waste time standing about, you were sure you wanted to get back to your quarters just as much as he did and that meant getting these papers sorted out as quick as possible.Ā
Your heels seemed to echo infinitely more in the room as you approached his side. It seemed like he had melted into the chair from the stress of today, though even slouched his frame seemed imposing. He sat with his foot propped up on his knee, the top two buttons of his shirt open to the air. Your stomach did a flip.
You took a deep breath to compose yourself as you deposited your papers in front of him.
āThis section all needs signatures, itās just the continuation for the casino renovations on floor four and this is the lawyers paperwork for that debacle with the mote.ā He didnāt move yet, though he allowed his gaze to fall on the papers as you briefed him on each section. You felt a sting run up the nerve in your leg, your new shoes enacting revenge on your heels in mutiny.
You couldnāt help but lean against the side of his desk as you spoke, trying not to let on to how much your feet were aching. You watched his eyes flick to your hip first, then down to your shoes before they dragged up your body to meet your gaze. Your voice almost faltered at the look in his eyes. Almost.
āWhy donāt you have a seat,ā
His voice was more gravely than usual and it caught you off guard. There were no other seats in his office, unless he was talking about his desk or his own chair that he lounged in now. Both were quite preposterous ideas to you, a slight heat inflaming your cheeks at his words.
āOh-Sir, Iāll be fine, itās no problem,ā
Though you turned your attention back to the papers on the desk, desperately trying to remember what you had been explaining before, you could feel that his eyes never moved from your frame, he didnāt even seem to blink as he took a drag of his cigar languidly.
āWhat do you do when I tell you to get these papers signed..?ā
You stopped moving instantly, your brows furrowing ever so slightly.
āI⦠I get them signed..?ā
āAnd what do you do when I tell you to bring me lunch?ā
āI bring you lunch..ā You gulped nervously at his questions, seeing where he was going. You hadnāt so much as misaligned a staple in your time here, he had never a reason to reprimand or question what you did for him until now apparently.
āSo what do you do when I tell you to sit?ā
The air in the room had gone suddenly still, you could feel only your heart beating rapidly in your chest.
ā.. I sitā
āGood girl,ā
He said it so casually, putting his cigar back in his mouth with something unreadable in his eyes and the hint of a smile on his lips. Inside it felt like you had been struck by lighting, a jolt running through your limbs and causing your heart to suddenly break out in a sprint.
You stood there for just a moment, a franticness rushing through you so much so that you had forgotten about the ache in your feet, all you could focus on instead was a sudden new ache between your legs. You couldnāt help but clench your legs together at the realization.
He was still watching you, waiting, but when you had decided his desk was the best course of action and hoisted yourself up to sit on the hardwood he still did not avert his gaze. You became suddenly aware of your choice of clothing today, wanting to match the heels you had picked a short tight pencil skirt and a blouse. It hadnāt seemed an issue with the clothing his associates liked to wear, but now you felt underdressed.
You crossed your legs fast, clearing your throat and feigning nonchalantness as you tried to continue, tried to keep some semblance of professionalism between you and your boss. Yes, he was your boss, you had to remember that. You had to remember that this was a Warlord of the Sea, one of the seven deadliest pirates in the world, he held your life in his hands.
āS-so, these just need to be looked over before tomorrow, the advertising manager has a meeting at 1:30 to go over these budgets-ā
Your breath hitched in your throat as you felt the faintest touch against your leg. His touch that you barely felt by how soft he was ghosting over your skin. But you felt the heat of it and then the chill as he brushed over miniscule hairs. He started just barely against your calf, raising up to brush past your knee. His voice pulled you out of your own thoughts.
āContinue,ā
You felt hot despite your chill, you wanted to move away out of fear that if you didnāt you would unwillingly move closer. Your mind was racing, thoughts too fast to decipher anything except for the feel of his fingers against your thigh.
āUm- I had these drafted up a-as an idea for the next fiscal year⦠along with the roadmaps for those,ā
His eyes bore into your own and that glimmer took on a look of satisfaction, you noted. Your breath faltered with every intake, a clash of your will to keep calm and your desire. He had leaned forward in his ministrations, cigar forgotten as his fingers seemed to catch the hem of your skirt. He was closer to you than he had ever been before, you could smell the smoke on his breath and the scent of his cologne.
Just like that, you felt his hand leave your thigh, out of the corner of your eye you watched him grab the pen sitting next to you before he leaned back in his chair. He was silent as he clicked the pen and started signing papers. You mirrored his silence, partially against your will as you were worried your voice would betray you again.
There was a knock at the door and you couldnt help but jump at the sound. You remembered yourself, the position you were in. Before you could slide off the desk, ready to excuse yourself for whatever important meeting he probably had, his hand grabbed at your waist. It was sudden and firm and for a moment the only thought that tumbled around in your head was just how big his hand was, the veins that criss crossed itās landscape now that you were looking at it up close..
āI didnāt say you could leave,ā
He watched you nod silently before dropping his cigar into the ashtray on his desk and admitting whoever was at the door. You stilled, listening to the door open and the soles of shoes against the floor. You watched Crocodiles demeanor darken, hardening as he watched one of the floor managers for his casino walk in. The man started talking, some useless drivel even to you. It was easy to drown out and even easier to ignore once Crocodileās hand found itself back on your waist.
Another chill shot down your body except this time there was nothing you could do. You were sure any noise from you would disrupt his meeting, but it was becoming increasingly difficult with his thumb rubbing soft circles right on your hip, almost mindlessly. His grip tightened for only a moment, sliding down to the flesh of your thighs again. This wasnāt the subtle touch that it was before, it was driving you crazy.
His hand moved slowly further, completely out of sight of the manager in front of him until his fingertips were back at the hem of your skirt.
āA-and sir, if I could just bring to your attention that the west floor staff have been asking for those extra days off that their end of year bonuses said,ā
His fingers brushed over the tender skin on your inner thighs and with no warning, pressed against your clit through the thin fabric of your underwear. You jolted, a sound you could only describe as a squeak escaping you. You instantly felt heat in your cheeks, looking over to already see his eyes trained on you.
āKeep quiet,ā
It was barely a whisper, you didnāt even think that the manager groveling behind you heard it. You could only take a breath to steel yourself, watching his green eyes flick back towards the man in front of him.
You werenāt listening anymore, you couldnāt even fake trying to. His thumb moved in deliberate slow circles again, dragging the fabric across your skin. Beside you, he let out a slow breath, letting his index finger find the seam of your underwear and begin pulling it to the side.
You could feel the metal of his rings against your thighs, they were cold and you had to stop yourself from jumping at the feeling again. His finger traced around your hole with the same tenderness as his touch on your leg before, so light you would barely have realized he was there.
He twisted his hand to push your legs further apart, just enough so that in one fell swoop his index finger found purchase and slid inside of you.
Your eyes fluttered shut, a noiseless gasp dying in your throat at the feeling. You were undoubtedly wet and from the smile that graced his lips he could feel it too. His eyes turned hazy as he slowly started to pull his finger in and out of you, antagonizingly slow, like he was feeling every crevice inside of you. Before long his thumb returned to itās spot on your clit, continuing to circle the area in addition to his index fingers minestrations.
āA-and so, if we could continue with my plan, Sir Crocodile, tomorrow would be ideal for us to-ā
āConsider it done,ā His voice boomed through the room without seeming like he even tried, cutting the manager off without a second thought,ā Now get out,ā
You watched out of the corner of your eye as the man floundered for just a moment before bowing his head and beelining towards the door. No sooner was he out of the room, shutting the door with a resounding thud behind him, did Crocodile turn to you, giving you his full attention with that look in his eyes and a smile on his lips.
āSomething wrong, darling..?ā
He slid two fingers into you this time with no time to recover and all you could do was throw your head back with a low moan. The image of his hand on your waist was flashing through your brain, how big it had looked against your body. You were pulled back to reality when you felt his fingers curl in you, hitting the spot that made your mouth practically water at the feeling.
āC-crocodile..!ā Returning your gaze to him, you found him standing in front of you, his figure suddenly towering over you. A shadow had fallen across his face but his eyes still shone.
āI asked if anything was wrong,ā
āNothing, s-sir..ā Your voice came out soft and breathy against your ears and you watched him close his eyes at the sound, almost like he was savoring it. You could feel yourself leaning into him, your eyes flicking down towards his lips.
āSuch a good girl, staying quiet for me,ā His shoulders slumped forward, allowing himself to be eye level with you, practically nose to nose. He seemed to be taking in every feature of your face, his eyes scanning strategically the furrows in your brow to each quiver of your lip. He watched with a curiosity almost as you writhed under his fingers.
He started a steady pace with his fingers, taking his time as he studied the expressions on your face as a coil started to wind within you. Another breathy moan escaped you as it all started to become too much. His words were lighting a fire inside you and his fingers were coals in the flames. All of the sudden his face was inches away from your own, his breath mingling with yours, you could have reached up to him had release not been just in your grasp. You could only take heavy breaths, your whole body starting to tingle with the feeling.
His warmth left you right before the precipice, the feeling inside of you simmering down all to quick and leaving only a feeling of annoyance. Your thighs were wet from your own slick, your underwear was even worse off.
In front of you, you watched him back away, looking to you like he was admiring his work; your flushed cheeks and bitten lips down to the mess you had made on the hardwood of his desk.
Hooded eyes finally landed back on your gaze, holding it while he brought his hand to his lips and slipped a single finger into his mouth. You watched your juices disappear behind his lips, certain now that the look in his eyes was one of hunger, like he could devour you right here. You clenched your legs together once again.
āIāll see you bright and early tomorrow at 8, (Y/N), donāt be late..ā
He turned and with languid strolls, waltzed to the door and took his exit, leaving you alone in his office with a new problem to deal with when you got to your quarters.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You're sitting across his thighs, as stiff as a board, and his hand slips it's way under your shirt to rub over your back. How could you have been reduced to this? A lap pet for someone like him? It didn't help that you'd practically fallen in love with him despite his many... characters flaws.
His fingers trace over your tummy and ribs leaving goosebumps in their wake. He hums a dark chuckle at the way you squirm. You're one of his biggest spoils, one of the sweetest rewards he ever got to sink his teeth into. He adores you. His hand leaves your shirt and comes up to your jaw where he tilts your head back to look at him.
Your lips part as you take in the sight of Mr. Ze- no that's not right. Sir Crocodile. His black eyes trailing over your figure, his grip on you dominant yet not painful. The cigar in his mouth burns slowly and smoke pours from him making you choke as it hits your face. Your eyes water and your throat tightens.
The door to his office opens but neither of you move to see who it is nor even address their arrival. Croc's hand releases your jaw and he runs his bent knuckle down the front of your throat, then back up, then down again, as if he's stroking a cat. You're docile in his hold, he finds it cute.
"Didn't know you'd gotten a new plaything," it's Mihawk who entered the room. He's standing in the doorway, watching, admiring perhaps?
You don't recognize the voice but Croc does.
"A pretty thing too."
Croc's eyes shift from yours to the visitor but you remain still. Mihawk walks forward and settles himself on the edge of the desk where he can get a better look at you. You feel Croc rumble as he chuckles.
"Mihawk," he finally acknowledges.
You flinch. Both seem to catch it.
You clear your throat, "Mihawk? The former warlord?"
Mihawk lifts a brow at Crocodile. The movement on your throat stops and Croc takes your jaw again to turn your head towards the man. Mihawk is watching you like a predator. He's simply waiting for his chance to pounce upon you. His golden eyes are like sharpened blades that could split one in two.
Croc's voice cuts the tension, "Cute aren't they? A former Marine too. Sent to... what was it again?"
"G-gain intel," you manage to spit out through squished cheeks.
Croc shifts in his seat so that you topple backwards into his chest and rests his chin on your shoulder. More smoke puffs out in your face.
"Right. Gain intel," he practically purrs, it's obvious he's making fun of you, teasing the fact that you now find yourself in such an interesting predicament, "doin' real good at that hm?"
You flush and Mihawk cocks his head slightly in intrigue. That explains the way you said his name. You must know of him from when you were on the front lines against the pirates.
"Now look at them," Croc takes the cigar from his lips and places it in an ashtray on his desk.
Before he can finish whay he was going to say, Mihawk speaks, "a little bunny caught by the hunters."
His words and tone make you shiver. Croc can feel it radiate through his chest. You glance up at him to find a conniving smirk that implies he's up to no good. He licks his lips before tucking his head down into where your shoulder meets your neck. He places a wet kiss there before biting you enough to leave a mark. You jolt in his lap and cry out his name.
Mihawk's eyes still remain on you.
Your hands fly to Croc's forearm and you whine. This type of thing is normal for him but not... with an audience. Had he gotten jealous? Frustrated perhaps at Mihawk's intrusion?
"Come now Mihawk," he mumbles into your skin, "have a taste."
Your eyes fly to Mihawk who doesn't seem the least bit thrown off by the offer. Instead, he stands and your heart races behind your ribcage. Now you do feel like a small animal of prey surrounded by predators. A bunny.
Mihawk shrugs his coat off and steps around the desk with hunger in his eyes, "Don't mind if I do."
āSoft Lips
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠Arranged marriage was already horrible. An arranged marriage to Sir Crocodile? Even worse. You were practically a caged bird, the moment you signed the marriage papers your fate was sealed.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠Crocodile ignored you for the most part, paying no mind to your glares of pure hatred towards him as he sat comfortably at his desk.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠Your stares of hatred quickly turned into observations of him. His small habits, his ticks, everything about him.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠You noticed how he quirked his brow in interest when something beneficial happened to him. How his fingers tapped on the desk in a methodical manner when he was on call. The way his lips twitched slightly when he lit his hundredth cigar for the dayā¦
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠Oh, his lips⦠Thatās what you paid the most attention to. It was fascinating how a man who smoked as much as him had smooth looking lips.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠It didnāt take long for Crocodile to catch on to your stares. A sly smirk playing on his lips as he stared back at your lips.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠āWhat? Want a smoke?ā Heād ask, casual, calm, collected. Like a Crocodile waiting for itās prey to fall into its trap.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠āNo⦠I donāt smoke.ā Youād reply, looking away. But Crocodile didn't stop staring back at your lips, equally as interested.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠A deep, low laugh left him, his body moving up from his chair and coming towards you. His golden hook slowly reached your chin, tipping your head up so youād have no choice but to look at him and only him.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠āThen you want something else of mine, hm?ā His lips were in that sly grin, that grin that said āIām getting what I want.ā And you? You caved. You wanted nothing more than to feel those smooth, plump lips of his.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠His lips felt like pure heaven. Soft to the touch, yet his kisses were rough and demanding. His lips connected perfectly with yours, the kisses making sweet smack sounds every time you both went in for another.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠Wet, sloppy kisses trailed down from your lips down to your jawline, going even lower and lower. Crocodile took his time, as if he were devouring every single inch of you. Wanting his lips to make contact with every part of your skin.
ā¾āāā±ā ā¢ā ⢠Crocodileās lips werenāt just soft. They were meant to devour. To take what he wanted. To savor everything that came his way.
a/n: shout out to @gelataisa for making that post pointing out how soft crocoās lips looked! ty for sparking this fic idea!! <3

šPope Codyš
The medical staff donāt bother trying to get Pope to leave anymore. Saying āvisiting hoursā around that man is a quick ticket to trouble, and security has better things to do than try to muscle a crying, dishevelled, currently nonspeaking mess out of the building every night
The first week, Pope barely moves. He stares into the middle distance and tries unsuccessfully to arrange his features into something resembling a living person whenever his brothers stop by, waiting for them to give up on trying to get him to eat the takeout they brought or come out for a little fresh air. He even considers asking one of your nurses for a urinal, but he canāt make his mouth move even an inch. He spends way too long in between forcing himself to get up and use the bathroom, and he realizes distantly heās probably setting himself up for a kidney stone or something
He canāt stop staring at you, watching your chest rise and fall in time with the ventilatorās clicks. The only task heās been able to bring himself to complete is every two days, unwinding the braids in your hair, brushing it, and putting the braids back in. One of the CNAs told him helpfully that braids are the best way to keep a patientās hair manageable for when they wake up
Itās been almost three weeks, and Deran finally manages to get through to Pope. No one is dumb enough to accidentally say āifā you wake up anymore. Baz said it once, and Pope stood up, expressionless and wordless, and threw him across the room hard enough that the patient board on the wall fell down. So Deran is cautious and patient when he explains to Pope that when you wake up, youāre going to be really upset to find that he hasnāt been taking care of himself at all
Pope sinks into a routine after that. He manages to get you moved to a room that has a visitorās bed and a bathroom with a shower in it. He forces himself to resolutely lay down and at least have his eyes closed from 10pm to 6am every day; he even starts using that meditation app you tried to show him a few months ago, and he can pretty reliably get at least a few hours of sleep most nights. He showers at 6:30am exactly, every other day, and is done before the shift change starts at 7. He waits until your day team has come through, checked you, and put their information on the board before he goes down to the cafeteria for breakfast. He gets lunch brought up to your room, setting his tray as close to your bed as possible while he eats and leaves on one of your tv shows. He goes on a six-block walk every non-shower day at 4pm, propping up a tablet he had Deran bring so it can see both you and your monitor, and he leaves it connected to FaceTime with his phone while he walks. He still canāt usually bring himself to eat dinners without you, but sometimes heāll accept takeout if one of the boys brings it and eats with him. Of course, he still braids your hair like clockwork
He is holding your hand and managing to pay a little attention to the improv comedy show heās got playing on your roomās tv when your hand pulls out of his. The ventilator clicking turns to a harsh whine as Pope jumps up in a flash to hold your hands down - youāre fighting to grab the tube, and he knows if you yank it out you could hurt yourself. He canāt let go of you to press the call button, so his ragged voice that heās barely used in six weeks is just croak-screaming for help. As a few staff descend into the room and begin preparing you for extubation, Pope is knelt next to the bed with his face pressed against your ear, whispering āitāll be okay, youāre okay, itās alrightā while you cling to his hands
After youāve gone through the ordeal of extubation, post-coma imaging, nebulizers, and a few excruciating rounds of dry-heaving, youāre finally sitting up against a little mountain of pillows and smiling weakly at Pope, who is looking at you like heās seeing a sunrise for the first time and who absolutely will not let go of your hand. His brothers are all there and chattering at you and amongst themselves, but the two of you can only really see and hear each other
The few weeks of your recovery feel like nothing to Pope against the agony that was your actual coma - he continues to keep some of his routines, especially the sleeping (which is filled with significantly more actual sleep) and the showering, but he doesnāt eat any meals without you anymore, and the only fresh air he gets is when heās allowed to wheel you down to the hospital garden, where he spends the whole time either standing behind your chair gently rubbing your head and neck and shoulders, or sitting on the fountain wall directly in front of you while you play with his hands
šTitus Danforthš
The very first thing Titus does when heās informed that youāre in a coma is summon The Lawyer. Titus is all composure (on the outside), calmly inquiring as to what sacrifices he needs to make, or what alterations to the familyās deal he needs to make in order to bring you back to full health, immediately
The Lawyer gives a tight, implacable smile as he informs Titus that, unfortunately, it is his name in the book, not yours; he who holds Mr. Le Bailās favor, not you. In a wordless flash with murder in his eyes, Titus has his hands fisted in The Lawyerās lapels and is pressing him against the temple wall, ignoring the rumbling roar echoing around them both. After tense, silent moments, Titusās voice cracks as he quietly says āthereās nothing?ā The Lawyerās face is a bit sad as he shakes his head and vanishes
Deflated, beside himself, and utterly disgusted at his inability to fix this situation, Titus becomes all movement, every day, radiating stress and anger. He tries to sit when Ursula comes into your room, often standing up to get back to pacing within five minutes, offering her only grunts and dismissive monosyllables when she tries to take his mind anywhere else. He cries when she puts a gentle hand to your head before leaving him alone with you again
He does take care of himself, remembering to eat and shower and even occasionally taking a brisk walk out on the greens. He knows his family pays the private medical staff enough that they will care for you in his absence and will get him immediately if anything changes. Despite that, he does have his bed brought into your room; he sleeps fitfully, often waking to roll over and watch you with tears trailing down onto his neck and staining his pillow
Heās so underdressed. Ursula hasnāt seen him in anything more put together than a pajama shirt - a pajama shirt! - and soft slacks since you first went under. Heās even been seen shuffling around the halls with no socks a few times
Titus reads to you so, so much. Heās read to you enough of the classics and highbrow literature heās been taught to prefer that heās finally moved on to the modern mystery novels you have scattered around the manor. Theyāre better than heād have thought. And when heās sure no one will be by anytime soon, he carefully curls on the bed next to you and hums whatever tunes occur to him, one arm tucked under his head and the other hand gently stroking up and down your arm
You wake up during one of these moments, the warmth of Titusās chest pressed against your side grounding you when your instinct is to fight the tube down your throat and the air itās pushing into your lungs. He hardly moves an inch as he reaches above himself to press the call button mounted to the wall, immediately returning his hand to yours to brush his thumb against the inside of your wrist while the two of you wait
His eyes are shining when he comes to sit next to your bed after youāre fully awake and sipping some warm tea through a straw. āI could hear you, you know,ā you whisper, your throat still feeling raw. āReally?ā he asks, leaning forward with the tiniest hint of one of his dimples starting to show. āI very much hoped so.ā
The next morning, Titus is curled against you again, a bit less carefully now that you arenāt hooked up to anything, unconsciously matching his breathing to yours while he runs the backs of his fingers down the middle of your chest over and over again and waits for your eyes to flutter open
šDr. Jack Abbotš
The journey to your coma is fraught, and Jack is there the entire time. It is he and Robby who make the call together to have you medically induced when another head CT shows that the swelling in your brain hasnāt gone down much at all
Jack grips your hand hard as the anaesthesiologist pushes the propofol, staring at the screen of your cardiac monitor with a deep line between his brows and struggling to keep his breathing even. He knows how this works, he knows whatās happening and what could happen, and quite frankly heād rather be standing in the middle of a train track than thinking about everything he knows right now
He compartmentalizes well like he always does, managing to keep his mind solely on his patients and his work while heās on the clock, and even managing to keep his mind blank while he takes a quick shower and scarfs something down after his shifts. But he doesnāt go home anymore. He lives in scrubs now, exchanging new ones with the machine upstairs every now and again
He holds your hand every second heās in your room, sleeping upright in one of the shitty rubber armchairs and stirring anytime someone comes in to record your vitals. When heās awake, Jack talks to you all about his last shift, rattling off stories like heās charting just so if you can hear him thereās something to hear. Heās grateful when other members of staff come in to chat with him, especially when they stop trying to convince him to go home for a bit. He hopes the quiet conversation of multiple voices is comforting for you
When you have a seizure on the fourth day under, he breaks. Jack Abbot is crumpled on the floor in the corner, having had to scoot out of the way of other physicians who are suddenly capable of more than he is right now. Heās so tired, and his back hurts so bad, and he feels like a giant ball of pain and fear, watching the monitor announce your runs of v-tach and hearing everyone else in the room as if theyāre underwater, or as if he is
When youāre stable again, Robby kneels painfully down to put his arm over Jackās shoulders. āI know, brother, I know,ā he keeps saying every time Jackās eyes, bottomless and dark, turn up to his again with too many questions in them
His next shift, Jack has to be pulled backwards by Shen when he nearly takes a swing at a drunk patient whoās saying to Ellis some of the most vile shit heās ever heard. That night, he breaks down crying standing next to your bed, pleading with you to please wake up, please, itās all he can think about
He still sleeps holding your hand, but someone has managed to procure him a cot so he can at least be horizontal. He takes a day off at Robbyās insistence, spending most of it taking bursts of naps in between zoning out to shitty police procedurals
Youāre showing signs of fighting the vent on day 8, and after a fairly promising CT, the decision is made to let you crawl back to consciousness. Robby gently but firmly forces Jack to exit the building when you start to wake, knowing that the often chaotic, worrying, painful process will be too much for his friend to bear witness. After several hours of vibrating in the ambulance bay, Jack is finally given the green light to come see you
āHey, sunshine,ā he sighs as soon as he closes the curtain in your room, beelining to hold both your hands. āHey yourself,ā you croak out. āDana told me you havenāt left.ā āWow, no loyalty from day shifters, huh?ā he says unseriously, but youāre not laughing with him. āJack,ā you whisper, squeezing his hands. āPlease go home.ā
His face falls and his mouth turns down at the corners. āYou want me to?ā he asks in a small voice. āNo,ā you answer honestly, ābut I need you to. Just for a day, so you can shower in a real shower and sleep in a real bed. I canāt focus on getting better if Iām worried youāre like. On the edge.ā Youāre breathing hard from saying so much at once so soon. He looks mournfully into your eyes for a few seconds before nodding reluctantly
24 hours later - and it is exactly 24 hours, itās all heād grant you - youāre both looking distinctly more robust and awake. Youāre actually chatting with Mel, whoās got some various finger foods spread across the tray between you and is blushing furiously. Jack is fairly certain he heard Langdonās name before he opened the door, right before he heard you start giggling
Heās back to being patient and strong and competent as he helps you recover, especially in his gentle manipulation of your weakened muscles as he helps you do your PT several times a day. You canāt help touching him affectionately every chance you get, and you donāt care whoās watching when you do it anymore. He doesnāt seem to care either, leaning into your touches with his eyes half closed and a tiny smile that actually shows a few of his teeth
When youāre finally out of the hospital, he insists on you staying at his place āuntil youāre back on your feet,ā and you canāt even begin to think of saying no

18+ Titus Danforth x fem!reader ā no spoilers!
Titus prefers you sit on his lap while he smokes his cigars.
He loves the feeling of your weight and soft curves on his thighs.
Sometimes, the two of you sit in silence while he smokes, letting the events of the day settle in, especially if there was a rather tough kill.
Other times, he can't help but wind his arms around your waist and lock you in his grip. He'd fondle your breasts, ass and everything in between while grinding his cock against you.
He'd order you to untie his ascot and put your hands behind your back. With arms securely tied by silk fabric, you're vulnerable and subject to his capricious whim.
"You're so pretty like this." Titus muses with a timbre like grinding stones. "Bound and at my mercy."
Smoke billows from his lips as he plucks the cigar from his mouth. The bitter vapor burns your eyes and makes your throat seize.
"The sweetest offering I've ever received."

Ursula is conversing with guests in the other room when she hears a loud crash and screams. She excuses herself and rushes to the other drawing room to see Titus straddling one of the guests, throwing punch after punch at him.
"TITUS!" She yells out and he doesn't pause. He keeps punching the guy under him, "What the fuck! Stop this!" she looks around the room and sees you watching your husband. A glass of wine in your hand and an amused expression on your face.
Ursula marches up to you, "What did you do?" She sneers at you.
