I love science but I don't worship it. As a Christian steeped in the reformed tradition of Protestantism, I believe that our brain and senses are divine gifts which we are commanded to use in the stewardship and understanding of our universe. It is not the job of faith to destroy science. Many of the earliest scientific discoveries were made by people of faith.

Neither is it the job of science to destroy religious faith, philosophy, or theology. Critics who trash faith by calling it a delusion or equating it to children having an invisible friend are guilty of cruelty and bigotry.

Faith increases my sense of awe and wonder at the majesty and immensity of our universe. It also teaches me the value of stewardship, pluralism, and egalitarianism in my relationships with creation, my communities, and my fellow sentient beings!
