i would just like to say that this was not the next miracle on ice, the miracle on ice was not simply team USA beating the soviet union for the first time in ages, but was symbolic for the united states during a low point of the cold war. canada has simply been superior in hockey for decades, they are not our enemy. at this moment, the united states is led by a fascist who is trying to annex canada and greenland and canadians should be upset, they should feel hurt. this was more than just a hockey game to them, it was for the type of national pride the united states felt in 1980.

I don't know man. Maybe I'm still just really emotional about how the Bruins' season ended but I'm sitting here crying watching this video Pasta posted.

Just thinking about that kid we drafted in 2014 who kept rubbing the Spoked-B on his chest talking about how happy he was to be a Bruin. The same kid who wore that same jersey when he was just a little boy in a small town in Czechia playing goalie with his friends because the huge Spoked-B applique was so big and thick enough to protect him from pucks.

The little boy who loved his country and hockey fiercely and grew up too poor to really afford stick tape, so now he can't really use much because he learned to play without it.

I just. I don't know, man. Watching hundreds of people stand on the streets of Prague chanting "Pastrňák!" over and over because Pasta is their national hero right now for scoring that game-winning goal has me very emotional.

not a bruins fan or a person who particularly likes marchand but as a hrpf enjoyer and writer and someone who loves me a bit of narrative i gotta say it: do you think, looking up to the heavens with tears in his eyes, reminiscing on the illustrious career he has accomplished, all marchy could think of was bergy? of those players he lost? maybe he was not proud just to reach this moment, but pained that the one he's been closest with from the start is no longer there standing at his side. that somehow, someway, even here surrounded by his teammates and the people he loves, it's... empty. and nothing else but memories and the "C" emblazoned on his chest can serve comfort to that pain. do you ever think about that?
