hi i’m luca, i don’t really know what to say so here are some fun facts abt me…
-i'm 18 years old, i speak italian, english, a bit of german and mandarin
-i enjoy various media and any kind of art in general, from videogames to novels to comics, some of my favourite pieces are the dark souls trilogy, elden ring, deltarune, omori, ping pong and so on
-i like drawing and (recently) playing the piano
-i don't really have a specific music taste, i usually obsess over a specific group or artist (rhapsody, as i'm writing this) and it's pretty hard for me to move on from said artists
Before Nightreign released, I theorized each Nightlord would be connected to a Nightfarer, hence why there were 8 each. I ended up being terribly wrong, such is the way of theorizing for an unreleased fromsoft game, BUT I still think you can draw connections between them all.
Most obvious would be Wylder and Heolstor, even excluding Wylder's ending you would still have them both being from a massacred people that swore revenge in their names, but on account of being the true Nightlord you could argue Heolstor to fit with anyone.
From there, just going down the list we have Gladius, who I believe to line up with Revenant. This is probably the one I'm most uncertain of but they share in being intensely loyal to someone else (Heolster/mysterious swordsman and Chloe respectively) and becoming instruments of violence for the sake of that individual. Gladius also is obviously inspired by Cerberus, and that underworld connection would also match with Revenant's spirit summoning.
Adel is one i actually theorized before the game's release, matching with Raider. The two share in their hunger, Adel's literal and Raider's metaphorical in that he craves glory/battle/etc. However, they do diverge a little, as while Adel is twisted and can never escape his hunger Raider seemingly finds peace at the end of his remembrance (no longer hearing the call of the sea) and might grow less intent on his quest for glory. Though that's pure speculation on my part, his remembrance is the one I have the loosest understanding of
Gnoster and Ironeye. The Night being a method of survival, of thriving, for the bugs and for Those Who Live In Death. And, I think Gnoster's mind/body/soul stuff could loosely be compared to Ironeye's cultish upbringing by the Fellowship. Being tied to another, not being as much an individual as you are a part of a greater whole. This is clearly great for the Gnoster trio, who flourish and seemingly enjoy their collaborative existence, but is debatable for Ironeye, who, as i like to think, abandons his ties to the Fellowship in his ending in favor of enjoying the Night as he wishes to. Also a silly similarity but they both are associated with poison, bc invader Ironeye always has poison arrows and player Ironeye can get the poison ult relic effect
Another I theorized prior to release: Duchess and Maris. Admittedly my only reasoning pre-release was "Duchess is Bloodborne-y and Augur is a Bloodborne-y title." But it ended up working out as both are resigned to a passive role at first, as Priestess and as a drifting entity that doesn't really directly attack you much, but then take up a more active role as Duchess and as Maris progresses into phase 2 or especially its everdark phase where it has far more direct attacks. They also have a unique influence over their surroundings, Duchess by twisting time and Maris by making them appear underwater.
Libra and Executor. Both are deeply entwined with the concept of balance, as well as things of Gold. Libra is objective balance, devoid of any real feeling in favor of ensuring that everything is always perfectly "fair," while Executor is more a perfect blending of all things, as befits someone so connected to the Crucible. Executor balances male/female, active/passive, human/beast, life/death, artist/warrior, but is a deeply feeling person as well. Libra seeks balance by combining Gold and Chaos, but Executor inadvertently has become the pinnacle of balance via the Crucible-fuelled merging of the Painter and Crucible Knight. They also share in the fact that they gain power when struck by a status effect (Frenzy exclusive in Libra's case, and implied to be an anger thing rather rhan whatever it is for Executor, but a fun similarity regardless)
Fulghor and Guardian, another I'm a little uncertain of. A warrior loyal to a people that lost everything, betrayed by those they trusted (I'm stretching a little here, as Guardian doesnt know Recluse until after and she did not intend for the Ictarus to be used as a weapon). Starting off feeling like a failure/consumed by what was lost, but later realizing they can still fight with all their pride (Fulghor regaining his full holy power and Guardian donning his helm again). Also (basic) Fulghor's relic is just blatantly best for Guardian.
Caligo and Recluse, another I'm confident in. An ancient being, an observer who seeks knowledge and understanding above all else, but lacks in empathy. They are clinical in their observations. Cold, as represented by Caligo's icy powers. This is what leads to Caligo's demise, and what would have killed Recluse (alongside the Witch of the Wheel and many others) had she not come to realize that there was something she failed to see: the importance of love, of care, and using her knowledge to help others (as she does in Revenant's and Wylder's quests).
