Hey! Can you please write soft, kindhearted gn reader x Bela Dimitrescu?
Totally can!
~~~
You fidgeted a little under her stare, keeping your eyes trained on the fire as you added another log.
Somehow Bela Dimitrescu was more intimidating laying down in bed, wrapped up in blankets than chasing you while threatening your life.
Your inability to aim was what got you into this situation.
You were trying to escape the castle when Bela had come out of nowhere, startling you. You did the first thing you could think of that anyone else in your predicament would. You picked up the nearest object and chucked it at her.
Except you missed her by a yard and hit the window instead, breaking it.
The rush of cold air that swept in had you shivering under your zip up and the shriek that Bela let out put a stab through your heart as her body seemed to shut down.
You quickly unzipped your sweatshirt and shrugged it off, throwing it around her shoulders before moving her to another room away from the cold air. You started a fire and tucked her under as many blankets as you could find, apologizing profusely as you did.
The silence that was filling the room was beginning to make you uncomfortable though and if something wasn't said soon, you were going to start telling her about whatever drama was going on at your job before you had left for vacation just to fill the silence.
"Why are you doing this?" Bela asked and all you could do was shrug as you picked up the fire poker, "you could be using this oppurtunity to escape. You could be using this oppurtunity to kill me."
You knew that. You could've left her in that room and jumped out the window, even taken the fire poker and used that to end it all, wipe your hands off and be done with this whole thing.
But seeing her vulnerable like that, you just couldn't leave her or kill her. You felt like you didnt have the energy to do either of those. It was like that adrenaline that was keeping you going had ran right out of you when that cold hit.
That and you didn't exactly find joy in killing, human or not.
"You were in trouble. I couldn't just leave you. Not in good conscious." You answered her honestly.
She watched as you stifled a yawn, "You're tired."
"Yeah. Running from people wanting to kill and eat you will do that to a normal person."
You flinched a little at your words, mumbling a sorry.
You heard shuffling behind you and you thought you were done for but instead you heard, "Come rest."
You paused, looking behind you to see Bela lifting the covers and she rolled her eyes, "you helped me so I won't kill you in your sleep."
'In your sleep' seemed to be the key words there in your mind.
"Okay," was all you could say, slowly getting up and walking to the bed, slipping underneath the covers beside her.
She let the covers fall over you and you felt her arm drape around you, causing you to tense.
"You're warm."
"Thank you." You whispered, not really knowing what else to say.
"I think I'll have to keep you."
You eyes widened, "what?" You felt a surge of panic, "I don't think th-"
"You're staying." She cut you off, no room for argument in her tone and she kissed your cheek, "mother won't mind."
"Are you sure? I'd hate to impose. I'm just another mouth to feed." You tried, "and I can't eat people. Thats not in my diet."
She laughed as her arm around you tightened, "you'll be just fine here."
You listened to her breathing even out over the next few minutes before you took a shakey breath, looking towards the fire.
You had a feeling this castle was about to be your new home for the forseeable future.
So my dad was gonna do my brake pads today while I was at work but the pins are rusted so it's taking a whole lot of elbow grease and I walk in the door, change clothes and my dad goes 'come let me show you whats happening'. He shows me whats happening, shows me what he was doing, and then gives me the socket wrench and goes 'alright have at her'.
Sir? Can I please have some food before I play mechanic?
Hai there! Iâm not entirely sure if your requests are open so if theyre not then please ignore me and sorry for bothering!
However if they are open, could I request Leon x Wife! Reader post RE9 asking him if he ever regrets coming to Raccoon City? Like if he could change the past knowing everything that has happened to him, would he?
Thank youuu!
Hello! Requests are definitely open, they just take me a bit to get to because of work :)
~~
You and Leon sat in the park on a blanket, soaking in the sunshine, you sat between Leonâs legs as you rested your back against his chest, his arms wrapped around your shoulders to hold you close. Â
He had gotten back at two in the morning, immediately heading into the kitchen to cook a grilled cheese sandwich with some fries. You ended up waking up to go to the bathroom before hearing him in the kitchen, smiling when you saw he was home, not wanting to ask the question that was probably at the forefront of your mind, opting to give him a hug and kiss instead.Â
Then you had caught a glimpse of his neck, eyes widening as you pulled the neck of his sweatshirt down to reveal that there were no black marks before grabbing his wrist and looking at his hands, tears welling in your eyes as he smiled at you. Â
Your hands had come up to cup his face, âthere was a cure?âÂ
âThere was a cure.âÂ
A few tears had escaped as you pulled him in for another hug, your arms tight around his shoulders as his wrapped around your waist to hold you.Â
âYouâre okay.â You whispered, and he nodded, letting himself get lost in your hold.Â
âIâm okay. Itâs gone for good.âÂ
Now, he could enjoy these moments without worrying about it being the last.Â
âThis is nice.â He whispered, his cheek resting on the top of your head.Â
âMhm,â you hummed, your eyes closed, âwhenâs the last time we were able to do something like this without being interrupted?âÂ
âThe night before our wedding.â Leon answered with no hesitation, âWe snuck out of the hotel and went for a walk in the woods. I almost got us lost.âÂ
You laughed softly at the memory, âRight. How could I forget government agent Leon Scott Kennedy who should be an expert navigator saying âIâm eighty percent sure we came from this wayâ and then we ended up coming out on the other side of the woods and then we had to walk all the way back to the hotel.âÂ
Leon chuckled, âI may have been a couple of drinks in when I suggested that.âÂ
You patted his knee, âI know.âÂ
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you, and Leon watched as a few college kids tossed around a frisbee. He felt like he had missed out on so many of these little moments with you over these past few months, him and Sherry focusing on trying to find anything that could lead them to a cure.Â
 He was so focused on not dying that he forgot that he should be spending as much time with you as possible in case they couldnât find an antiviral. In those last few minutes when he was so close to death he could touch it, when he thought Elpis was another weapon that needed to be destroyed, he was realizing how much time he cut away from you and he was regretting every second of it. Â
But he was getting a full life with you now, and he was going to take advantage of every second, not take even one for granted.Â
âLeon?â He hummed to show he was listening, âwould you go back to Raccoon City?âÂ
âIf I wanted to sight see some rubble again, absolutely.â He joked and you snorted.Â
âNot what I meant.â You told him, âI mean, knowing what you know now, would you have requested to go there after graduating the academy?âÂ
Leon looked around the park as he thought about it.Â
On one hand, heâd be spared from the trouble of this job and the effects of the T-Virus decades later. He could start somewhere else, ttart as a cop like he wanted to and work his way up. You and him could meet, date, get your own place, have a couple of pets, maybe kids. You two could get married and have a honeymoon without him fearing that heâd be called away during these moments. Vacations that actually remained vacations.Â
But if he didnât go back, would he even meet you?Â
Raccoon City was why he got thrown into this job and why he had to move to DC. He had met you because you worked at the twenty-four-hour diner that was closest to the airport he might as well have lived at. Â
Leon remembers the first time he saw you there. It was almost three in the morning, and he had just gotten back from a mission, in desperate need of coffee and food. He was twenty-seven at the time and he asked to be taken to the nearest place open to get a bite. He was dropped off at the diner, heading inside where you were standing at the counter, greeting him with a smile.Â
âCan I get something to drink right away?â You called to him and he gave you a tired smile.Â
âA coffee would be nice.âÂ
âJust brewed a fresh pot.â You answered, pouring him a mug of it and grabbing a menu, walking to where he sat in the corner and setting both in front of him, âIf you want something greasy to drown sorrows in, may I suggest the complete breakfast? Sauage links, eggs, hashbrowns, ham, bacon, and your choice of waffles or pancakes.âÂ
His mouth watered just at the thought.Â
âSounds perfect.âÂ
From that night on, he went there after missions where youâd pour him a cup of coffee as soon as he walked into the door, and he started sitting at the counter to talk to you. Heâd time everything just right so he could wait with you for your taxi home. At some point, he finally worked up the nerve to ask you out after almost a year.Â
âYou mean I get to see you in the daylight, Leon? I was starting to think you were a vampire.â You had joked as you refilled his mug.Â
âI heard vampires are all the rage nowadays.â He smiled.Â
âDepends on the person.âÂ
âIf the person is you?âÂ
You had given him a shrug with a small smile, âtheyâre alright but disgruntled-looking men who wear leather jackets and get food at weird hours are more my type.âÂ
Leon grinned, âSounds like my competition is pretty small.âÂ
âGet a supply closet you two!â The cook, Jodi, had hollered through the window and you glared at her while Leon laughed, checking his watch to see you only had a few minutes before the next waitress came in.Â
âWell, lovely as always Jodi but itâs almost time for us to leave.â Then he turned to you, âLunch later today? Maybe around one? Gives us time to sleep.âÂ
You smiled at him as you took his empty plate, âSounds perfect.âÂ
He couldnât even imagine his life without you.Â
âYeah.â Leon finally answered, his head moving to your shoulder and kissing your cheek, âIâd go back. Iâd do Raccoon City over again a million times because thatâs how I got you in my life and I canât guarantee that if I didnât go, I'd still have you.â Â
You turned to look at him, âYouâd go through all that again just because you know you would meet me?âÂ
He nodded, âWhy risk giving up the greatest thing in my life?âÂ
Leon saw your eyes soften and you gave him a kiss on the lips, âI love you.âÂ
âI love you too.âÂ
âIâd relive those shitty nightshifts if it meant meeting you again too. Not that itâs even close to yours but Iâd make the same choices I did so I could have you in my life.âÂ
Leon smiled, pulling you to lay down with him, âI know you would.â He pressed a kiss to your hairline, one of his arms moving behind his head and the other to the small of your back, rubbing it, âI couldnât have a fulfilling life if you werenât in it.âÂ
Sorry to bother you again, but could I get Leon being a dad to Grace and Emily?
1: you are not bothering me and 2: i absolutley love this!
~~~
There were things Leon did that had Grace realize she may have missed out a bit when it came to not having a dad around. Not that her mother didnât do amazing on her own with teaching Grace some things, but Leon was having her realize that there were some things she was never taught.
It started when Leon, Grace, and Emily had taken a road trip to some hiking trail with a waterfall that Leon was talking about. Getting there was no problem, Leon giving her direction even though the GPS on her phone was going.
The way back had some issues though when all of a sudden, the tire pressure gauge went off and the tire on her rear passenger side went from 35 to 7 in seconds.
âWhat the-â she started and Leon just calmly reached over and turned on the hazards.
When Grace pulled off to the side and bother her and Leon got out, him telling Emily to keep her butt in the seat, Grace sighed as she saw the very flat tire.
âDammit.â She groaned and Leon shrugged, crouching down to look at the damage.
âPretty big nail,â he lifted his index finger and held it at an angle, âwent through the top and is poking out through the side.â
Grace sighed, âIâll call somebody.â
Leon furrowed his brows, âCall someone? Just pop the trunk and weâll throw the donut on.â
Grace felt a blush creep onto her cheeks, and Leon smiled, picking up what was happening.
âItâs fine. Iâll show you how to change it.â Leon glanced at the tire before looking back up at her, âthen weâll order you a new set cause the treads on these...â He trailed off, letting out a low whistle.
Then he popped the trunk and told Emily to get out of the car because everyone was going to learn something today as he pulled out the donut and the jack.
âBut you told me to keep my butt in the seat.â
âThat was before. This is now. You should know how to do this too.â
That was when she really noticed everything Leon did for her and Emily.
Making food that he'd drop off for them, checking in everyday, helping Emily with her homework, having them over at least once a week for dinner and a movie. He was a father figure in their lives, and she was happy to have a parental figure in her life again and for Emily to have one. Someone she could air any problems or concerns to. Someone to ask for advice if she needed it.
"Alright," Leon crouched down, Emily hopping onto his back in the middle of the trail, "what do we want for lunch?"
He stood up straight as Grace shrugged, "I'm okay with whatever."
"Okay, Em." He jostled the girl on his back a bit, "your choice. What do you want to eat? Anything's game."
The young girl hummed as Leon walked alongside Grace, "how about that ramen shop we passed on the way here? The one downtown?â
"Sounds like a great idea to me."
The three of them sat around a table as they ate their food, Emily talking about things that were happening at school
At some point, the check came and as Grace reached for her purse, Leon had already pulled out his wallet, grabbing his card and handing it over.
"I can pay, Leon." She said, and he waved her off.
"It's fine. My treat."
"It's always your treat." Emily told him, and Leon looked at her as he dug through his wallet for some cash to leave as a tip.
"Thats cause you two are worth treating."
Leon thanked the waiter as they returned with his card and receipt, him signing it before handing back the pen with a smile before looking at the girls, "are we ready then?"
All these little, and big, things he did had Grace pulling Emily aside.
"Do you think we should get something for Leon for Father's Day?"
Emily smiled as she nodded, "i think he'd like that."
And that was how her and Emily found themselves trying to find the perfect gift for Leon.
They were out with Leon when they saw it, their eyes cutting to each other before Grace pulled it off the rack, casually checking the tag as Emily practically dragged Leon to a different section of the store.
It was such a nice leather jacket, and she knew from stories that he had told them that he loved his leather jackets.
It wasn't the cheapest thing, but for Leon, it was worth it. She checked the size and smiled. Perfect.
Grace looked around before seeing Emily and Leon, heading over to them after putting the jacket back.
"Hey, Leon, I promised Emily I'd buy her an ice cream for acing that last math test," Grace started as she fished for the cash in her wallet, "can you take her across the street for one?"
Leon nodded, "sure. No problem, kiddo." He ignored the cash in her hand before offering his hand to Emily, "you want something?"
"I'm alright. I'll meet you guys over there. I'm not done looking yet."
Leon shot her a thumbs up before letting Emily lead him towards the door, "see you in a few."
As soon as they were out of sight, Grace ran back to the jacket, grabbing it off the rack and heading over to the checkout lane.
**
The girls snuck into Leons house using the key he had given them, gift tucked under Graces arm as Emily held onto the card.
"Hey, kiddos!" Leon greeted, as he took a bite of toast, "you two hungry? I can fix you both a plate of breakfast."
"We're okay. Thank you though." Grace said and Leons eyes found the box, nodding at it as he took another bite.
"Whatcha got there?"
Grace and Emily smiled at each other as they walked over, setting it next to Leon and the card on top of it.
"Happy Father's Day." The girls said in unison, and Leon raised an eyebrow as he set down his fork and grabbed a napkin.
"Father's Day?"
"Well, yeah." Grace shrugged and Emily jumped in.
"You do a lot for us and you're always there whether we need you or not so you're kind of like our dad." She explained.
A smile crept onto his face as he grabbed the card to read first.
"I'll gladly take the title as your guys' dad."
He opened the envelope and pulled out the card, eyes skimming over it as he read, and Grace swore she could see tears welling in his eyes as he put it down and then turned his attention towards the box.
"Alright. You guys didn't put any live creatures in here, did you?"
"No but we did think about getting you a cat." Grace joked as Leon wiggled off the top of the box.
"Funny." Was all he said before his eyes widened, picking up the leather jacket carefully.
"It's nothing like the old ones you rave about from time to time but we saw it at the store and knew you had to have it." Grace told him and she saw him look the jacket over carefully.
"We cut off the price tag, so you won't find that anywhere." Emily cut in and Leon snorted.
"Who said I was looking for a price tag?"
"Us because we know you don't do well with people spending an exorbitant amount of money on you." Grace smiled and Leon glared at her.
"This better not be triple digits, Gracie."
She shrugged, "can't remember."
"Your bank statement would love to disagree, I bet."
"Just take it Leon." She finally said as he stood up to try it on, smiling before wrapping an arm around each of the girls and pulling them in for a hug.
"Thank you. I love it."
"We know. Just try not to lose this one." Emily said, and Leon laughed.
"Trust me. This one won't be coming on any missions with me." He gave them both a squeeze, "thank you, girls. It means a lot that you thought of me today."
The two smiled at him, "of course. You mean a lot to us."
Hi there, could i request male reader x genderswapped Verdugo? The reader just stumbles into Castellan and itâs kind of enemies to lovers, just with reader being defenseless and Verdugo hunting him down.
Hello! I honestly almost gave up trying to write this because I kept getting stuck but then I had an idea so not a whole lot of focus on the enemies part and more leading into the territory of lovers instead of ending as lovers but I'm pretty content on how this came out.
~~
You were so tired.
You had been running around the castle for hours, attempting to escape. You were close a couple of times.
Hell, you found your way back to the main door once.
But then she showed up. Every. Damn. Time.
The tall, insect-like creature.
There wasn't anything that seemed remotely human about her. She had claws that looked ready to slice anyone and anything in her way, a tail that had definitely done some stabbing at some point in her life, her body that was pretty much armor and she had red glowing eyes.
The first time you ran into her after having entered the castle, she removed the hood of her cloak from her head as she hissed and you immediately said, 'what the fuck' before taking off down the hall.
To be fair, in her defense, you were technically trespassing. She had every right to want to kill you since you were an intruder.
In your defense though, you had gotten lost in the woods and thought the castle was abandoned. When you realized it was not after the robed figure showed up, you did say you would leave.
She just seemed to jump to the conclusion of must kill the random man who has stumbled in and not hear him out first.
And so the chase begun. You had been making blind turns and stowing underneath beds and in cabinets and anywhere you could fit to hide. You prayed she couldn't smell fear and that you didn't sneeze from the dust while you heard her pacing back and forth, like some video game npc you needed to avoid.
At some point, your fear of her switched to annoyance and instead of running away anytime you heard her three corridors over, you were making comments when you saw her coming down the same hallway as you.
"Funny how everyone else leaves me the hell alone when I don't want them to but when with you it's the exact opposite problem."
"You know what I admire about you? Your persistence. You know what I hate about you? Your persistence.
"I was not a track star in high school despite what you may think. Although, I'd love for my gym teacher to see this to show that I have improved since graduating."
The last time you saw her, she turned up at the main door and you let out an exasperated sigh as you stared into her glowing eyes, "do I need a restraining order? Cause at this point, I'm seriously considering one."
You swear on every god that exsists, she smiled at that.
You were starting to think she was toying with you, letting you get away so she could extend this little game, like a cat not fully killing a mouse so it can hunt it again and again.
It was kind of infuriating the way she wouldn't appear for an extended amount of time and just when you were about to leave this place, she'd pop up, driving you away.
Right now though, you were positive you had lost her.
You let yourself sit down in a chair, your body practically melting into the chair from exhaustion.
You just needed a small rest and then you'd be alright.
However, maybe sitting down wasnt the best course of action since everytime you blinked, you fought to open your eyes again.
At some point you didn't try to open them, just letting yourself drift off.
**
You felt yourself getting carried and cracked an eye open, immediately freezing anymore actions as you noticed she was carrying you.
You fought back anything that could clue in this creature that you were awake.
You closed your eyes, trying to think of a game plan. She had caught you and now you were being taken who knows where. Probably the dungeon and then you'd really be screwed.
You heard a door creak open and you prepared yourself to throw a punch and then run. At least you had the surprise factor in your favor.
Right as you were about to act, you were set down gently and felt something cover you.
You listened to the footsteps fade and when you heard the door close, you opened your eyes, not really knowing what to expect. Your brows furrowed in confusion as you looked around.
You had been put in a bedroom on a surprisingly comfy bed for something that had been here for an unknown amount of time, a blanket draped over you.
The creature had tucked you into bed.
You sat up, digging the heels of your hands into your eye sockets. Surely you were dreaming.
The door opening a couple of seconds later had you scuttling back towards the wall, the creature holding another blanket. She paused before walking forward, gently tapping the pillow with one of her claws as she made a clicking sound.
What the actual fuck was happening?
You laid back down carefully, keeping your eyes on her as she unfolded the blanket and laid it over you before taking a step back.
She closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them and you stared at her.
"You want me to go to sleep?"
She nodded, looking pleased that you understood.
"Why? So you can kill me later? So you can have more fun with the hunt?"
She watched you, never blinking.
"What's your name?"
She looked around before taking a claw to the floor, the noise it made causing you to screw you eyes shut as you grimaced.
Verdugo.
You nodded, "alright, Verdugo. What happened to you?"
Her eyes drifted to the floor for a couple of seconds before looking back up at you, closing her eyes again and you sighed, finally shutting them.
"There. Happy?"
There was more clicking and when you opened your eyes again a few minutes later when silence fell, you saw she sat down in the arm chair in the corner, her own eyes closed.
You noticed a slight draft coming through the window and you got up, taking the spare blanket she had given you and draping it over her, walking back to the bed and sliding in, drawing the covers up over your shoulders.
She wasn't half bad. She hadn't killed you yet despite that seeming to be her main goal after she first saw you. Honestly, after all these hours, she had grown on you.
And as you turned to face the corner where she was sleeping, you didn't see her as a threat. You saw her as someone who just wanted to be loved.
Maybe, just maybe, you could convince her to let you go and you would take her with you to try to give her a chance at a life away from whatever this place was.
There was a sound of content that came from her throat as she snuggled down into the blanket and you smiled a bit. Your mind was made up.
You would see if she wanted to come home with you when morning came.
Hey, could i get shy gn reader x las plagas mutated Ashley Graham after the events of RE4? (Sorry if my english is bad)
I'm so sorry it took me this long to get to this! I had to let some ideas stew before actually deciding on one to stick with. I hope you like it!
~~
Insistent knocking at your apartment door at eleven o clock at night had you stumbling out of bed, the hood of the sweatshirt you wore to bed pulled up as you unlocked your door and threw open the door.Â
Leon stood on the other side in sweatpants and a sweatshirt, hair mussed from sleep. You went to say something before your eyes saw the girl behind him and you almost screamed but Leon was quick to smack a hand over your mouth before you could, pushing you into your apartment.Â
âCome on, Ashley.â He mumbled and the girl carefully walked into your apartment, closing the door behind her.Â
 Your eyes widened more when you fully saw her before turning them back to Leon.Â
âSheâs fine.â He told you, and you gave him an incredulous look.Â
Leonâs definition of fine was vastly different from yours apparently. Somehow a girl with bug wings, one clawed hand, a scorpion tail, black veins prominent through her skin, and what looked to be the start of the mandible of an insect on one side of her mouth was fine.Â
âDonât panic. I'm gonna take my hand away. âÂ
Leon pulled his hand from your mouth, and you swallowed, eyes darting to the stranger in your apartment.Â
âWhat the hell, Leon?â Your voice was shaky and he motioned to your couch. Â
How Ashley Graham was kidnapped and he went to Spain to get her. How they both had been infected with Las Plagas but there was a machine to remove. How they did remove it but apparently something with Ashleyâs extraction went wrong.Â
You hadn't spoken a single word throughout the entire story, just staring at the two of them while your drowsy brain tried to wrap around it all.Â
âShe needs to stay here for a bit.â Leon finally said, âjust until we figure out what to do. Iâm meeting with President Graham and a couple of others right after I leave here.âÂ
Your eyes darted between the two and you played with the frayed edges of your sweatshirt, âwhy here?âÂ
âBecause I trust you, and I know sheâll be okay here while we try to find a solution.âÂ
You hesitated for a moment, staring at Leon and you could read what he didnât want to say in front of her in his eyes.Â
He would not bring her over if she was a danger.Â
You turned to look at Ashley. She seemed more scared than anything; her nonclawed hand was tapping against her leg and, despite the non-human traits, she seemed harmless. Breathtaking but harmless nonetheless.
You subconsciously ducked your head at the thought before looking back to your closest friend, who had an almost knowing smile, before nodding, standing up and rubbing your forehead, âIâll get the spare bed made up.âÂ
Ashley watched as you walked away, turning to Leon as she carefully traced shapes on her pajama pants with her claw, "Are you sure they're gonna be okay with this?"
Leon nodded, "There is no one else I trust more than them. You'll be taken care of. You'll be safe while your dad and I figure something out."
"But what if-"
"Ashley," he gave her a look with a small smile, "it's fine. Just don't take their lack of conversation after I leave as not liking you. It takes a while for them to get comfortable around people." Leon's smile turned into a teasing smirk, "especially pretty ones."
Ashley's face burned with embarrassment as Leon laughed, sitting back in the chair as you came back out, motioning for Ashley to follow you.
"I'll check in on you two a couple of times a week." Leon told you guys as he stood up, yawning as he checked his watch, "I gotta get going though. I'm going to need a coffee if I need to have a functioning conversation with President Graham."
You said your goodbyes as Leon headed out the front door, you following and locking the door behind him before turning back to the blonde woman.
"Come on. I'll give you a quick tour." Your voice was quiet as you walked down the hall.
You showed her the bathroom before taking her into the spare bedroom.
"I gave you a few extra blankets. You can always put them on the floor in the corner if you don't need them." You yawned as you pointed down the hall, "if you need me, I'm right there. Other than that, help yourself."
And then you wished Ashley a goodnight before heading back to your room.
**Â
A few days turned into a few months and soon everything became routine. Leon coming over for dinner and hanging out for a few hours before night fell so he could sneak Ashley out for tests and possible cures, none of which worked, before she would be dropped off at around one in the morning where she would hang out until dawn and then sleep while you were at work.Â
President Graham would give you some money to make up for the extra money you were spending since it wasnât like Ashley could get a job at the moment without causing a panic amongst civilians.Â
You werenât as reserved as when Ashley first met you, speaking more to her unprompted than at first and asking more questions, but you still didnât seem entirely comfortable with her.Â
Leon had told Ashley that it was just because you hadn't known her for as long as you've known him. 'They're more of a listener than a talker', was a sentence that came out of his mouth once.Â
Ashley felt like it was because of las plagas.Â
Leon also liked to tease Ashley about the little crush she was forming the longer she stayed with you and tried convincing her to just tell you.
"You'll feel so much lighter once you get it off your chest." He tried, glancing over at her.
As if you would like her when she was a mutant.
It was two in the morning, rain pattering at the window and keeping her awake when Ashley finally climbed out of bed.
She made her way to your bedroom, knocking in the door frame to hopefully wake you.Â
It had, you startling from your sleep as you tried to turn on the lamp.Â
âIt's just me.â She said, and you sighed, letting yourself settle a bit before speaking.Â
âEverything okay?â Â
Ashley nodded, âyeah, I just donât want to be alone right now.âÂ
She waited in the doorway, hoping that maybe you would get up and spend some time with her in the living room. You had the next day off. She wouldnât have woken you up if you did.Â
There was a moment of quiet.Â
âIf you want, you can stay in here until you're tired.â Your voice was barely a whisperÂ
Ashleyâs eyes widened in surprise. She thought she misheard you. There was no way you had said that.Â
She watched you scooch over as you beckoned her over, and she closed the distance between you two, letting herself sit on the edge of your bed, pulling her feet up.Â
âAren't you scared?â Ashley asked.Â
âOf?â Â
âMe. What if the plaga fully takes over and I try to kill you or something? What if they canât get it out of me and they have to kill me.â Â
You shook your head, âI donât think it's going to take over. It wouldâve by now. And they wonât kill you. Your dad wouldnât even entertain the idea, and neither would Leon.â Â
Ashley snorted, âyou say that so confidently.âÂ
âI do and I mean it. Youâre gonna be okay. Even if they never cure you fully, youâll still be Ashley. They would find a way to keep you safe if there was no way to extract it.âÂ
She felt her heart flutter a bit at your words and she tentatively reached out, brushing your hair off your forehead, âthanks.âÂ
Your face heated, dropping your gaze as you fiddled with the blanket, âyou needed to hear it.âÂ
âI did.â She smiled, âI kind of thought you were creeped out by all of this.âÂ
You shrugged, âit takes some getting used to, but once you do, itâs cool. Minus the fact that itâs a parasite that was forced into you by a cult. But you have wings.âÂ
Ashley let out a genuine laugh and you couldnât stop the soft smile that made itâs way onto your lips. Â
Ashley scooted closer to you, and you stayed where you were, taking a deep breath.Â
âThank you for everything.â She whispered.Â
âNo problem.â You answered and before you could react, she leaned forward and pressed a kiss to your cheek before a blush worked its way onto her cheeks.Â
Before you could think of something to say, she quickly got off your bed and told you goodnight, leaving your room hastily as she shut the door behind her.Â
You stared at your closed door in shock, your brain slowly processing what just happened.Â
Ashley Graham had just kissed your cheek.Â
What were you going to do in the morning? How were you going to approach her and talk to her about it without being awkward about it? How were you going to tell her that you didn't mind it and that you wouldn't mind if it happened again?
As the minutes ticked on, you thought about whether or not she meant it the way you were taking it. She could've just meant it in a friendly way and if she did, you wouldn't be able to look Ashley in the eyes ever again if you told her that you liked her.
You're being silly, you thought, just tell her and if she feels the same, perfect. If not, it's not the end of the world. You can still be friends.
The main problem for you was to find the courage to do so.

RE9 Leon
~~
Leon laid on the couch, you on top of him, your soft breaths hitting his neck. Â
Â
His eyes were closed but he couldn't bring himself to fall asleep, wanting to soak up every second he could with you.
So, he opened them and picked up his phone to scroll on since it was the closest thing to him.Â
Â
If you were awake, you'd scold him. Tell him how he just got back from a mission, and he needs the rest. Needs a proper sleep especially after whatever toll the virus had taken on his body all these years. That you're not going to sneak out and leave him. You'll be here in the morning and spend the whole day with him. Â
Â
But Leon couldn't help it. Â
Â
He scrolled through the news on his phone, his free hand resting on your waist. Â
Â
"Leon?" You mumbled, causing him to startle. Â
Â
"Holy shit. I thought you were asleep." He whispered, calming himself. Â
Â
"Put your phone down and go to sleep." You told him, not even cracking your eyes open. Â
Â
"I'm not tired, sweetheart." He responded and you pressed a couple of kisses to the crook of his neck. Â
Â
"You are. You're just forcing yourself to stay awake." You brought a hand up to cup his jaw, "you can go to sleep, my love. I'll be here when you wake up. I promise." Â
Â
Leon stared at you for a few seconds, and you reached up, slipping his phone from his hand, setting it on the floor next to the couch before snaking your arms around his neck. Â
Â
"Go to bed, baby. We have the whole day tomorrow." You whispered. Â
Â
Leon let out a breath, letting his arms wrap around you as he held you, "whole day, huh?"Â Â
Â
"Mhm. I mean, I can't go into work and risk giving people the stomach bug I have, right?" Â
Â
He felt the ghost of your smile against his skin, and he let out a chuckle, "guess not. That would be very irresponsible." Â
Â
"Exactly. So, I have to stay home tomorrow. For everyone's health." Â
Â
His eyes fluttered closed, "yeah. You have to stay home so I can take care of you. Get you back to your best self." Â
Â
You hummed in response, moving your head so you could kiss his jaw, "Thank you for coming back to me." Â
Â
"Always, angel. Always."
synopsis: A trip to Wyoming took a turn for the worst but at least Leon was there.
word count: 3,707
warnings: i don't think there are any
I wrote this to be in 2006/2007 so like ID Leon
I actually want to do an alternate version of this where it's a family trip and it's more Leon helping the reader grieve her family but I'm not entirely sure yet nor do I know that if I do write it, if I'll like how it comes out.
~~
You ran inside the room and slammed it shut, breathing rapidly as you locked the door before taking a step back. You stepped back until you hit a wall, sinking down to the floor and bringing your shaking hands to your hair, some sobs coming out.Â
You had heard about bioterrorism; the government finally letting the cat out of the bag a couple of years ago. Â
You just didnât think it was going to happen on your solo trip to Wyoming.Â
A bang outside the door had you stifling a scream and jumping, another sob escaping as you shuffled farther away from the door. Â
Then there was banging on the door.Â
You screamed as it flew open, your hands coming up at what you knew was going to be a feeble attempt to protect yourself from the zombies that were bound to come flooding in.Â
âI got a survivor.â A man's voice said, and you looked through your fingers, noticing the gun in his hand that you assumed had been pointed at you when he first entered.Â
He took a step closer to you and you moved back, trying to suck up the sobs that were still escaping, looking for something to wield as a weapon.Â
âHey, itâs alright,â he holstered his gun, a hand out like he was approaching a dog, âIâm agent Leon Kennedy. Iâm here to help.âÂ
âStay away!â You managed to yell, making yourself smaller, hands shaking as you felt around the floor for anything.Â
âI get it. Okay. Itâs a lot but-.â He started.Â
âHow do I know you're not gonna turn into one of them?!â Â
âNot to be cocky but I'm pretty good at what I do. Iâm kind of an athlete at this point.â Leon joked.Â
You looked at Leon, tears streaming down your cheeks, âI just want to go home.â You whispered.Â
âIâm going to get you home, okay. Iâm going to get you back to your family.â He told you.Â
You nodded, choking out an okay and Leon helped you stand before unholstering his gun, âstay close.â He told you, âHunnigan, I need extraction. We can let BSAA take this over.âÂ
**Â
Leon had you home in twenty-four hours.Â
He let you use his phone to call your mom from a hotel that the two of you were dropped at in Colorado, you sobbing as soon as you heard her voice. Leon had ordered some food despite you saying you werenât very hungry and then you took a shower before changing into the sweatpants and a hoodie Leon had bought for you at the local thrift store.Â
You were sitting on one of the beds, a half-eaten sandwich in your hand when Leon got done with his shower, drying his hair with a towel before walking over to his jacket and digging out a bottle.Â
âOpen your hand.â He told you, twisting the cap off the bottle.Â
âWhy?â You croaked out as you did as he told you.Â
âIâm giving you a sleeping pill. Trust me. Youâre going to need it.â He dropped two in your hand before putting the cap back on.Â
âWhat about you?âÂ
âI donât take them until Iâm done with my mission.â He reached over and handed you a water bottle.Â
The pills knocked you on your ass into a dreamless sleep that you welcomed and Leon attempted to sleep to no avail, not feeling far enough away from the danger.Â
Who was he kidding? He was never far enough away from the danger.Â
When the two of you arrived at your house, your parents and siblings rushed out to greet you, their hugs bone crushing and your eyes welling with tears again.Â
Your mom broke away from you and turned to Leon, tears running down her cheeks as she approached him, âthank you.â she whispered, wrapping her arms around him and kissing his cheek the way a mother does, âthank you for bringing her back.âÂ
Leon swallowed hard, letting himself hug her back, âOf course, maâam. Just doing my job.âÂ
âStay for the night.â Your mom pulled away, âlet us give you a bed and a homecooked meal. Itâs the least we can do.âÂ
âI donât want to impose.âÂ
âItâs not imposing if I offer.âÂ
And so, Leon found himself playing Wii sports with your siblings as you lounged on the couch watching, present but not quite.Â
The next morning after breakfast, Leon was getting into the rental car to head back to the airport when he pulled out a card.Â
âIf someone approaches you claiming theyâre from my department trying to get you to talk about what happened, call me. If youâre getting harassed by journalists and reporters, call me. If you need someone to talk to about this, call me. If you need anything at all, call me. Day or night. Okay?âÂ
You took the card from his hand, nodding, âthank you, Leon.âÂ
âTake care of yourself.âÂ
âYou too.âÂ
And then you watched him get into the car and drive away.Â
You called him almost a week later at two in the morning, drawing him from his sleep.Â
âKennedy,â he answered, voice thick with sleep.Â
âLeon, theyâre everywhere.â You sobbed quietly, clearly trying to keep it down to avoid waking your family.Â
âWhoâs everywhere?â He sat up, feeling a little more awake at your words, concern taking over.Â
âThe zombies. Theyâre outside my window. Theyâre inside my room. Theyâre inside my head.â you cried, âthey wonât leave.âÂ
âOkay. Hey, listen to me. Just listen to my voice. Letâs take some deep breaths. In.â he listened to you inhale shakily, counting to three in his head, âout.â He heard the shaky exhale.Â
The two of you took a couple more deep breaths before you had calmed down enough.Â
âIâm sorry,â you sniffled, âI really tried getting over it by myself so I wouldnât bother you but every time I try to sleep, all I see is them and then when I finally fall asleep, I wake up soon after cause theyâre in my dreams.âÂ
âSweetheart, this isnât something youâre just gonna get over. Especially by yourself. Youâre not bothering me if youâre having trouble with this. Iâve been there. Itâs worse when you donât have someone to talk to.â Leon reached over and turned on his lamp, âWhy donât you tell me about your day?âÂ
âWhy?âÂ
âBecause Iâm interested. Whatâd you do?âÂ
âWell, my sisters and I bailed Jake out of school and had a sibling day.â You told him.Â
âWhat a lucky little shit.â Leon joked and you giggled.Â
âWe had momâs permission if that makes it any better.âÂ
âIf mom said it was okay, then itâs alright. Whatâd you guys do?âÂ
âWe drove to this city an hour away and walked the downtown area. Looked through the stores. On the way back we stopped at a video game store cause Jake wanted to see if they had a game he was looking for. We ended up leaving with games for Marissaâs DS and then stopped for food.âÂ
You talked on the phone with Leon for an hour and a half and at some point, while he was telling you about a movie heâd caught on tv earlier that day, he heard soft breaths on your end of the phone.Â
âNight, sweetheart.â He said before hanging up, shutting off his lamp and laying down before following in your footsteps.Â
**Â
âshe's a civilian who survived a bioterrorism attack. She should be recruited.â Someone said, a file on everything about you sitting in Leonâs hands, your picture paper clipped to it.Â
Leon was just passing through when he was called over and asked for his opinion on something. When they handed him the file and followed it up by you being recruited as an agent, he shot it down immediately Â
You had just graduated college a couple of weeks prior to the attack. Your trip, he would come to find out on one of your calls, was a graduation gift to yourself since you had always wanted to visit Wyoming. Originally, it was going to be a trip with a couple of friends, but things had come up at the last minute. Your family offered to go with you, but you waved them off, having no complaints about taking a trip solo.Â
You told Leon you were grateful you told them that youâd rather go alone.Â
âNo.â Leon told the group flat out, and they all shared a look before looking back at Leon.Â
âCome on, Leon. It's incredible. It's similar to your situation and youâre not impressed by her?âÂ
Leon glared at them, âitâs nowhere close to my situation. My situation was that I finished my training to be a cop and drove to Raccoon city, not knowing what was happening. Not knowing what was going to happen. Her situation was a college graduate taking a trip and it turned into a fucking nightmare that she will never be able to scrub from her mind. I was reporting for duty. She was just trying to enjoy herself.â He looked down at your picture, âit's nowhere close to my situation because I didnât have someone to watch my back and save me from getting conned into this. She does and you're fucking looking at him.âÂ
Everyone was silent as his eyes moved to each person, âShe is not getting recruited. End of discussion. And if I hear a fucking whisper of it ever again as long as I breathe, I will personally see to it that you won't be able to talk ever again. Have I made myself clear?âÂ
There were looks cast around before nods, âokay. We just thought that since she had no sort of combat training and made it as far as she did before running into youâŠâÂ
âI donât care if she wiped out every bioweapon in that place herself. Sheâs not joining. Her name better not be muttered in this building again.â And with that, Leon took your file over to the paper shredder and set the papers into it, switching it on.Â
**Â
Leon glanced up at the grey skies, phone pressed to his ear as he listened to it ring.Â
âHi, Leon. Give her a minute. Sheâs got flour all over her hands because sheâs being a goblin!â He heard Marie say, the phone coming away from her mouth, âhey! Leonâs on the line! You want him to hear how horrible you truly are! Trying to get flour in our hair!âÂ
He could hear you laugh as you told your younger sister to shut up before the tap was running and the phone shuffled.Â
Over the year and a half Leon had known you, the two of you went from acquaintances to long distance friends to a long distance relationship, thanks to phone calls that had increased from whenever you needed him to talk you to sleep to daily/nightly calls to just talk and vent about life. The calls to talk about whatever movie or album was coming out. The check-in calls.Â
âHi, handsome!âÂ
âHey, princess,â he greeted, a smile making its way on his lips, âI was just wondering if you could check to see if your present was delivered. UPS says it was.âÂ
âYeah. Hold on. Jake's in the way. There's too many people in this kitchen and I called dibs on it!â you said the last part loudly and he saw the door open, you standing there in a pair of sweatpants and a tee-shirt as you looked back towards the kitchen, him hearing a muffled shout.Â
âOh zip it! No one cares about you being the youngest!âÂ
You looked out the door, eyes widening before a grin found its home on your face and you ran down the porch, down the driveway, and launched yourself into Leons arms.Â
He caught you easily, chuckling a bit, âhappy birthday.â He mumbled, kissing your temple. Â
âhow'd you manage to get here? I thought you were still in Germany following a lead that Ingrid had you on.â You pulled away and Leon shrugged.Â
âChris was getting stir crazy at home and I may have mentioned something about your birthday coming up and he was awful quick to offer to take over.âÂ
âYou shouldnât con your friends into doing your work.â You scolded playfully as he put you down.Â
âI hardly call it conning,â he scoffed, âChris offered. No conning needed.âÂ
âWell, I'm glad you made it. I thought I was going to have to settle for a birthday text.â Â
Leon made a face, âIâd skype you on an occasion like this.âÂ
âBut in person is better than a skype call because that means the birthday girl gets a proper kiss.â You beamed, batting your eyelashes.Â
âOh my gosh, how could I forget a proper birthday kiss?â He joked, leaning down and pressing a kiss to your lips, keeping it short enough in case your family was watching but long enough so you knew how much he missed you.Â
âI take it my family knew you were coming.â You slid your hand into his as he pocketed his phone.Â
âof course. As soon as Chris said he was getting his team to where I was, I was looking at flights while talking to your dad.âÂ
Leon greeted your family as you walked through the front door, Jake already saying that he'd get the Wii set up for mario party while Leon dropped his stuff in your room.Â
âWe can play catan later.â Marie smiled and you rolled your eyes.Â
âCrazy how quickly my boyfriend gets taken away from me whenever he visits.â You commented before beckoning Leon to follow you.Â
âdadâs gonna do grilled chicken sandwiches tonight and grandmas bringing over the cake,â you pushed the bedroom door open and Leon dropped his backpack on your desk chair, placing your gift gingerly on the desk.Â
 He watched you plop down on your bed and he sat next to you, wrapping his arms around your waist.Â
âSounds delicious.â Â
Your head found it's home on his shoulder.Â
âI missed you.âÂ
âI missed you too.â He kissed the top of your head, âhow's it going with the new therapist?âÂ
You shrugged, âSheâs alright. We dropped my dosage of ambien to see if we can ween me of it after I told her my nightmares when I take it are horrible and weird. She said weâll try getting me off it completely and if I feel that I can't sleep that weâll try a different sleeping medication and see how it goes.â Â
Leon nodded, his hand rubbing your back, âdoesnât sound too bad.â Â
âit's not. I'm hoping that I won't need them anymore. I'm sick of pills.â Â
âI know,â Leon stood up, âhow about we open your gift.â He walked towards your desk, picking up the box and bringing it over, setting it in your hands.Â
âShould I be nervous?â You asked as you felt the weight of the box.Â
âI donât think so.âÂ
âYou donât think so?â Â
He nodded towards the box, bringing out a pocketknife and handing it to you, âjust open it.âÂ
You ripped off the wrapping paper before using the knife to cut the tape off the box, handing it back to him as you opened the flaps, gasping and closing them as you widened your eyes, staring at your boyfriend.Â
âLeon!â Â
You reopened the box and stared at the camera that sat in the box, a Nikon D300, another box containing some lenses next to it.Â
Your old camera, a Nikon D70 was lost back in Wyoming and the only reason why you werenât in complete shambles about it was the fact that you had bought a new SD card and swapped it out prior to the trip.Â
All your photos of friends, family, events, and so on that held great memories were safe right here in this room.Â
You were still heartbroken about it. After all, it had gone everywhere with you when it was bought for you two years prior to replace the one you had since freshman year of high school.Â
And that camera came with the lenses and was not cheap.Â
This camera exceeded the price of your old one.Â
âHow much trouble am I in?â Leon asked as he sat down.Â
âJust the body is eighteen-hundred bucks Leon.â you stated, looking down at it, gingerly touching the box.Â
âI'm aware.âÂ
âI was almost there to buy it myself.âÂ
âI know but there was a sale, so I figured why not. Money well spent in my book.âÂ
You set the box next to you on the bed and wrapped your arms around his neck as his went to your waist, âthank you.â You kissed his cheek.Â
âAnything for you. But there's also this,â he drew two plane tickets out of his jacket pocket, handing them to you, âwe got to test out that new camera somewhere.âÂ
âWashington state,â you beamed before frowning as you look at the date for the flight, âI already have plans with Marie. I took that time off to- âyou cut yourself off when you looked up and saw Leon grinning, âyou got my sister to have me take off for a sister trip when it's really an us trip.â Â
âGuilty.â He shrugged.Â
âI should've known when I asked what we were doing and she said, âI donât know. going placesâ.âÂ
âWell, I couldnât ask you. Surprise would've been ruined that I was coming.â He chuckled as you placed a kiss on his lips.Â
âyouâre amazing.âÂ
âSo are you.âÂ
Leon leaned back on the bed, pulling you with him to lay down. You curled into his side, his hand rubbing your back as he basked in your company.Â
âWhat's on your mind?â He asked.Â
âHow do you know anything is on my mind?âÂ
He turned to look at you, âcome on now. You know who you're talking to right?âÂ
You waited a beat before shrugging, âI donât know. I guess I'm just nervous.â Â
âWhy?âÂ
You paused, glancing towards the hallway before dropping your voice as low as you could.Â
âWhat if Wyoming happens again?âÂ
Wyoming was an off-limits topic in the household. Your parents decided it was too touchy of a subject and that it was better to just act like you werenât there when it happened than to talk about it.Â
âIt's not gonna happen again.âÂ
You narrowed your eyes, âyou said it happens more often than I think when we were at the hotel that night.âÂ
âYeah, but it's not going to happen every time you go on vacation somewhere. Trust me.âÂ
âBut what if it does happen?â You played with the hem of his shirt.Â
Leon looked at you, âYou have me. I'll get you out of there if itâs the last thing I do. I'm not going to let anything happen to you, sweetheart. We made it out the first time, and you didnât even have me with you from the start or know how to shoot a gun. Those two things are gonna be different.âÂ
You shrugged, âI guess.âÂ
âYou guess,â he mocked before squeezing your side, âI guess you should probably pack or you're going to forget something cause youâre packing last minute.âÂ
You rolled your eyes before sitting up, âwhat? You couldnât ask someone to pack a bag for me as one last trick up your sleeve?â You joked.Â
âI couldâve but you wouldâve been yelling at someone for stealing your clothes for no reason then.â He grinned and you reached over and smacked him with a pillow.Â
âI would never.âÂ
âOh yes you would.â He laughed, sitting up, âif you would like though, I can help you pack.âÂ
You gave him a look, âlike you have an opinion on what I wear.âÂ
âI do,â Leon defended, âI think you look amazing in everything, but I would be lying if I said I didn't have any favorites. Like that black and grey plaid skirt you wore at Christmas last year.â He hinted.Â
âJokes on you, mister. That skirt has retired to Marissaâs closet.â Â
âI think it should come out of retirement for the trip.âÂ
âOh yeah? You realize how short that is on me when I bend down right?âÂ
âThatâs what tights are made for, and I have no problem dislocating jaws if needed.â Â
âit's not coming with, Leon.âÂ
He positioned himself to lean against the headboard of your bed, âcan't blame a guy for trying.âÂ
You rolled your eyes, âIâll compromise by packing a sundress.â Â
âI wouldnât call that a compromise. I'd call that an upgrade.â Leon grinned when you set your duffle bag on the bed.Â
You shook your head, âyouâre something else.âÂ
âYou didn't seem to mind that fact when I asked you out.â He smirked, crossing his arms.Â
âI donât,â you grabbed a dress from your closet, holding it out to look at it before turning it to Leon, âyes? No?â Â
Leon pushed himself off your bed and ambled over, looking through the options before he cocked his head to the side, pulling out a red gingham printed dress that came to your mid-thigh.Â
âNow this,â he looked at you, âthis is the one to pack.â Â
You grabbed it from him, taking it off the hanger gently before folding it and placing it in your bag, âthatâs your one pick.âÂ
He placed a kiss to your temple, âI appreciate you.âÂ
âI appreciate you too.âÂ
âStill hoping you pack that skirt as a bonus.â He added.Â
You pushed him away with a chuckle and an eyeroll, âwhatever horndog.â Â
Leon grabbed your wrist, pulling you back into his chest before pressing a kiss to your lips.Â
âWyoming is the one place I'm glad I was sent to, you know. I got to meet you. Best thing to come out of this shitty job.âÂ
You gave him a smile, wrapping your arms around him, âI'm glad you were too. I probably wouldnât be standing here today if you weren't.âÂ
âYou would have made it out. Thereâs no doubt in my mind. Youâre a fighter.â Leon said.Â
You ran a hand through his hair, âmaybe. I guess weâll never know for sure.âÂ
âAnd thatâs not something I'm willing to test.âÂ

âYou seen my gloves?â Leon asked you as he rummaged through a pile of clothes he dumped on the bed from the clothes hamper that sat in the corner of your guys bedroom.Â
âI'd appreciate it if you kept our dirty clothes in the hamper and off our freshly washed sheets.â You reached over and grabbed some of the clothes, putting them back where they belonged.Â
âBabe,â he groaned and you sighed.Â
âYour winter gloves or your mission gloves?âÂ
Leon blinked at you before putting on a sarcastic smile, âyes, honey, I'm looking for my winter gloves when itâs the middle of summer.â He waved his hand towards the window you had open, the breeze coming through feeling nice in the stuffy apartment.Â
âHey, with you, I never know.â You threw the last pair of dirty jeans into the hamper, âbesides, you could be being sent to Antarctica for a mission.âÂ
Leon closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose, âcan you just please help me find them?âÂ
âI told you to put them- âÂ
âWhere I wouldnât lose them. I know. I would really like some assistance in finding them so I can put them in a safe place next time.âÂ
You walked over to your husband of four months and pressed a kiss to his cheek, âdo your really need your gloves every mission? You canât go one without them?âÂ
Leon pressed a kiss to your lips, âNo, I canât. They help to keep this,â he held up his ring finger, showing his wedding band, âfrom getting lost.âÂ
You smiled, âif you would like, I can get you a chain to hang it on during missions and you can just wear it around your neck.âÂ
Leon knew that you were slightly joking but serious. He had bought you one of those ring holder necklaces from when you took off your engagement ring at work because you were moving a lot of heavy things around and you didnât want to damage it.Â
You were in tears when you got home that day and looked down to see your ring missing, trying to remember where you had set it. Praying to God it wasnât in the bathroom of the grocery store you were at after work because it'd be long gone. Leon trying to calm you down and walk you through the day.Â
Your coworker had called you saying that you had left it there, and she tucked it inside a little baggie and set it in your locker, taking off the combo lock she had on hers and putting it on yours to make sure it was safe.Â
He never had to calm you down again for misplacing your ring after he got you that necklace. Â
âI donât think a chain is going to help keep it safe if I'm getting thrown around and shit, sweetheart. I'd feel better wearing my gloves.âÂ
You shrugged, âjust leave it here.âÂ
Leon looked at you bewildered, âtake off my ring and leave it here?âÂ
âIt's not like you're doing it for nefarious reasons, Leon. If you're scared of it coming off and losing it wherever youâre going, just keep it here on your nightstand and youâll have peace of mind thatâs its safe.â Â
Leon crossed his arms, âI donât want to.â Â
You sighed, âLeon, my love, if you didnât want solutions- âÂ
âI want my solution and my solution involves wearing my gloves.âÂ
You closed your eyes as if you were finding patience with a child, âbaby, you got to get going. Just set it down on the nightstand and I'll try finding your gloves while you're gone.âÂ
âNo. It's my wedding ring. I'm not leaving my wedding ring here. Itâs the one thing thatâs constantly on me that reminds me of you.âÂ
You felt your heart swell a little, âthatâs sweet but Hunnigan- âÂ
âHunnigan can wait until my gloves are found.â He turned back towards the dresser, pulling open a drawer.Â
You sighed, walking up behind him and wrapping your arms around his shoulders, âI love you.âÂ
âI love you too,â he responded, âhence why the ring stays on.âÂ
You pressed a kiss to his shoulder, âalright then. You get to tell Hunnigan why you were late.âÂ
âShe doesnât scare me.â He said as you started leaving and you paused, smirking.Â
âI'll be sure to pass along the message.âÂ
Leon looked over his shoulder, eyes trained on you, âkeep that to yourself. Husband-wife confidentiality.âÂ
You shrugged as you drifted towards the door, âI donât know, Leon. That sounded pretty serious. I think it should get reported.âÂ
âBabe, Iâm serious. Thatâs between us.â He turned to fully face you, âIngrid doesnât need to know I said that.â Leon closed the gap between the two of you and took your hand.Â
You sighed, leaning into him a little, âYouâre absolutely right, Leon. She doesnât need to know.â You smiled, giving him a kiss, âIâll go check the laundry room. Why donât you make sure you didnât leave them in a coat pocket.âÂ
Leon gave you another kiss before nodding, âgood idea.âÂ
You disappeared from his sight, and a minute later he heard your voice, âYeah, Ingrid. Leon just said the most interesting thingâŠâÂ
âI was joking! It was a joke!â He called as he turned, leaving the bedroom to run after you while you laughed.Â
No, seriously. All this love for this little blurb is crazy to me. I was not expecting this.
This was written like a couple of days before RE9 was released so I hadn't played it yet (obviously) and I was just playing with the idea of this is not the first time Leon has worn gloves on a mission so wouldn't it be a fun concept if this was why he wore gloves.
Thank you is not enough to show my appreciation for how much love this has been getting.
synopsis: things aren't looking to good for your boyfriend on his mission so he decides to call you.

Leon'sâŻfingers tapped against the wall as he held the phone to his ear, hidden away in a corner of whatever crumbling building he was in.    Â
"Please pick up. I need you to pick up." He breathed out.    Â
The ringing stopped, a muffled curse and a thud before some rustling. Â Â
"Hello?" You slurred, voice thick with sleep. Â Â Â Â Â
"Hey, sweetheart. It's me." He greeted, feeling the tension leave him for a second.    Â
Some movement on your end, "Leon?" More rustling, "are you home? Do you need me to come get you? I can be there in fif-"    Â
"No, baby. I'm not back yet." He told you, sliding down the wall and sitting on the floor, "I just needed to hear your voice." Â Â Â Â
He felt that he could hear the wheels turning in your brain, trying to figure out if you wanted to ask the question. The questions you've asked so many times when he's come home safe but right now he wasn't home and safe. He wasn't even at a hotel.Â
You and Leon both knew he never called until he was safe in a hotel room or at an airport. The most he'd do while on the field is send a thumbs up every once in a while, quick and easy and it puts your mind at ease. Â
"Is everything okay, love?" Â Â Â Â
There it was. Â Â Â Â Â
"Of course, everything's fine." He was lying through his teeth, and he knew that you knew. Â Â Â Â Â
"Are you sure?" He could hear the faint click of the lamp turning on, "You're not usually calling." Â Â Â Â
"I'm fine. I just..." he took a breath, letting his head fall back against the wall, "I wanted to say I love you." He paused for a second, "And remember you gotta take the car for an oil change tomorrow. One o'clock." He was trying to put a bit of normalcy into the conversation.     Â
"Leon, you're scaring me. Why are you acting like you're not coming back?" You whispered, "Where are you? What's going on? I'll call whoever I need to get you pulled out of there." Â
"Don't worry about me. I-" Â Â Â Â
"Like hell I'm not, Leon. You call me as youâre on a mission, acting out of character, and then you tell me not to worry?  This isn't funny. I'm not joking around with you. Where the hell are you? I'll come and bring you home myself if I have to." Your tone had shifted, stern, but he could hear the worry underneath it. Â
The panic you were feeling. Â Â Â Â Â
He never wanted to worry you, that was the last thing he wanted to do so it was always an 'I'll be home soon'. However, with the way things were looking right now, he needed to call you and tell you that one important thing one last time to be safe.     Â
Leon went to say something, but a thump stopped him. His eyes darted towards the door, gun already in hand, finger on the trigger.  Â
"I gotta go, sweetheart.⯠I love you. I'll..." he faltered, the need to calm you taking over, "I'll see you in a couple of days."  Â
A band-aid to ease your mind though he doubted it was going to work. He had to make it home now. He fucked up by calling you.Â
"Leon-" Â Â Â Â
The call ended.     Â
You sat in bed staring at your phone, the photo of you and Leon from when the two of you had taken a day trip last week looking back at you. He looked so at peace, a smile on his face as the two of you sat on a beach, ice cream cones in hand, eyes sparkling as the sun set in the background.Â
It was easily in your top five photos of him. Possibly the last photo you'd take of him.Â
You tossed your phone onto the bed next to you, grabbed Leon's pillow and hugged it to your chest, burying your face in it. You felt a couple of tears stream down your cheeks and you let out a sniffle.Â
"Please bring him back to me." you whispered as you tilted your head back, "please bring him back breathing. I don't care if he ends up missing a leg or an eye or has to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life just bring him back to me alive. I beg you."Â
