Two really bad pictures of my first spanish fan! I'm also attempting Dieppe ground here but I expect I will forget and go back to basic torchon eventually 😅 Anyway I'm hoping to get somewhat back in the swing of lacemaking because I didnt do much/any in the last month. Let's get cracking, i guess!

So I FINALLY got this tied and off the pillow… i love how the centre colours swap.. looks like a battenburg 😂 Can’t remember what I’ve got to start next but let’s hope it doesnt take me as long as this one!!

I've been distracted from this by some Life Disasters and some experiments with casting... but I'm back and now just have to tie ends of this. Some of my casting project is lace-related so... watch this space, I guess.

I started this yesterday but I'm already bored of it and I miscalculated the amount of thread on some of my bobbins so this is gonna be. A mess.

A -possibly- correctly-turned corner... a bit hard to tell under those pins. Either way... güd jüb self, keep going.

My mum made me this board to put my laces on (which is good bc they were previously magneted to the fridge) hahah

And all but one of my finished pieces since i first made lace in july! I only got my kit in august, but let my malaise stop me for too long. I'm on a roll now!

Another small one! I need to get some more colourful threads to work with… white/green/orange/pink is a bit of a dodgy combination

I found a picture of my very first perle lace that I made last year... this one turned out neater than my second attempt at it but I showed it to my grandma and she stole it? So i don't have any more pictures of it 😂 Also my dog bc he's a pal.

I might have to swap my worker over in a bit which i do... not know how to do. But I guess we live and learn, right? 😅

Kind of working on a draft for a bookmark pattern. No idea if it will work out, but it will be fun to try it out when I finish my current project.

I’m still unsure about leaving those hearts in, though.

Sidenote: I have learned how to add beads to my work and now I need a pattern where I can use them.

PROGRESS! PROGRESS! I'm now so tired I keep nearly falling asleep on top of this and I've had to put pins in the blocks to keep myself from pushing them akimbo as I work. Learning!!

This might also double post: about half of the time I make these posts on my phone they disappear? But anyway, this is a piece of edging: fans on one side, footside on the other. It's pretty fun to see the difference between using different thread weights, using a heavier one like this perle means it works up quicker & bigger whilst being less fiddly, but tensioning is tougher than using a light one like special dentelles. My dream is to make Gigantic Lace with Massive Thread... but I reckon it will be tough. Anyway it's nice for me to use this blog like a project book or whatever... even if I havent worked on any of my other projects since starting it 😂
