I don't think I ever got this post out the door, but The Tick on Amazon Prime really was very very good, albeit deeply divorced from earlier iterations of the character. Setting an Adam-West-style cornball crusader on a gritty, MCU-and-Snyderverse-inflected color-graded post-modern superhero setting with Worm-levels of implied off-screen cape politics and associated legal infrastructure, was a really, really, really fun dymamic. I liked that show a lot.

It's been something like 84 years since I last drew, but, looks like slapping too may adjustment layers and bullshit light sources is still my thing.
Anyway, here's a sort of test run of the Dark Winds main characters, to get used to drawing their features. And to try this color palette (tho' I often do just monochrome palettes).
man dark winds has it all. generational trauma. marital strife. complicated found family relationships. grieving the loss of a child. heterosexual yearning. a sweet 70s soundtrack. and of course the commitment to being book accurate by shooting chee as much as possible
