Does anyone know that Kakuhida fanfic where Hidan lives in a cult and was set to birth his husband's child but then tax collector Kakuzu shows up and cucks the guy? I can't find it anywhere!

One of the best pieces of horror I've ever consumed was the Poughkeepsie Tapes, beautiful and very intelligent.

But two things I noticed when searching about it were:

1. The general public believes it configures as either HorrorPorn or SplatterPunk.

2. The general public believes it is inherently misogynistic.

And both of these opinions.. confused me utterly.

How could a piece of media with little to no shots of blood/guts/viscera be SplatterPunk? How could a movie from the public's point of view be HorrorPorn?

For example let's compare the movie to the game "Demonophobia", which has the premise of a highschool girl surviving a demonic dimension, where you, as the player, have to make her survive.

Demonophobia is exclusively from the victim's point of view, showcasing the horror and fear she suffers throughout the stages and enemies encountered. Whenever caught and, or, struck by an entity, there is some form of animation of her being explicitly gored.

In the Poughkeepsie Tapes, we see the story as the public, or an outsider, since the movie is a Mockumentary.

Whenever the perpetrator commits a violent act against a victim, it is framed as an unthinkable act meant to be condemned.

It is not supposed to induce pleasure such as Demonophobia, because it is very realistic in its depiction of physical and psychological torture, whereas the game is idealized and even comical at times.

And in regards to the misogyny: What about it is exactly misogynistic if not for the majority of victims being women?

It's a Mockumentary. Supposed to copy real life documentaries. Most violent and passionate crimes in real life have women as the main victims. This is a simple line of thought to follow.

But let's say that's not enough of an explanation to justify.

Let's compare the movie to a truly misogynistic media! Megan is Missing.

The entire movie "Megan is Missing" implies that both victims are at fault for the violence committed against them, even though they are teenage girls being preyed on by grown men.

It gives the message that the victim enticed the crime, not that the criminal is in the wrong.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes explicitly tells the viewer, in ALL possible ways, that the criminal is not to be taken as righteous and his doings are to be condemned by the public.

You people need to watch your movies properly!!!
