“Repeat Rape: How do they get away with it?”, Part 1 of 2. (link to Part 2)

Reblogging because I mentioned this study in a post the other day and someone reblogged & replied insinuating that I’d made it up, but I didn’t have the citation on hand right then. As I said then: rape culture is what teaches rapists that they aren’t rapists.
^ bolded for emphasis
Keep in mind too, that the study only accounted for use of physical force, threat of physical force, and drug-induced incapacity of the victim to consent. IIRC It didn’t cover violating specific boundaries, it didn’t cover the victim wanting to stop in the middle of sex that’s already taking place, it didn’t cover ignoring signs of distress in the victim before or during sex, it didn’t cover whining until the victim gives in, it didn’t cover men in positions of authority over their victims, it didn’t cover underage victims, it didn’t cover prostituted women, it didn’t cover tricking the victim, it didn’t cover men knowing the law and sticking to specific kinds of rape that aren’t illegal in their particular state (it was a US study), it didn’t cover participating in gang rape, it didn’t cover victims who were asleep, it didn’t cover doing certain acts without first asking the victim, and it didn’t cover rape by deception. All of which is rape, and all of which could be asked without using the word rape. I guarantee that number would be much higher than 120 and that the total rapes committed would be in the thousands.
Und wunder’ dich nicht, wenn alles scheiße ist und du mich vermisst.
“Women are also rejected. Women also spend their teen years pining after dreamy boys who will never love them back. You don’t see us going around murdering people over it. You don’t see us setting up internet communities for the purpose of talking about how evil and shallow men are for not taking us to pound town. Women don’t go around killing men who don’t like them, because if you’re a woman in this society, a boy not liking you is the least of your problems. It is nowhere near the shittiest thing you’re going to be expected to “just deal with” in your life — one of those things being the fact that we are expected to “just deal with” how men are sometimes going to murder a bunch of people because they felt entitled to romantic attention from women. We are expected to “deal with” that, while never bringing up the terms “male privilege” or “male entitlement” or “toxic masculinity” and why those things so often lead to mass murder, on account of how that might really hurt the feelings of the men who have been gracious enough to not go on killing sprees.”
