Anticipation

I drew this earlier this month after staring at the Live 4 key visual for a little too long. The way Ruri's has her arms spread just made me think. I'm happy to see the western uniforms featured so much. The best and the worst things happen when they wear those. I'm very excited to learn more about Live 4!

22.04 - Happy HijiChi day! 🌸👹

You know how you will often find people drawing reports after attending live events with some of their favourite or most memorable scenes? I tried to do so after watching Live 4, except it took me 4 months to draw these (part 2 is coming eventually).

As a Hijikata fan, and a Chizuru fan, and a HijiChi fan, I don't think I could've wished for a better duo than Kubota and Ruri to portray them. They have so much chemistry that everything they do on stage feels very natural. I laughed a lot with their shenanigans... and even though I didn't see Sen's Counselling room live (I didn't get to see it until after coming back from the final)-- What do you mean girl's dream is that she wants to hold hands with her man?

Cheers during "Sake on a moonlit night". Ruri and Kubota were often hanging out, dancing together, playing together-- referencing back to the game corner that happened just before. Souji never held back on teasing him either, often rubbing it in when he lost again.

Dancing during "Sake on a moonlit night". Sano would start and Chizuru would join in, before one of the ensemble members would start showing off some dancing moves on his own. Hijikata would then - forced by Souji - after some initial protest, copy those moves. His Chizuru then joined in with much more gusto. The first show Souji threw this look like he didn't believe what he was seeing with his own two eyes.

Sen's Counselling room (28/12, noon show). Every show, one of the characters would come to see Sen and talk about something that worried them. Ruri said her Hijikata's always really cool, but with this job he's always being a little distant. So she'd really like to hold hands with him. Sen then told her she should just ask him directly. Kubota had already forgotten they'd agreed earlier that he'd come on stage, and was already prepped for the song after (Muscle Alliance). Ruri got all flustered seeing him like that. The combination between his deadpan reaction and her unable to contain her hype (she got to hold hands!) worked really well.

Sen's Counselling room. After having fulfilled her wish of holding hands with him, they (Ruri) skipped off to go have tea at this new tea shop she wanted to visit. Holding hands, of course.

It's already the 22nd in Japan, the Blu-ray of Musical Hakuouki ~ HAKU-MYU LIVE 4 has been officially released! It really is the end of an era now that the three leads are leaving. I really wanted to commemorate the occasion, so I drew the picture of the three leads and their Chizuru's that the official HakuMyu twitter posted at the end of the L4 run.

It was a lot of fun to be able to run with them these past three years. I'm going to miss them terribly, but I'm also excited what the future will bring. It's after all the dawn of a new generation.

I have mixed feelings about drawing them with Rasetsu hair when things are supposed to happy, so I drew their regular hair colour. I did my best to draw the three Chizuru's distinctly different, but Ruri's my default Chizuru... because, you know.

(I have more stuff to share, but I ran out of glazes for today haha).

Started playing Hakuouki SSL (finally !) and they make Chizuru look so so so cute in her chibi form! Look at her she is so hardworking!

We're on our way to Kobe now, but I visited the Yagi and Maekawa houses, as well as the Mibudera, with @ununotter, @liliththunder and @tofutortoise. It was so much fun, but now I'm having a slightly higher heart rate than usual.

Found a poster in the Mibudera and saw two of Kubohide's signatures, which he left behind on his visit to the Maekawa house in February.
