It was cold in the grave but the cold was clean and good and made you feel ready for the long cold that would follow through the day. I crawled out of the grave and looked out over the cemetery. There were many dead there, and they were cold too and numerous and young and brave. I thought a lot about what I would do now that I was out of the grave but it made me miserable and I did not want to think about those things for a long time.
