Using “mentally ill” as a way to explain why people are transgender or use neopronouns just shows you don’t see mental illness as a thing that needs to be cared for or respected but instead it shows you think of being mentally ill as some sort of thing to be “fixed” or rid of

And yk something else? It’s always focused on people with autism, bipolar or bpd and adjacent mental illnesses that could affect the brain differently then people are used to. I could say I have generalized anxiety (a mental illness) and people wouldn’t use that shit as an excuse for me being trans but AS SOON AS I SAY IM BIPOLAR it’s automatically “oh so that’s why you’re trans!!”

When will people open their eyes and realize homophobia and transphobia and racism, ableism, ALL OF IT is just being pushed to the public to DIVIDE US and distract us from the real fucking problem in this world, the problem of people objectifying and infantilizing those who aren’t Cis, white, straight men who have no mental health issues whatsoever (or at least none that they admit to)
