OMG I HAVEN’T WRITTEN IN SO LONG! Anyways! My first ghost fic ever! I am writing and posting a male version of this ASAP! This lil fic will have NO smut as I am a minor writing this. I will be putting any content warnings at these lil starting blurbs if there are any!
Rush hour in the ministry was not for the faint of heart, especially when you have a new papa emerging at such short notice. With Perpetua making his sudden debut it had everyone on their toes…especially a certain sibling of sin who had a passion for sewing and fashion design. A woman with silky hair sat hunched over a desk, a hand crumpling her hair as she death grips a sketching pencil. The papers in front of her had a wide variety of designs, but nothing seemed to stick. The messy scribbles that she calls handwriting littered the pages, criticizing the smallest of details. Normally she’d move on with her life and just get the project done, but this was the newest papa we we’re talking about. Her designs for Copia when he was papa were a smashing hit with the fans, meaning she had to blow these new costumes out of the water, they had to be perfect. She continued to stare at the sketch in front of her, analyzing it, a sudden knock drew her attention away from the page.
She huffs, softly shaking her head. She leans back in her chair, trying to cover her anxious posture with a more relaxed one. A taller, masculine ghoul enters through the door, ducking to avoid hitting his antlers on the elegant door frame. The taller ghoul approaches, smiling softly with his hands behind his back. A soft sigh escapes her, as a gentle smile emerges on her face.
“Hello mountain, how may I help you?”
She leans forward onto her desk, clasping her hands in front of her. From the looks of it, Mountain just came from the garden, a bit of dirt speckled on his face and hands. It always warmed her heart knowing the ghouls took pride in human activities, she knows what it’s like to not feel human. Mountain finally speaks, his voice soft as he reveals a bouquet of flowers.
“Us ghouls wanted to thank you for all of your hard work on our costumes this week, we can see how stressed you are…so we each picked out a flower that reminded us of you and your strong ambition.”
Her heart squeezes, she was a sucker for feeling appreciated. As a child she always had to work ten times as hard to get appreciation from her peers and higher ups. She slowly gets up, circling the desk. She now stands in front of Mountain, with delicate hands she takes the bouquet. Her smile widening as she gives Mountain a side hug, being cautious to not damage the delicate flowers. She takes a step back, sighing.
“Thank you guys…you have no idea how grateful I am. With everything going on with Perpetua I haven’t had the best mind set n’ all. It’s been rough to say the least.”
She shimmied her hands as she talked, portraying her rocky mood. She looks at the flowers, then back to Mountain, her eyes widened with a sudden thought. She quickly pops the flowers into a conveniently empty vase on her desk
“Now that I think about it. I already have your costume designs made and finalized. I just need to re-measure everyone just in case. Why don’t you pass along the message for everyone to start making their way down to my office sometime in the next week or two?”
Mountain hums, an amusing smirk tugging at his lips. He then shakes his head, he approaches her, putting his hands on her shoulders. He then speaks, looking down at her with soft eyes.
“How about you take a break? That sounds good to me. I’ve heard through the grape vine that you haven’t been seen at the dining hall in weeks. Your friends have even said you’ve been eating in here. Which if I remember is breaking one of your rules for your office. Don’t think I forgot how you chewed out swiss for eating a granola bar in here. Then maybe instead of fretting about us ghouls, you talk to the man whose costumes are seemingly driving you to insanity?”
Her eyes widened. Damn he just called her out. Maybe Mountain was right…a break would be nice. Mountain takes a step back, analyzing her face. She hummed as she processed Mountain’s advice. She slowly leaned back onto her desk, a hand raising to rest on her chin. After a moment of silence Mountain speaks again.
“It really takes you that long to debate on taking care of yourself?”
Mountain’s arms are now crossed, his hip popped out. Sass and sarcasm lace his words. She scoffs, chuckling, for such a “soft” ghoul Mountain could sass anyone with zero hesitation.
“Fine fine, a couple day break it is. I’ll talk to V and set up a time to figure everything out, but after that it’s measurement week! No avoiding it.”
Mountain chuckles softly. Last time she did measurements for the ghouls dew couldn’t hold his shit together, he’s always been secretly ticklish. It took a solid hour to measure just dew because he couldn’t stop squirming.
She smiles widely, clapping.
“Perfect! Now shoo so I can do my thing!”
She attempts to push Mountain out of the room, but he doesn’t budge. Mountain couldn’t contain his laughter. He takes hold of her wrists, putting them at her side.
“I think I can walk out by myself.”
Mountain chuckles one last time before turning around and leaving, the door softly shutting with a satisfying creak followed with a click. Her shoulders slump, she drags her feet back to her desk. She sits, doing a quick spin in her chair. She stops, looking at her ministry issued office phone before picking it up and dialing
