What I don’t get about DE?

What I don’t understand is how DE are supposedly in love, when they don’t even have a proper foundation for a relationship. Don’t get me wrong Damon and Elena did have a build up from season 1-3 but it was a foundation written such that Damon was always to be the third point in this love triangle whilst human Elena would always be with Stefan. I believe that Damon projected his love for Katherine from all those years onto Elena because those feelings he had couldn’t have just disappeared the way Damon let on, having allegedly moved on from Katherine. I mean 100 years plus is a long time and she did hurt him. I think when he saw Elena he saw a better version of Katherine, a vision of the life he pictured once he got Katherine out of the tomb. And in season 4 once he thought he got Elena, she was sired to him, she did everything that he said. She had the illusion of free will and picked Damon like she never even had a life with Stefan in the first place.

That leads me to believe that the sire bond made any past feelings for Stefan mainly her relationship with him from season1-3 nonexistent and by that logic shouldn’t the build-up of DE (with damon being the third point of the triangle) from S1-3 also not exist. Meaning that when Elena turned her humanity back on and wasn’t sired to Damon anymore, it made absolutely no sense where her new feelings came from like it just came out of the blue. It was like they had just jumped into a middle stage of some relationship and we never got to see the beginning of it because it just didn’t have a foundation unfortunately. Most DE fans probably don’t see/recognise this since they might just be happy that Damon and Elena are together after all this time regardless if it makes sense or not. But even after all this, I don’t see them as a couple who takes steps forward together in fact I feel they either go backwards or in circles. Like they never get anything resolved between them. Sure they have some nice moments but that’s only if you look at it from an outsider’s pov with no context of the show/story. All they do is fight, have sex, and say dramatic might I add random love declarations. I feel like they are all words but no action, well actually the only action they do have going on is sex. But yeah I feel like there are so many plot holes and at the end of the day even if I don’t get how anyone can ship them, there are still people who do however they got the raw end of the stick because when I see DE all I see are two people in a toxic and unhealthy relationship who like the idea of loving each other but by being together they just end up hurting each other more. They don’t bring out the best in each other, and no Elena doesn’t bring out the good in Damon he shouldn’t be choosing to do the right thing because of one girl, (that shows his lack of character development which all together is another conversation which I won’t do here) and Elena just blindly forgiving him and not making him earn any forgiveness? That’s not what love is, that’s just plain toxic. There is no progress with them what so ever and I really hope people don’t just support their relationship because they look good/hot together, or because they feel pity for damon or even due to some fans blurring the lines between characters and the actors’ off screen relationship. Bottom line is, if I was a de shipper I wouldn’t be very happy at the way the writers dealt with their story cause it’s so inconsistent and doesn’t do justice to the de fandom.

Starting to think Bonnie is not linked to Elena at all

I thought about it and to me it just makes no sense at all. Kai wanted revenge. He mainly wanted Bonnie to suffer, sure, and making sure she would never see her best friend again AND have her possibly betrayed by her other best friend was the thing he wanted to see. But then again, Bonnie is a witch and she lives dangerously and has died many times. And I just dont think Kai would have allowed Damon and Elena a happy ending. He hated them, specially together. Why would he let Damon have a chance for a future with her, possibly in a few years? Even if he suffered 60 years, Kai would have loved to see Damon’s face when Bonnie dies and Elena just doesn’t wake up. He’s a sadist like that. So what if Elena is linked to a vampire’s life or possibly to Damon himself? Then imagine Kai’s joy if Damon would have killed Bonnie to get Elena back but that would not have worked and he would have lost them both.. I dont know. I just think this linking to Bonnie is so lame I still hope there is some twist to it…

Imao you say bonenzo is toxic but you ship bamon? i mean you probably don't watch the show like most bamon shippers, but until enzo almost kills bonnie, literally kills her family, verbally abuses her, chokes her and deliberately triggers her ptsd (all things damon has done in cases you forgot! :)) bonenzo will NEVER be toxic. also don't call yourself a bonnie bennett stan if you support the racist, misogynist, ABUSIVE relationship that is bamon.

Dude, please settle down and let me ship what I want. But let me go through this anon of yours a state the facts, because as someone who watches the show and is a reasonable shipper, I should do that.

1. Damon almost kills Bonnie? Now this show is a fucking mess with these characters so bare with me on this. If you are talking about all the way back in season 1 when Damon bit Bonnie, let me remind you that Damon attacked Emily, he was pissed at Emily. That does not excuse the fact that he bit Bonnie but he sure as hell wasn’t trying to hurt/go after Bon herself.

2. Literally kills her family? If you are talking about when Damon turned Bonnie’s ‘mother’ into a vampire well let me just remind you that he had the choice between turning Bonnie or her mother. Either turn a 17 year old innocent girl into an immortal being and have her probably end up not transitioning anyway oooor hurt her feelings by turning her mother into a vampire who is 100% going to deal with it better.

If you are talking about Grams, you could blame that on Damon.. but Bonnie doesn’t, so why should you?

3. Verbally abuses her? Where? What show are you watching? If you take teasing and bickering as verbal abuse then please get your facts straight!

4. Chokes her? Now the only situation I can recall about him ‘choking her’ is when he returned from his endless cycle of hell and still believed to be in so called ‘hell’. The only way in the past that he awoke from that scene in his hell was by killing everyone. Damon thought that he had to do that again. Please re watch that scene and see the heartbreak in Damon’s eyes when he is hurting Bonnie. Also let me remind you that he saved Bonnie from that and was literally crying at the thought of her being dead. 

5. Deliberately triggers her ptsd? I think you are talking about when he brought Kai to see her and yeah that was a dick move and I can’t excuse that. That was fucking terrible of him to do. But he didn’t do that because he wanted to hurt her, he just did it because Damon is a selfish asshole.

6. “Don’t call yourself a Bonnie Bennett stan if you support the racist, misogynist, ABUSIVE relationship that is bamon.” WOW. That sentence made me laugh. Lets debunk what you said there because it was a lot!!

Racist: a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.Misogynist: a person who dislikes, despises, or is strongly prejudiced against women.Abusive: extremely offensive and insulting.

The Truth About Bonenzo.

– My hope is that with this post, viewers will begin to be more aware of what they watch. That they will not accept what writers feed them, without question. That they will investigate the validity. That they will take great and special care in the messages carried to their minds, and the actual happenings of the story line…

IN THEORY, with Bonenzo, the strong, powerful, loyal, and passionate Bonnie Bennett is FINALLY being paired with a vampire — a broody, bad boy one, at that! Surely it’s a recipe for SUCESS!!! Except it isn’t. It couldn’t be further…

But if you make the mistake of celebrating this supposed victory: Bonnie Bennett FINALLY being “equally cared for!” Bonnie Bennett finally in a relationship with someone “worthy” of her… you’ll miss out on the heartbreaking truths. You’ll celebrate “victory,” only to later realize you never achieved it, instead were merely distracted and deceived into a false sense of it…

TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS, yes, Bonnie Bennett is finally paired with a powerful vampire… but that vampire also happens to be THE MOST IRRELEVANT CHARACTER on “The Vampire Diaries.” :/

No, it’s not Matt; it’s not Tyler (although he’s a CLOSE second, after the disgraceful funeral the writers gave HIM! :/); it’s not Alaric! It’s Enzo. For one simple reason. NOBODY CARES ABOUT HIM!!! Damon? Doesn’t care about him. Stefan? Never cared! Caroline? Doesn’t care! Matt? SURELY doesn’t care! ALARIC DOESN’T CARE!!! … But now Bonnie does. :)

“She’s finally with a vampire, guys! It’s time to celebrate! We’ve won!,” we could be glamoured into believing. But what have we won, except our fave in a relationship with a complete irrelevant helplessly dragging down her relevance…  

TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS, yes, Bonnie Bennett is finally paired with someone who loves her and ONLY HER! But he went after Caroline first. 

THERE ARE FREAKIN COUNTLESS FANVIDS FOR THE TWO OF THEM!!!!!! People forget this, but I’m here to remind! ;) Like every guy on the show WHY, JP?! WHY?!, he once had a thing for Caroline Forbes, and what’s worst, the writers just made it disappear without rhyme or reason! For Bonenzo… This guy was jealous of Stefan, and lusted for Caroline. But he didn’t get her! Then he was jealous of Damon, and lusted for Bonnie. But, we all know how that turned out…  

If the network/writers were so determined to keep Bamon from happening, they could have just put Bonnie with Kai! Who I also don’t ship, and never will! At least he had a thing for Bonnie, and SOLELY her. At least she wouldn’t have to be reduced to the role of consolation prize in that ship.

The saddest part is that Carenzo would’ve been BETTER THAN STEROLINE! They would’ve been BETTER THAN BONENZO!!! Enzo cared for Caroline. He was so pissed, when he found out Stefan made her cry! Caroline had breakfast with him, the following episode, and enjoyed it!… While, when he was pursuing Bonnie all he did was belittle both her, and her relationship with Damon. It wasn’t romantic. It wasn’t sweet. It wasn’t hot. It was petty. And yet the writer’s really wanted me to ship that? They should’ve put in more effort… :/

It’s sincerely sad to think we could’ve had Stelena, Bamon, and Carenzo! But these show runners are more indecisive than a pregnant lady, more lazy than a high school senior, and more ignorant than a new born babe. So, Delena, Steroline, and Bonenzo it is!

THIRDLY, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY… TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS, Enzo stole Damon’s girl.

Yes, this is 100 percent true! And the most TWISTED, DISTURBING factor of them all!

Enzo made fun of Bonnie, calling her Damon’s “groupie,” calling her “pathetic.” He continuously insulted both her and her relationship with Damon, calling him her “humanity project,” “the man who spins her moral compass in a tizzy!”

And then the truth came out, and he admitted to coveting what the two of them shared, declaring he wanted it! He wanted people who’s “first instinct" would be to help HIM, no matter what! - 

He was astounded to hear she cared SO MUCH for Damon, she’d kill for him! And he took sick joy in revealing Damon’s plans of desiccation to Bonnie!

HE. WAS. JEALOUS. Painfully so! And he was SELFISH AND CRUEL, with his insults, because of it! He was BITTER. UNHAPPY. ENVIOUS, LUSTING after Bonnie’s loyalty and care for Damon! … And then he got her. He got her for himself! He took that loyalty and care she reserved for Damon, convoluted and blackened it, until Bonnie was so bitter and heartbroken, she gave everything she had left TO HIM!

IT. IS. TWISTED!!!

And you want to know the WORST PART of this twisted tragedy?!

Damon left — Damon painfully desiccated FOR BONNIE!!!!!!!!!!!! For Bonnie and for his brother! He left to protect them! To protect HER!!! And he lost her because of it…

Bonnie fell for the man who took joy in her torment. Bonnie fell for the man who lusted after the one relationship that made her purely happy. Bonnie fell for the man who never did anything but use and abuse her. Wow. It’s “Motives” with Vivica Fox!

As soon as Damon left, Enzo couldn’t have pounced quicker! Bonnie was alone and in need, and he swooped in to “save the day,” claiming her loyalty — claiming everything he’d lusted after, for HIMSELF.

This is NOT ROMANTIC! This is twisted maybe more than Delena. One of the most twisted things I’ve ever witnessed on television to date. 

This “epic romance” for Bonnie Bennett, is in reality a romance with the most irrelevant TVD character, who pursued her after Caroline rejected him and Lily DIED, — who lusted after the one good and powerful relationship Bonnie had in her life, POISONED the intense love of it, and stole it for himself.

Don’t let the show runners and network delude you into supporting such misfortune. View these storylines in their entirety. Don’t believe, simply because they tell you. You will find your mind, morals, and beliefs in quite the scary place… It’s bigger than ships.

What's your favorite Bamon scene?

definitely the bamon dinner scene at the end of 6x02. i made a post about it once: here.

but i rewatched yellow ledbetter the other day and i found so many more reasons why it’s my favorite. first off, in the beginning of the prison world flashbacks, their first night there, bonnie sleeps at her house and damon sleeps at is. she comes over the next morning, they bicker, yadda yadda yadda. but we know from damon saying “you also don’t know that you talk in your sleep” that eventually, she started staying at the boarding house. i’m sure at first they only did it because it was creepy having literally no one else around. she probably read in one room, practiced magic, ate, while damon probably stayed in a different room, drinking, sulking, doing damon things lol. they probably didn’t spend too much time together at first.

but then they started hanging out. playing monoply, tetris, making video journals where bonnie pretends to be a reporter. damon said that they talked and talked and taaaalked. so eventually, they probably read together, played some games, talked about their friends and loved ones. but i bet she still made dinner and ate by herself and damon drank his bloodbag.

little by little, they starting falling asleep on the couch together after watching bodyguard. damon drank is blood bag and bonnie ate her food, but they probably did so together. talked and talked some more. drank, opened up to each other even more. shared some laughs.

and then eventually, they got to the point of doing everything together. making grocery lists, going shopping, and eating. and after a while of them sitting down in the kitchen to eat/drink their separate meals, bonnie started making enough for two. she started setting a place for him at the table. damon stopped drinking his bloodbags and actually ate dinner with her like a human.

bamon has definitely come along way since season 1, but over those 4 months spent in the prison world they became so close, so gradually. i just love it. the first flashback is them arguing, sleeping in separate houses, antagonizing each other. and the most recent present day shot of them is eating together by the fire, relating to each other’s loneliness. being actual friends.

god i could talk about that scene for hours lol
