I like to say I'm reading Another Country by James Baldwin because I'm half way through it and I love it, but also I haven't picked it up in months. So here we are. I think I'm starting Dwelling on Dreams by The_Sinking_Ship.
I'm having so much trouble figuring this out. I am not currently in a listening to things phase. I don't remember the last time I sought out a song and listened to it... maybe I put on UNDER8ED by Pardison Fontaine? and then I probably just listened to the whole album.
Like 3/5ths of F1. Lol, my partner and I switch off picking movies to cut down on negotiation time. I don't know why I thought F1 would be good... But it was super boring, and it was like like seven hours long, we did not finish it. There was a lot of F1 racing. I don't know what I was expecting. I'm not great at picking movies. The problem is I'm extremely finnicky about spoilers and I refuse to watch trailers or read anything about a movie before I start it. It's very vibes based, it has a very low success rate.
I've been passively watching the second god-awful season of The Wire because that's what my partner is watching but actually seeing start to finish I guess would be that new Game of Thrones universe show, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms or something. I... liked it okay. I was very upset that his love interest was that woman and not the hot Baratheon that he had way better chemistry with.
For snack foods, salty, for sure. But also, I am constantly complaining that things are too salty... almost as much as I complain that everything is too sweet.
Coffee. Tea makes me so mad, why do I have so much of it! Why is it taking up so much space! Why do people keep giving it to me! Tea is so far away from my lifestyle. You know how tea people are like "You actually want the water to be 180 degrees! not boiling! and then they set a timer so it doesn't over-steep? I'm more of a coffee dumpster rat, I drink the cheapest instant coffee I can find with enough milk that it's barely hot.
I tried to make a list of all the different fics I was in progress on the other day and I think it was like eight, and then I had three other ideas later that day and started working on those. It's a mess, I don't know, I'm probably the closest/most likely to finish a thing that started as a Drarrymicrofic for the prompt Eavesdrop. I think that one is pretty much written and it just needs to be edited. But that's not the fun part! So who knows. How do people finish fics that aren't under deadline for fests? Is that a thing?
Outside of fics, I started doing some book binding! Which is great, I love it. I love crafts and sewing and paper, so it's right up my alley. I've done four so far. I've taught myself the basics of Affinity, I've been making my own bookcloth, and I just did my first bind with pretty short grain paper. My current thing to solve is how I want to do my labels (I don't have a Silhouette or whatever) and how to treat/finish/seal the cloth. I'm going to try a foil quill and printed paper for labels - see which I prefer. And I'm messing around with beeswax and acrylic sealant for treating the cloth.
