he couldn’t help but beam a smile in return, as he puts a hand to his hip. “yeah, no prob! my brother loves gardening, so I understand the dedication.” it was admirable, to say the least. i mean, taking care of a patch of dirt for months? that takes a lot patience - more than he’ll ever have.

     Sure, she was risking detention but she didn’t really care. She’d already had detention this week once anyway.

        “ I’m failing math so….i can sacrifice some time out of English to catch up.”

“oh.” well that would make sense. not being the one to judge, he simply nods. he wasn’t exactly a model student himself, so he could understand her reasons. besides, it wasn’t really his place to tell her what to do. “...I can help you if you’d like? I have lunch right now.”

“did you grow these? they’re beautiful.” passing by the fellow man, he couldn’t help but notice the gathering of flowers. while he wasn’t a big gardening fan, he could find himself appreciating it. gardening wasn’t a mere easy task, after all.

For the whole day, she had been surrounded by math lovers. MATH LOVERS… Could you believe it? She hated math. She hated it and she wanted it to die a slow and painful death. Without any prompting, she shoved the math book in front of her new table buddy. 

“Can you make heads or tails of this crap?!”

“uh--” he jolts as the book was shoved towards him. looking down, he skims the page cluelessly. “er, no. I can’t.” he says not even a few seconds after. it didn’t take much to see just how complicated this was. this was calculus, after all. staring at it would make anyone feel stupid.

all it took was her gentle voice for him to snap from his thoughts, as he gazes at her with widened specs. “oh. uh...” jumbled, he couldn’t think of a proper reply. rather, he keeps his eyes locked on her - afraid to look back into the disordered world he had stumbled upon. "w-who...?” the more he stared, the more he began to realize that this was anything BUT a dream.

“What does?” He asked, tilting his head a little. Every part of his clothing was as comfy as can be, so what could he be pointing out? He noticed the other’s gaze was fixated below him. Oh, he meant his gemstone!

“Oh this?” Sun lightly placed his fingers on it before laughing. “Nah, it’s not uncomfortable at all! It’s a part of me, actually.” That was a bit of a simplification to say the least, but he figured it’d suffice.

oh, so he can talk. well that just answers one of his questions. however, he was still as clueless, if not more than seconds ago. “...huh. is that right?” he replies, as if actually understanding by what the hell they meant. 

he supposes he shouldn’t judge, but man. it’s stuff like this that reminds him how weird people are. “so is this like...a permanent piercing?” if he could even call it that. he wasn’t sure how to call it.

                      “ Do you think If i paid a kid to eat my homework the teacher would buy it?”

“I think that’s even more inexcusable than saying a dog ate it.” he scoffs, before raising a brow curiously. “why are you doing math out in the heat anyway?” he’d understand if it was gym, but math...?

“h-hey, are you alright?” he asks, his eyes gleaming with worry. at first he had been hesitant to approach, not wanting to come off as suspicious. but seeing the kid hurt, he couldn’t just let him be.

“oh, no - it’s okay. frankly I’m not a fan of math either.” it was rare to find anyone who was. it’s not exaggerating to say that it was a universally hated subject for most. that’s why it wasn’t so startling when the girl had begun her inane ranting. if yelling could even be counted as such.

"huh?” turning, he simple casts a gaze at her. was she talking to him? he’s just going to assume yes, seeing as there was no else around. “er, maybe you’re just tired?”

“that...looks uncomfortable.” he couldn’t help but blurt out upon sight of the gem. actually, it looks more painful than anything. the gem was practically fused into the guy’s neck. could he eat like that? could he even talk? this is just taking piercings to a whole new level.
