Tell me a Story

In the land where I once lived, I was named Rapunzel. Now, in Storybrooke, I'm Lana Russell. Just like everybody else, I was put under the queen's curse and sent from my home to this world without magic. I hardly knew the queen, but I too was affected by the curse.   "Yes, it is nice here, but I’m just trying to distance myself from some people." She shrugged and looked about. "What about you? I’m guessing you haven’t been here long. Are you settling here?"

"Just passing through," he followed her gaze around the town, "What would you say to joining me at said establishment and telling me about these people. What is your name?

"Sounds alright with me, if you wouldn't mind it." Rapunzel looked back at him and the corner of her lip turned up slightly, "I'm Rapunzel, and you are?"

If anyone in California is interested in adopting a dog or a cat, Kerns County Animal Shelter ( one of the most disgraceful shelters in California ) is being shut down. Dogs are being sold for 15$ and cats for 5$ ( all are fixed with shots. )

Every animal will be put down by September 30th.

  "I’m not an expert on this town, but I have heard from some that there is an Ale House and Eatery about 4 blocks that way called the ‘Stone Point’." She tugged down the large hood of her cloak and pointed down a cobble road. "Although, I’m not the best person to ask this question since I’m really only staying in this town until I can find a way out of it."

He nodded his head politely, “Sounds like it will suit my needs. Why so determined to get out, love? Seems nice enough here.” Hook looked her over she was cloaked and covered but he could still see a hint of blonde hair. If he did not know any better he would think this girl was hiding from something.

Trespasser || itsmyfavouritepart & toweringrapunzel

Rapunzel sighed in relief as she found a foothold on the stone wall, hauling herself to sit on top of it. She straddled the stone and looked out onto the large expanses of the property.

“It’s a shame this place is abandoned, it’s actually pretty nice…” She said to herself and proceeded to climb over, dropping down into the bushes below. She pulled her hood down and her cloak off since she was well away from the prying eyes of the villagers. Her enormous and thick braid swung in the gentle breeze that rustled through the gardens. She stepped over some over grown rose bushes and kicked the dust off her boots. 

She found a small stone bench in on the pat, tucked away in the tall ferns and balled up her cloak, setting it down.  On the bench before sitting beside it. She proceeded to pick out small pieces of leaf and twig that had managed to find her braid under her cloak. She figured she'd stay here for a while before setting out again.

Regina raised a perfect eyebrow. “Can I help you dear?”

"If you don’t mind, I seem to be quite lost. Where am I?" Lana looked around her surroundings, she hadn’t been to these parts before.

Regina frowned. “These are the woods North of the town. How in the world did you get lost here?”

"I was walking and I’ve never been to these parts before. Woods aren’t exactly my forte, everything looks the same here and I can’t tell which direction to take back to town."

"Well, I suppose I’ll help you back. I finished what I was doing here anyways." With that Regina pivoted and headed in the opposite direction.

Lana hurried to catch up to her and matched her pace. “Thanks so much, I take it you like the woods? You know them so well.”

"I suppose." She had never really thought of it like that. "I’m not all that welcome in the town and I like I can be myself out here."

"Mmhm." Lana said with a nod. "I could have guessed as much. Even if you aren’t liked in town, what does the woods offer to you that solitude in your home doesn’t?"

"Life." Regina answered simply. There was so much life out in the woods that the dead silence of her home could never compare to.

"Rather simply put, but you’re not wrong." Lana said with a smile and looking at the other. "I don’t think I introduced myself, I’m Lana."

"Hello Lana, I’m sure you know who I am, both sides.Who were you back in the Enchanted Forest?"

"I do know both sides." Lana smiled and looked ahead on the forest path. "I was Rapunzel then, I don’t think we knew eachother before, but I certainly had heard of you. It is quite a change to see you like this, though."

Regina glanced sadly at the girl, just another victim of her curse she didn’t know. “Most people just me me for the mistakes I’ve made, they don’t really know me and 28 years conscious of everything really changed me. Henry helped as well.”

"Henry?" Lana asked as they walked. "The little boy, right?" She looked around the woods and let her eyes fall back to Regina.

"So are you saying you’ve been changed for the better? Or am I just hearing things?"

"Henry is my son and I’d like to think so. When you become addicted as I was to magic each day is a struggle to move past it. I’m not perfect nor am I on the good level Snow and the rest are but I try." Regina eyed the forest. "This way." she murmured turning.

Lana took careful steps, both literally and figuratively with Regina. “So Henry is your tether to the good side?” Lana smiled at the thought, how lovely it must be to have a child as good as Henry.

Regina paused. “Yes, I suppose that’s a good way to put it. He makes me want to be a better person. Through his eyes I’ve seen the hell I’ve caused and I want to make things right.”

"That's good." She said with a smile. "Actually, that's more than good, it's fantastic. Just keep hanging in there and trying and I'm sure the town with accept you once more, there's hope for everyone."
