One that got away! Ibrahim's Inspired...

Ibrahim had a technical glitch while posting his reflections on what he found inspiring but we've saved it!  Here he is, in his own words...

"What inspired me the most was the thought of working on a music project with my friends and learning a new form of dance because out with this project i am a break dance teacher and an independent musician so being opened to a new from of dance opened me up to lots of new ways of thinking and being able to work professionally on my music with my friends gave me a rough idea of what a career in music would be like."

Final Presentation!  Family members, Toonspeak core staff, Townhead Village Hall staff and board members all turned up to see the show! Catherine Ward-Stoddart participated as our Young Leader to be mentored by the professional team of artists so at the end she also presented what she'd been working on with the group.

ibrahim dikko recording experience

the studio experience for me was a step up from working with my friends in a tight home made studio to a fully furnished recording studio seeing what was doen to the tracks and the process of music being remade was interesting for me as always and i hope to experience more of this in the near future. Seeing how the studio worked and the sound engineer at work and working for a track to be finished and burned onto a disk for us really opened my eyes to the joys of working in a recording studio encourages me to chase music as a future career.

Catherine Masamuna studio experience

I found out how musiacal artists work in a professional studio from how they record their songs to what a studio looks like. We met a professional sound engineer and she showed us through the recording process. She split us into groups, helped us record it and then showed how she mixed the track. She made me feel very confident to sing in front of others as before i had been nrvous so i really njoyed the experience.

Murady Bachu's recording experience

i learned that u can mix the two recordings we done together to create the song. i thought that doing the recording with my friends was very fun because it was a new experience we got a CD out of it which i let my brother hear.

Hollie Drummond recording studio

i learned that the recording takes place in two different rooms the rooms are singing and a computing room.I liked singing with my friends because i would feel embarrassed to do it my self.I thought my Cd was funny i let my little brother hear it and he thought it was funny as well.

David Tibbs recording studio experience

I enjoyed the recording studio as it is a new experience and i got to sing along with my friends gaining a CD of us singing i learned that i have got the confidence to sing in front of people and it turned out very good :), i also found out how the computing side of the recording studio works.

Hollie Drummond Inspiration

i really enjoyed the dance workshop on Monday because i really love dancing.My favourite style of dancing is hip hop.I go to dance unique and simy every week.I really enjoy my dancing at dance unique because my teacher helps me alot. When i leave school i want to be a actress and that is why i registered to come along to arts award week :).

i really enjoyed going to the studio on the Tuesday as well because i love singing and hope to do that when i am an actress.

i like music so the part i enjoyed most was going to the music studio it showed me how hard and good fun it was to do, it gave me a good idea what it is like to be a sound engineer and how good i can sing hahahaha

Thursday - Tableaux the Story 5/7/13

Another full day of working and re-working the piece for presentation on Friday, kicking off the day by creating some snap-shots from the narrative so far - in tableau form, to help focus on the main events in the story.
