Alternatives to Tumblr if Yahoo goes any further
Soup.io - well-known alternative to Tumblr. Reblogging, post types, themes, collab blogs, dashboard, artsy, great community already there. Soup can auto-import everything you’ve posted on Tumblr.
TypePad - Includes reblogging. Dashboard and post types similar to Tumblr.
Jux - Artful posts, beautiful blogging experience
Reblogging cause one day it just may be neccessary.
As we inch ever closer to destruction.
Soup.io… kinda works, sorta, TypePad costs money, and Jux has been defunct since 2013.
But can you really argue that Jux doesn’t offer a more beautiful blogging experience than Tumblr? At the very least, there’s no autoplaying ads on the site
What about rss? Tumblr blogs automatically publish to rss feeds, so you could be able to just subscribe and see all your content ad free. It does however become more complicated to like and reblog posts, and to use the messaging feature you still have to visit the dashboard. In any case if I switch to a different platform it will be email blasts, but I just don't have the popularity to make it work yet. Every other platform is based on the same model of providing a service ad free until a sufficient userbase is formed to monetize.
Im going to start posting stuff here again :) Here are some images of "painting parties" Imagine yourself an essay about this "cultural phenomenon"! Or don't!
Specific thoughts on a half sheet of paper
Working on some circle packing, wrote out an equation, I probably won't solve it but I might write a program that uses it and iterates.
Does a homomorphism from (R,*) to (Q, *) exist? I don't know, but this is what I do know.
