Dorian is still my tiny robot son who I’ll protect until my last breath
Dorian was, and always will be, a very special character in my heart. I really wanted to play him for five years. And it hurt when that was taken from me. It hurt bad… I feel like people really connected with that character… no one connected with him more than me.
Michael Ealy (TVLine interview)
We know the hurt, Mike. Â Still hurting here.Â
May has arrived and it’s Maldonado month for the calendar! All praise the rockin’ boss of the precinct!
I’m lookin’ at her too.  The calendar in my cubicle at work keeps me sane. Â
I’ve been having this overpowering need all day to re-watch Almost Human. Man, I miss that show. What could have been.
I get that way.
Almost Human
-This was your father’s case. -The collar of his career. Right before he was killed.
Can’t think about the cancellation too much.  It brings me down.  Trying to stay positive and enjoy the 13 hours I had.
I am a bad gift receiver :(. I totally forgot to post about my second gift from AHFancon. This great felt giraffe made by tracker-chip. Pictured here with my other giraffe that I am going to call Victor since he now has a little buddy of his very own.
Aww, glad you like it! Â It was fun to make.
Did You Mean It?
I’ve just posted a new story, gifted to tracker-chip in honour of the second Almost Human virtual fancon. You can find it here: http://archiveofourown.org/works/3559580
This fic is like the deleted scenes from Dorian’s board review in Straw Man, plus more!Â
READ. THIS. RIGHT. NOW.
thenizu since you requested related pings x)
It was a thoughtful gift and I loved it. Â
I know I’m not human, and I could never be what Pelham was to you. But I’m glad Maldonado put us together.
Perfect show was perfect! Why can we never have nice things?
guess who got a Nielson Family TV survey?
and guess who is gonna use the whole thing to bitch about Almost Human getting cancelled?
GIVE THEM HELL!  I got on the FOX Reviewers Panel awhile back and every survey I’m emailed by them I use to remind them of what a huge mistake they made.Â
Throwing this out there for any of you to check out for yourselves.
An AH & Fringe similarities post
So I started watching Fringe, mostly just because it’s J.H. Wyman and J.J. Abrams- no other reason really. Fringe had 5 seasons, which I try very hard not to be bitter about, although at times I can’t help myself. I thought I’d use this blog to occasionally note similarities I see with the two series.  Of course, both focus heavily on technology and fighting crime- no surprise there. Â
I just finished season 2 episode 18 of Fringe, entitled “White Tulip”.  Almost immediately my thoughts go to the episode “Unbound” in AH where the lady purchasing a bouquet of white tulips is brutally murdered by the service bot while walking away from the flower vendor. Very easy to pick that one out. Later in "White Tulip”, it’s revealed that the bad guy has altered his body mechanically, arms and chest mostly.  To me, it strongly resembled AH’s “Straw Man”, with the man who made himself into a cyborg.
Throughout both series, the instance of food plays an interesting role, although heavier in Fringe than in Almost Human.  Fringe has some type of food mentioned in nearly every episode, with Walter wanting the particular item to snack on, or has it already.  In AH, food is prevalent less often, mostly used to add humor on Kennex’s part- i.e. the live grub/slug incident, or when Kennex eats a donut while watching his partner punch Detective Richard Paul.
In every Fringe episode I see, I notice more and more how Wyman and Abrams appear to give a nod to their loyal Fringe fans.  I’m glad for them.  In some ways it seems that they got to, in a small way, see their fave show  continue on.Â
My AHFancon gift is here!
I had to wait to pick it from the post office but it’s here! My very own Almost Human soundtrack! Many thanks to the wonderful tracker-chip for making and sending it and the card too!
My #ahfancon gift arrived!
.... and I like it alot man! Â Nope, it wasn't a leg- it was a story- a supplement to "Straw Man". Â I really enjoyed reading it. Â I'm normally not one for fanfic- just never got into it, and the whole John/Dorian as a couple thing is not for me. Â This story did not have that element. Â It was right up my alley and I loved it. Â I read it while listening to my Grooveshark Almost Human playlist. (link is:Â http://grooveshark.com/playlist/Almost+Human/93827689)
Anyhow, it's got Dorian and John and the whole gang, and it makes me happy, because this damn show means more to me than almost anything else. Â
My heart is happy.

Oh my God. Â I am wiping tears. Â Epic. Â I am beside myself with emotion. Â Connection, man- it's all about connecting with others, making a difference. Â
