New album “The Well” is out now!
A thoughtful look at Tracy Bryant’s The Well, tracing grief, craft, and the lasting depth of California rock tradition.
you can try to peer inside me but just know i’m not there
11/16/20.
One year is way too long to have gone between Six Tonnes de Chair (France) posts. I don’t know what made me think about them last night, but I see there have been several releases since I posted about the Joe Ghatt LP.
Tracy Bryant is a Los Angeles based artist who has been releasing music (and a lot of it) since 2014. Six Tonnes de Chair mentioned both Mikal Cronin and Ty Segall. Someone else mentioned Ultimate Painting. Bryant has worked with so many different and respected musicians from bands like Allah Las, Cate Le Bon and White Fence.
Much of Bryant’s discography can be found on Burger Records.

Here are some pictures of Tracy Bryant, Cameron Gartung and Piet Alder at La Syndicale! It was great to catch up with everyone and meet new faces! The atmosphere was also very unique and intimate!
Interview: Tracy Bryant
In the bathtub. Tracy, Cameron and Piet before the show at La Syndicale through my old Canon.
A few weeks ago, Tracy played a solo show as part of his European tour to present his new album Hush. La Syndicale hosted the show, and their friendly crew even made croque-monsieurs in case you were hungry (…like me after the show). The atmosphere was very unique, laid-back yet intimate.
Three years after our last interview at Gonzo in Zurich, I was very happy to meet Tracy again and catch up. Join us as we talk about Hush, writing songs with your significant other, getting in touch with Piet from the Swiss label Taxi Gauche Records, mind-reading and more. Many thanks to Tracy, Cameron, Piet and everyone at La Syndicale for their kindness!
What have you been up to these past couple years?
Tracy Bryant: I started recording Hush when the second record came out in 2017 – so it has almost been two years since I started recording this album!
Wow that’s a lot! Do you sometimes get fed up playing the same songs for a long time?
Not really, but I know a lot of people do. Working on the songs, taking them home, listening to them and thinking “this is good, but it needs a different guitar” you know what I mean, and taking them back to the studio to re-record them… I like that process.
