Untitled Trad Wife Horror Project
This blog is the aesthetic inspiration for an idea I’ve had for a trad wife horror movie ever since the Ballerina Farms article came out. I’m still working on details, but here’s a short summery of my thoughts:
After meeting the man of her dreams, Trad Wife (currently unnamed) moves out West to begin her family and start their own farm (financed by Trad Husband’s wealthy family). Surrounded by fresh mountain air, and miles from the next closest neighbor, Trad Wife is initially thrilled to build her new life with her husband. With lots of paid help to work on the farm, she can focus on raising their twins and studying the Bible. However, Trad Husband is eager to prove himself and his wife as homesteaders, and begins delving deeper into religion. When her husband begins letting workers go in order to exercise more control over the farm, she is worried that she won’t be able to keep up with raising the kids and her ever growing chore list. Concerned that his wife isn’t fulfilling her role in the marriage, his expectations of her build until she feels suffocated.
