“My wish may be a luxury, but I want to give my life to you as a knight.”
Indie. and Semi-selective Lancer from the Fate/Zero series
Lancer / Diarmuid Ua Duibhne

sabre-masquee:
⚔ - Masked Saber
“I’ll be honest. My knowledge of lance fighting is limited as there were very few different styles in my time of fighting… mindless beings.” She stated. Even during her time with her father’s army against Walhart and Plegia, the fighting lances was limited.
“I was hoping to spar, if not learn how to spear fight with you. According to this world, I come into contract with a lance in some manner.” The woman gave the other a gentle smile.
It was a bit of a situation as Diarmuid found it hard to oblige her offer unless she showed him reason to fight back. “You do realize that as a Saber class, one cannot simply switch to another weapon, correct?”
Diarmuid didn’t quite want to fight unless she was an enemy, after all they were both on the same side with no true form of friendship yet formed.
“Please do realize that I spar with only those I find I can trust or have strong bonds with.”
wariixa:
⚔ A whole day? Altera’s features flashed in sudden surprise-anger-defiance as the realization that she wasn’t getting rid of him struck her. Her finger once again tapped against her upper arm, her eyes narrowing.
… Quite a bit of time passed… of her staring at him… She suddenly yawned, a small yawn, and when her lips closed again, her eyes were tired. Her head felt heavy.
Remaining where she sat, Saber gave Lancer once last look before pulling her legs off the table in front of her, and leaning forward, resting her chin on her arms… and closing her eyes to sleep.
Just because Master told Lancer to talk to her didn’t mean that Master had told Saber to talk back. He could sit here and look at her all he wished. She did not have to play this game.
Diarmuid did not fail to see Altera’s mix of emotions flash across her face, but he simply only paid half-attention. That was when the most tense and awkward moments of their ‘chat’ occurred. She stared at him like a king staring at a peasant, like the smallest speck of dust on her blade.
While Diarmuid was busy not looking at her, he could hear a yawn. In a moment, his eyes flew back to her already shifting her position.
Just then and there, he had an epiphany. Just because Master told him to talk to her, Master never specified at what volume or what he couldn’t do. He began speaking under his breath about home to pass the time, the little moments of his life that he appreciated at least before his death and what his hopes were for the future of his time there at Chaldea. Sure, he looked like a madman, but it was the only thing he could do to keep him sane.
cremehild:
❝ If I may ask, to what will you do of it once it’s reach your ears? I wonder. ❞ Kriemhild continues her walk with no means of stopping. She was on one of her mid afternoon strolls to which she’d settle down for some tea and bread if Marie Antoinette would have her once more. The man before him, she knew little of and despite the respite of being safe within the walls of Chaldea. It was still strange for a servant to ask another of their name sake.
“I find that it’s a formality of this era’s type of cordiality. I do apologize if I have stepped out of line. I was under orders from Master as a way of becoming ‘friendly’”
It was a wildly reckless command but, how could he resist his own Master? After all, he had been forced to speak with Altera for a day, and that was a rodeo he would never want to try again. But if Master hadn’t commanded him, he’d be stuck to them like glue as a personal guard.
glassgardenn:
“I’m quite alright. Unfortunately, Saber’s master seems to have run off somewhere. I was unable to interrogate her.” Saki knit her brow and tapped her fingers idly along her chin. “Somehow, I still feel uneasy about the whole situation, but for now we can begin heading back.”
“Understood, Master.” Diamuid did not question her choice to try and interrogate Saber’s Master. No doubt, that person would run to the church to find asylum. It made him feel sick but he would ignore his own thoughts and proceed to lead the way back home.
“They have perhaps returned to the church.”
brynhildrofromantia:
Pursed lips were tight, scowl embedded upon her face as her eyes would briefly flicker from his feet toward his face once more. There was a questionable thought within her head, uncertain as to why he wished to approximate the distance between them. Close in the gaps and allow himself further turmoil if she allowed herself a moment of respite… Ending in possibly wanting to kill him. ❝ What are you doing? ❞
Stopping dead in his tracks, there was no denying that something indeed was off. Straightening up, he couldn’t quite place a grip on this woman who was clearly Brynhildr, but not quite her, perhaps an Avenger class? He pondered his options, perhaps if he were to disengage somehow...
“My apologies I did not mean to seem aggressive or assumptious. That was rude of me on my own part. I mean no harm whatsoever.”
heiwanoryu:
Close combat was her forté. Her retainer, Gunter, trained her in the way of the knights. Be skilled in many and focus on one. As he got closer, the strange transformation ended. It was just her hand sticking out for a few seconds, and it heralded a small huff. As he neared her, she pushed her feet to the ground and braced for strikes. Judging from what he’s done so far, she was more defensive. Could he go offensive? What if she tried to turn the tables during a clashing of weapons? There was only one way to check.
Part of her was annoyed that she couldn’t use more of her ability. Perhaps it was for the best. She could do so much damage to him and it wouldn’t end well. Her Noble Phantasm was… quite dangerous. Weren’t they all? She disliked using hers, so perhaps it was the best her mana was silenced.
Going into battle the way Diarmuid was doing was quite a large gamble. He used swords at one time and knew their capabilities. There were limits to it’s uses in terms of range. But this sword could project power and spells from it.. He’d be on his guard as his burnt foot struck the ground. The ground underneath his foot visibly indented. Pain shot up him but he gritted his teeth and ignored it. The ground tossed up dirt as a result.
Diarmuid charged forward into dangerous close proximity, and feinted with Gae Dearg. He’d expect a strike at his crimson red spear, but instead would strike at the last second with Gae Buidhe.
glassgardenn:
Saki’s eyes struggled to follow the Servants as the battle went on. Despite it having taken around fifteen minutes, those minutes seemed to stretch, her heart pounding wildly against her chest. She released an anxious breath as her servant walked over seemingly unharmed. “For a moment I was worried. It relieves me to see you without any grave wounds, Lancer.”
To those who fought, it felt like mere seconds, when outside of the fight, time seemed to move so much slower. It flattered him that she would be worried about him, but he was a knight.. it was his duty to make sure she was safe and to take out enemies.
“Thank you, Master. It was nothing too troubling. What of you? Are you okay?”

brynhildrofromantia:
❝ …. I know truly who you are… As any hero that dwells in my heart should.. Yet… How is it that you… You act as if… You know me… ? ❞ Brynhildr’s gaze held that of disinterest, though there was a hint of anger that held in bowels of her feelings. She turned her head, allowing for threads of hair spread itself across the air around her. Brynhildr’s body stayed curt, as if to say her position was held and she was to keep it best she could. After all an instructed order, was one she was well prosed to keep.
Nope, something was definitely off. Diarmuid was sure of it. Focusing hard, her reaction was not normal. Disinterested look, some form of tension seemed to rise on her end. Perhaps he would take a gamble.
“Ah, so you know me then. My apologies for assuming that I knew you.”
This world was weird, but he would be on guard as much as possible to ensure that Brynhildr would not strike. Perhaps if he were to attempt to get closer.. how would she react?
Taking a step forward in a careful manner, he made an effort to appear as harmless as possible.
@brynhildrofromantia
“Oh hey Brynhildr, what are you doing out in the field? I thought you were unable to come with me.” His eyes made contact with who he thought was his Brynhildr, but for some weird reason he felt a little off.
@cremehild
“If I may ask, and please do forgive me if this is rude, but what is your name?” The woman who stood in front of her seemed like a person he would find himself talking to, perhaps knowledgeable and wise.

A clash of steel as Lancer fought Saber. It was fast, much too fast for anyone to really process what was going on. But sighting an opening, he struck the other down. The process took a little over 15 minutes.. Cleaning off his Lance, he walked over to his Master.
“The deed is done.”
@flowering-magi
“So you mean to tell me that a computer is something that contains most if not all information about the world?” Diarmuid was confused, how did all that information get inside of such a small computer?
