Bought new glasses from Warby Parker and tried I some things at UO today. Didn’t end up buying this outfit but my glasses will be here in 7-10 days. Felt pretty damn good despite not having binded in months… 👌🏽
We're looking for trans videographers of color who can film and photograph Trans Youth Leadership Summit in Los Angeles July 23rd and 24th! We pay! Priority goes to Black folks, trans women, youth, and people who already have equipment.
If you’re interested, contact us at tser [at] transstudent.org
The alternate title to this piece is: “15 Gender Non-Conforming Poets That Will Inspire You to Eat Glass With Your Hands,” a title that came about after a brilliant GNC poet (*cough*Linette*cough*) commented on the lack of gender-queerness on a plethora of recent “Top 10 Poets” lists. As a queer poet of color, I understand the frustration that accompanies a lack of visibility within an artform and community within which we fight to make ourselves seen and heard. I hope this list honors these poets, their work, and the wider non-cisgender poetry community.
Pride & Prejudice: Challenging Transphobia Within Queer Spaces
by Polly Anna Rocha
“ With the national conversation about LGBTQIA* rights being almost entirely centered on cisgender gays, lesbians and occasionally bisexuals, trans people are put on the back burner of a movement that was started when Marsha P. Johnson, a Black trans sex worker, threw the first brick at Stonewall.“
My first piece for San Antonio Current is up online! Artwork by @pervigile.

I had been intending on writing up articles but I’ve decided instead that I’m going to shoot videos on different subjects.
For this first video, I discuss some different cameras and types of camera, as well as briefly mention different film formats. If there’s a specific topic you’d like me to cover please let me know and I’ll add it to my list of video topics!
So ive felt like shit since surgery, so i finally put on my skinny jeans and all that jazz, but it hurts to wear them because of the incisions, so i took these and had to change. Stupid surgery 🖕

I’m in need of help on creating a short documentary on transgender representation in the media.
I’m currently doing a documentary project for my college course and I thought I’d create something that informs audiences of what transgender representation means in the media. However I’m not sure exactly where I want this study to go. At first I was concentrating on something that would discuss cis actors playing trans roles but I thought it could be a little too opinionated and I wouldn’t know where to look to get both sides of the story.
Basically I want to discover the opinions of my interviewees and what they feel is important for the future of transgender representation in films, tv etc. I know it’s a little general at the moment but thats also where I’d like to ask for help.
There are so many factors I know I need to consider, and for a 5 -8 minute film, I really want to get it right. I’m not aiming for an opinionated conclusion out of it, but more rather a showcase of opinions for an audience, and for myself, to think about.
If theres any advice you could give to me, any criticisms or you would like to be in the film in the form of a skype interview or any other form of contribution, then please message me through the tumblr messenger or send an ask to either my film blog, @filmsandphotosbysillykiid or my main blog, @sillykiid or message me on my Instagram. If you wouldn’t like to contribute please spread this round! Anything helps!!!
As an aspiring filmmaker I want to gain a better understanding of this topic for when I’m able to create bigger work and, as a transgender person, I want the chance to positively represent us in my art. I hope any of you can help and thank-you for reading such a long post.

it’s been almost a week, and i still can’t stop thinking about this quote. i wanted to make this as a type of support and reminder through all this tragedy, that no matter what they do to us. we deserve to LOVE, we deserve to LIVE, and we deserve to EXIST in a world where so much is against us.
part of the profits made from these will be donated to the victims in orlando. it’s been a long week, but i know this quote from @linmanuel really stuck with me the whole time. good words, man.
