anyways fairy tail genuinely absolutely sucks actual dick btw just putting that out there i talk and draw and write for it bc its a childhood comfort and i have a hyperfix but its genuinely the grossest nastiest worst written shit ever.
mashima cannot even artistically differentiate the characters from his newer series to his older ones, fairy tail has multiple references to racist caricatures, every woman in the story is constantly getting sexually assaulted for “comedic purposes” not to mention the gross fucking treatment of wendy, one of its main romantic pairings literally consists of a woman harassing and stalking a man obsessively and the braindead limpdick drooling fans eat that shit up like candy, erza is constantly getting assaulted or humiliated for either “comedy” or what im convinced is torture porn, and the plot is just shit. the story is shit.
like sorry i guess but if mashima wanted to have erza go through all this shit he should have at least addressed it through her character somewhat more realistically instead of “power of friendship!!!” like its getting boring its getting boring and i get that this is a shounen i just really didnt sign up for reading literal torture porn when i opened your damn manga. grays and natsus relationship is never talked about apart from the times natsu is literally stopping him from killing himself, gray and lucys dynamic cannot ever be expanded on without juvias annoying ugly fucking character interrupting, and i cant fucking remember half the alvarez group names if you had a gun pointed to my head.
and ykw i wouldnt even be mad if it wasnt for how good it COULD have been. lucy was the main character until she got watered down to what was basically a side character behind natsu, the tower of heaven arc and galuna island arcs were amazing ways of introducing erza and grays backstories, and lucy and aquarius’ moment in tartarus was good. and then they reduced grays character to juvias love interest and they reduced erza into either 1. torture porn or 2. op fighter that has a cutesy side whos real depth is never spoken about.
like what… ok. dont even get me started on 100yq and the absolute disaster mavis and zeref was. the way the “main four” dynamics were weirdly forced… felt like 100yq was more a fanfiction than a real sequel and mavis is literally in the body of a thirteen year old we literally could have gone about this any other damn way but Ok. Ok. her “im smart” shtick was bullshit too she never really helped with anything and i dont even fucking remember what zeref was about all i know is that hes annoying and gay looking. and what the fuck was up with acnologia?? suddenly giving him a sad backstory at the end?? just beat his ass and go i dont care fuck off
also the way grays character is written in the invel (??) fight and in 100yq… they rlly reduced the best character down to juvias love interest lol its pathetic and its gross and i have literally just decided to stop reading the sequel from how boring repetitive and predictable it is. “juvia is my will to live” “i dont care about being happy i care about making juvia happy” ok. so what you did here was you took a suicidal character and made his entire lifes purpose a woman who stalked and assaulted him on many occasions just because she did the bare minimum as a guild member maybe once or twice. consider killing yourself instead.
and also the whole juvina shit i dont give a fuck. dont give a fuck what is it about mashima writing these characters and making them guilt trip gray into feeling bad for a girl that literally masturbates with soap sculpted to look like his head im sorry she needs to be put in a jail cell. erza and grays relationship was so cool until she started preaching to him about how he needs to “give juvia an answer” girl he has GIVEN her an answer and it is NO. MULTIPLE TIMES. but hey love at thirteenth attempt of unreciprocated sexual advances i guess? die lmfao just die its so weird and forced and 100yq style is ugly as fuck anyways
