Updates!

So I updated my important dates post and today my best friend, her little sister and I ran around to get some legal stuff done. Since I got my birth certificate amended a few months ago to reflect my name and gender change I have been putting off changing my gender marker in Georgia because of the stupid laws and restrictions here for trans* individuals but today I sucked it up and was going to get it done. We all first went to the SSI office where it surprisingly took under an hour to get in and through with everything. The lady there was really nice and chatty, trying to help me change my gender with them (which I didn’t even know I had to do until a week or two ago) so after some confusion on both our parts my gender is totally changed with the SSI and will be getting a new card in less than two weeks! So on to the DDS place~ The one in Athens here is full of jerks so we all road tripped 3ish minutes away to Lawrenceville and I was determined to get my gender changed on my license. I got through the line pretty quick and the lady who asked why I was there didn’t seem too phased by why I was there which was my major concern. When I got to the window, to the lady who was going to work with me, she was super nice and was making a joke about how I didn’t want a free sex change. Apparently she thought I was a cis* male and apologized on how my gender marker was wrong and thought it might cause some confusion if people saw my “wrong” id because I’m obviously male. I told her nothing about me being trans* and just let her correct it at no cost to me (I thought it was going to cost money!). So it was a quick change and she was telling me stories as well about her day and we were cracking jokes with each other. She took my picture and told me my permanent one would be in the mail soon, then wished me a good day! After I left, I was kinda in awe from it all an proceeded to tell my best friend and her sister what happened, which they just laughed and we celebrated on me now legally being male! It was amazing and kinda hilarious that she thought that they made the mistake since my birth certificate said male and I look like a guy. So long story short, I am officially legally male and almost all crazy legal changes are done (all that is left is insurance companies).

Since today is Transgender Day of Visibility, I decided to throw up a comparison picture to celebrate how far I’ve come and how much happier I am today to finally be myself~

I trimmed the bald spots and then realized I missed some/ already had stubble after shaving. My beard is looking awesome though!

A FtM's Journey

I finally finished making my website about my transition. It includes the whole story of coming out, pictures, videos, and a fundraiser button for surgery. Chest hairrrrr 14 months on t I’ve officially become the guy with chest hair poking out if his shirt (trust me there is a ton more than this too)

14 months on t and I’m a hairy dude! I’m still waiting on more facial hair and mustache growth though~
