Rotating Bolaire and Julien in my head like puzzle pieces to see where the edges match up.
Fascinating that we're 28 episodes in and only just now touching on this. They're pretty much the only two people (with maybe Vaelus) on Team Thjazi Was a Jerk.
Bolaire was his drug dealer... but why? It didn't sound like it was for money. Who is 'we' in 'we supplied you with distractions and drugs'. I can't see either of Julien's parents being on board with distracting their son, they both seem more 'discipline' types. Did Julien have some dirt on... someone?
(Alternative theory, just like Royce lost some of their powers when the gates closed, we've had more than a few hints that Julien has strong ties to the fae, he's not of House Royce but it's possible that he had some sort of connection severed, very possibly blaming Thjazi, and, going through something resembling withdrawal, turned to drugs that seem to have come from a different plane of existence?)
But it was more than that, because Julien didn't react much at all to the "Breath if you remember how, silly boy. (exasperated, fond)" If anything he DID calm down, somewhat. The ONLY person we've seen able to talk to Julien like that is Lady Aranessa.
Contrast this to Wick trying to help sooth him and getting a fist in the face for three points of damage for his troubles. (first PvP damage of the game?)
Something in the quiet hopeful little 'can you get me drugs' just didn't strike me as traditional addiction behavior.
Also Bolaire seem FOND of him on some level. He is genuinely trying to help him and empathize with him going through Some Shit.
Bolaire has clearly seen Julien (and potentially assisted in putting Julien in) Situations.
Does he know Julien sees himself as a weapon?
Not as powerful as Bolaire, but crafted as a weapon none the less? Bolaire was the youngest, and then the only, has he found himself a little brother in Julien? He comes across as protective in a way and Julien allows it in a way we haven't seen before.
"You are so important, your family is so important." Did Hal teach (or remind) Bolaire about the importance of family? Was the importance of his family that Hal loved them, or was it the love he saw between Alogar, Shadia and Hero?
Bolaire was created to love his siblings and destroy Gods and he's all out of both.
Termina needs to create more gods to kill.
Does Bolaire need to create more siblings to love?
