So as you might know, my mother died last December. Due to the circumstances I've had some (big) unforeseen expenses. I'm trying really hard but I've missed work a couple of times due to dealing with mental illnesses and grief. My friend is using expired insulin … because he can’t afford new insulin…. he was recently diagnosed with diabetes and doesn’t qualify for medicaid because he has a minimum wage job and in his state that means he makes too much money …

which is absurd because he only makes enough money to pay for rent and utilities and food… now he’s expected to pay hundreds of dollars a month on insulin … with no medical insurance.

he needs $200 for insulin and needles and didn’t want to ask anyone for help and instead was making himself more sick, because he is new to having diabetes and didn’t understand how severe the consequences of it were

for those of you who don’t know using expired insulin is very dangerous and can kill you.
