Back in 2014, Vans dropped a full Vans x Star Wars collection featuring six shoes from the Classics line decked out in Boba Fett, Yoda, Darth Vader, and Stormtrooper graphics.

To announce the drop, they shot a promo video at the Vans Off The Wall Skatepark in Huntington Beach, set in 1980 — a fictional skate contest with a very special entrant: a rookie Wookiee.

That Wookiee was Steve Caballero

Cab skated the bowl in full Chewbacca costume, but it wasn't exactly comfortable. He was nursing a foot injury that required a cortisone shot the day of the shoot, his back foot went completely numb mid-session, and at one point he bailed, ripped a hole in the seat of the suit, and just had to keep going.

The cast backing him? Christian Hosoi, Tony Alva, Jeff Grosso, and a crowd packed with Stormtroopers and Jawas.

The collection hit stores in June 2014. The video dropped May the Fourth. Naturally.
