Took this on my run this morning.Ā
Every time I had to stop and catch my breath I found something to take a picture of.Ā
Rainy season = lots of boring days at home binging on Netflix. Also, getting paid of the last day of the month = sitting at home binging on Netflix.
Went to the store and almost every time we walk back to our apartment I try to take a picture of this house. Today was cloudy and it took a lot of editing just to get it bright enough.
I havenāt had a good margarita since we left and was better than anything i had. No gross margarita mix. I usually donāt even like salt on my rim, but I needed it because the tequila was so strong.Ā
Jon got a cubra libre. Never really liked rum and coke because iāve never had a good experience with rum, but whatever liquors he had made everything taste so, so good.Ā
I had two places I really wanted to go to in Sendai and that was the Miyagi Museum of art and this place; Casa Del Sol.Ā
Fifth floor of a building that we almost kept walking past. The whole restaurant is one small room, but everything was so amazing. Small portions, but it gave us a chance to go walk around and find another place to get food from. Some of the best mexican food iāve had in Japan and even better than iāve had back home.Ā
Walking back to the city from the museum we stopped at 7-11 and found a place to sit down because my feet were killing me. The second we opened our food the cat on the right showed up and two seconds later the other cat came. That one ran off, but the one on the right sat and stared at us the whole time. Almost shoved him in my backpack and took him home with me.Ā
Miyagi Museum of Art.Ā
My favorite paintings were a whole room of dinosaur and plant paintings. There was a special exhibit going on and we bought a few postcard prints to hang on our wall. It was very big, and really confusing to walk around, but really pretty despite getting lost.Ā
I had been researching things to do in Sendai since we left, pretty much. The only thing we didnāt research was the bus system so we had to walk half an hour to get to the art museum.Ā
Currently train blogging. On the way home from an impromptu trip to Sendai. This is what the train ride looks like from our town to Sendai. The only thing that seperates us from a good city is mountain. The train ride isn't bad but the seats are a little too close together so they make my knees hurt. I didn't take many pictures from today, but I took a few. It was a really nice day where we didn't get mad or upset at anything and we did everything we wanted to do and had two dinners. The WiFi is dead and my phone is about to die so I'll post pictures when I get home and the WiFi turns back on.
Waiting for our train on top of Sendai station (at JR ä»å°é§ Sendai Station)
Two hour train ride from Yamagata to Sendai. Totally worth it.
Another park, more food.
Sunday is grocery day. 7-11 snacks at the park before we ride our bikes to the store.
On our walk this morning.Ā
We've been up since 3:30 am! Not sure why, but we tried to fall back asleep for an hour.Ā
Gave up, watched Netflix and then decided to walk around town and get conbini breakfast.Ā
Gloomy/rainy/cold day.
Our internet stopped working for a few hours, but now itās working again. It stopped raining, but its still cold and gloomyā¦and windy. Iāve been knitting and watching Harry Potter. We brought a ton of DVDs to watch when we first got here because we didnāt know how long it would be until we got WiFi. Theyāve came in handy.
Iām probably going to make some tea. I ate a snickers bar for lunch and now my stomach hurts from the snickers bar.
These are from when we first got here! In Tokyo.Ā
We, mostly me, stayed in a placed calledĀ āKurumi Weekly Mansionā. It was the cutest hotel and it had a fully equipped kitchen. The beds were so comfortable and the tv rotated. I think I left the room two or three times when I was by myself. I was jet lagged and scared and Jon was in Narita doing training. I would wake up around 5 am and then take a nap at 2 pm and then I would wake up around 7 or 8 and then fall asleep whenever. It was really rough and I missed being home and Jon being going I think was the roughest part. We wanted to leave together, but we needed up being alone still. Despite being alone, I enjoyed being in this hotel. If we had stayed anywhere else I think I might have went insane.Ā
We really wanted to take Evan here when he comes to visit, but of course, thereās a festival when we want to take him to Tokyo and almost every hotel is booked.Ā
