Donation update (again?)

So, dusting off this blog again was completely unexpected. Hi, everyone! How are you all doing?

About a week ago, somebody spent $15 on the zine (which is still up for download, by the way!) and, this being the first sale made in quite some time, I had to scramble to figure out where the money should go 💀💀 Unfortunately, the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which is the charity all previous sales were donated to, was closed down sometime in 2021, which meant I couldn’t go with that.

So…I figured Doctors Without Borders would be an equally fitting option for the spirit of the series! All the money that wasn’t taken by Gumroad was donated, as shown below.

That’s basically it! I wasn’t expecting to make another post after almost four years of inactivity, but I guess one specific person made it necessary for transparency’s sake.

See you guys again if there’s another donation, I guess?

Hey all! I’ve been away doing other things and sort of forgot to post this. I was part of the @traumateamzine (as you probably saw me reblogging) annnd this is my piece. Now I’m back to vanishing for an unknown amount of time and staring into the void. Later!

Also I wanted more nods to previous games but all I got in was Savato. Oh well.

Donation Update

Hey again, everyone. I just wanted to make this post in order to let everyone who donated know for SURE where their money went! The payout was issued toward my account today,

And I donated all of the money received to the COVID-19 fund.

If any more money comes my way, I’ll be sure to update everyone. Until then, thank you all so much for supporting us and supporting COVID relief.

thank you so much for organizing this! i wasn’t really aware of it since the tc fandom is so spread out + i’ve distanced from social media due to my worsened anxiety but this just made me really happy! it’s so nice to see that people still love this game and especially such wonderful creatives!!!! that’s really all i have to say! thank you :)

Of course! I’m so glad to hear that this project had such a positive impact on you. It really is nice to know that ten years later, this game still has a dedicated, if not niche fanbase.

since everyone else is doing it, here’s my piece for @traumateamzine. fitting this is the only thing i’ve drawn in like a year oops

happy 10th anniversary, Trauma Team. This game came out right at the end of my freshman year of high school and I distinctly remember getting it right after release and playing it in the basement as my finals ended. Who would have thought ten years after the game where monarch played such a major role I would be pursuing a Ph.D. in bug science

Money Update

Hi, all! The zine’s been up for about two hours, and we’ve already gotten over 40 downloads, which is just...unprecedented. It’s crazy. I can’t thank you guys enough for it.

However, a few people have decided to donate some money towards the zine. I was initially hesitant to accept this, as our mission was to make a nonprofit zine that anyone could enjoy from the start. (Plus, monetizing the work of others always falls into a bit of a grey area, yadda yadda.)

Fortunately, we came to a consensus on what to do with the money. All money donated towards the zine, no matter how big or small, will be donated to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund! There’s not really a better use of the money, especially for a zine focused around a hospital released during these current circumstances. 

This isn’t trying to pressure anyone into donating money, don’t worry about that! If you can’t, or don’t want to give anything, that’s absolutely fine. This was planned to be a free project from the start. However, I thought it would be a good idea to be as transparent as possible with where the money is going, for those curious. 

Thank you all so much for downloading the zine! I really hope everyone enjoys all of the hard work that went into it.

The zine will be live on Gumroad around 1 pm EST tomorrow, so be sure not to miss it! Downloads will be open for around two months, so there’s plenty of window to get yourself a copy.

How can I get the zine? And how am I supposed to read it. Sorry I have a small brain. (*´ー｀*)

It’s okay! There aren’t any stupid questions, don’t worry.

Starting on the 18th of May, there will be a Gumroad link that allows you to download a free PDF copy of the zine. You can open it in almost any document reader! It’s also okay to get a print copy or two made for personal use, as long as there isn’t any sale or redistribution going on. You’ll have to do this printing on your own, however.

How long will the zine be available for purchase? I really want a copy and I'm worried that it will be unavailable for me to purchase when I'm ready to buy it.

Hi! I really appreciate the question!

Starting on the 18th, the zine will be available for download on Gumroad for free! There’s no fee attached whatsoever. We intended this to be a fan project that anyone can enjoy, and as such there’s no reason why you can’t download it when it’s available.

Not quite sure how long said distribution will last yet. At the moment, I’m thinking a month or two will be sufficient.
