Fossil Creek near Strawberry, Arizona.
Browns Peak near Tortilla Flats, Arizona. Browns peak is the highest peak in Maricopa County sitting at 7,657'. To get to the peak is a very strenuous hike up Cree Chute which contains very steep walls along with loose rocks. Unlike most trails, it is easier going up than down on this one. Once at the top, Roosevelt Lake is to your east and if you look closely, you can see Mount Humphries in the distance.
Canyon Overlook, Zion National Park
Tired of seeing Zion pictures wishing I was there. Next big trip, this is where I am headed!
Wave Cave in the Superstition Wilderness. This cave is amazing to see. It at least goes back about 60' from the entrance and as a reward, its about 30 degrees cooler inside. The best part about it is the rock formation at the entrance resembles a wave.
This was on my list to do for quite some time and finally made it. Do not underestimate this hike. Its flat most of the way but keep in mind your walking through a wash for 10 miles. The switchbacks on the way out is the real killer. Pictures of the falls you see online are beautiful but once you see it with your eyes, its a whole another level of amazing! This hike is a lifechanger and will ruin all your future hikes because nothing else tops this.
Weavers Needle via Peralta Trail in the Superstition Wilderness.
Weavers Needle is a must see here in the Superstition Wilderness. Once at the trailhead it is roughly 2 miles once you lay eyes on this Huge spire! Dont stop there, continue to follow the trail to the end where you will find a lonely pine. The Needle's shadow reportedly indicates the location of a rich vein of gold, but didnt find any.
Devils Bridge in Sedona, Arizona. Makes you wonder how this beautiful rock formation was formed... The Hike is mostly flat but towards the end is quite a climb. From the actual trailhead, roundtrip is about a mile. From the parking lot you are looking at about 2 miles. Be prepared to see a large crowd since this is the most popular hike in Sedona. Get there early though, the parking lot isn't very big.
Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona.
The view at sunset here is worth the calf burn up this short but steep hike with a mile roundtrip to and from the trailhead.
