There was mist in the valley which was just not dense enough to stop the stars appearing but enough to make astrophotography pointless.

Then Wednesday night arrived and the skies cleared and the seeing was brilliant so I spent 90 minutes photographing the stars and staggered off to bed at 11:30.

At 4 AM I woke up and decided that I just needed to see the stars again. They were so brilliant by that time that I dragged my long suffering wife out of bed to see them and we stood staring in wonder at the spectacle.

I set out to photograph the moon with Jupiter close by, but the clouds had different ideas. Aerosols in the air messed with the focus too.
