Argath, I will admit that I miss you very dearly. Perhaps one day we could get dinner together, just as we did when we first met. However, I'm afraid to say that I am a bit nervous to admit who I am. Maybe one day I will let the curtain fall, but I don't think now is a good time. Unless you would rather guess who I am. (The letter is written in immaculate handwriting.)
Anemone eyes scan the letter over and over. He still cannot believe someone out there wrote this letterā and addressed it solely to himā even after the last time he read it again.Ā
Who had Argath met that he had made such a notable impact upon? Most of those he met were either deceased or held him in the highest contempt. It could not be Delita or Tietra. It was certainly not Wymond or Frances orāĀ
The name hit him like a pinstripe of lightning impacting upon the sullen, damp ground.Ā
Ramza.
Who else would Argath have moderately known in his sixteen years of life? His own mother?Ā Elaisse Thadalfus would never shy away from identifying herselfā especially not to her own son. It could not be her.Ā
It had to be Ramza. Right? Argath felt a pit developing in his stomach. Part of him wanted this to be a fluke. Part of him wanted it so badly to be truth though, too.Ā
Ramza had to be quick to drop the letter off, for he had no idea when Argath was going to return to his quarters for the night. He walked quickly away towards the bushes to hide while he saw Argath come back. He just couldnāt explain his fondness for him. Was it that he carried himself so well? Was it just his looks that made him go completely crazy? He didnāt know. All he knew was that he was very smitten for him.
At last, he saw Argath enter his quarters and Ramza quickly got out of the bushes to make it back to his own. He was sure that the guessing game was going to take some time, but it wasnāt a very difficult game to play since there was only one person that stuck around him at all, and that was Ramza himself. He just had to go somewhere, and if Argath asked him about it, then play dumb if anyone asked.
The plains this particular night were peaceful, so there wasnāt a danger to sitting by the fire and looking up at the stars. They were unusually bright tonight and he felt completely calm as he looked up to them. A soft smile appeared on his face as he did so. It would truly be a romantic night, but at the same time, he was scared to say anything to Argathās face of how he had fallen for him.
Maybe he felt the same and would initiate it instead?
