Poor @heavenlyfists has been tricked by Sora.
“No!” He harrumphed at her, positively aghast at such a ludicrous suggestion. “…We’re gonna carve it of course.”
Obviously.
Coming to the pumpkin patch, he was more than happy to dart into it, already searching around for his prizes. “C’mon, a few minutes won’t hurt. What’s the rush?”
Normally, the lives of the citizens. But in this case, Sora hadn’t actually come on heartless duty. He’d asked Tifa for help on his trip, since Donald and Goofy had to stay behind in Radiant Garden.
No, it was totally not because he and Donald had gotten into a fight over how stupid it was to head all the way back to Halloween Town for such a silly reason. At least he hadn’t told him he’d be asking Tifa along, he’d be quacking his ear off about “world order”. Nevermind that literally everyone in Radiant Garden already knew about other worlds because of their, well, World History.
“We gotta get them early, before all the best ones are gone,” he explained, stepping this way, and that, and skipping over here to look upon the choices. “Haheh, that one looks like Donald,” he decided, pointing to a short, stout one that was misshapen to vaguely resemble wings, with a wide knobbly stalk that sort of looked like a bill. “Oh, and that one’s perfect for Goofy!” He shouted, pointing to a tall, skinny one that was bent a little to the right.
And so he went, picking out a pumpkin for each of his friends in turn. One for the king, one for Riku, Lea, Kairi…
By the time he had finished his harvest, he had a whole stack of them in his arms, balancing precariously on top of each other as he stepped carefully onto the cleared path. He hefted them over as he came up beside her. “There! That should… whoa…”
As he’d peeked around his big pile, he spotted it. The big one, the king- nay, the emperor of all pumpkins! It was taller than him, and almost thrice as long, perfectly round and proportioned to be a trophy among all the pumpkin path.
“…let’s get that one!” Sora grinned up excitedly at her. “If we work together, I bet we can get it to the ship!”
He said this, of course, forgetting just who he was talking too.
