“The key to winning, as always, was looking as if you had every right, nay, duty to be where you were. It helped if you could also suggest in every line of your body that no one else had any rights to be doing anything, anywhere, whatsoever.”
— Terry Pratchett, Night Watch
1. What would it have taken to prevent your muse from becoming a villain?
The short answer is a lot. In order not to become who she is in canon, Orise would basically have had to grow up in a different society entirely. Even if she were born into a less privileged position in her home world, we’re talking about a place that not only stresses social and political advancement as something desirable, but physically builds that idea of ascent into all of its biggest centers of humanity by way of the pillars. Without her pedigree, I could still easily see Orise doing some pretty horrifying shit to climb the ranks (and probably succeeding, since it’s Orise).
It’d also do her a world of good to grow up in a tight-knit family whose members genuinely love each other, without that love being tempered by the inherently transactional, manipulative nature of highbred society (something that absolutely affects families from within as well as without). I think growing up in that kind of emotional environment, and in a society that doesn’t encourage all the worst aspects of her personality, is the minimum of what it would take to keep Orise from developing into the kind of person she is now.

“I will hurt you for this. I don’t know how yet, but give me time. A day will come when you think yourself safe and happy, and suddenly your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth, and you’ll know the debt is paid.”

Questions about Villainous Muses...
(Full disclosure. The mun of this blog roleplays an unapologetically evil muse. Have some questions related to other role-play baddies.)
1. What would it have taken to prevent your muse from becoming a villain?
2. Despite their villainy, does your muses subscribe to some sort of ethical/honor code that guides their behavior?
3. When was the last time your muse cried for someone else’s sake?
4. Are there any ethical/moral lines your muse will not cross?
5. Mun, you could have spent the time and effort you dedicate to your museIf roleplaying as a hero. Why did you decide to roleplay as a villain?
6. If questioned about their evil behavior, what excuse would your muse give to justify it?
7. Does your muse have the potential to be a loving parent? The question addresses their ability to feel a child’s emotional needs, not the muse’s ability to physically procreate.
8. If your muse could feel the emotional pain of the people they hurt, would this deter their villainous behavior?
9. What punishment does the mun think would be justifiable for the muse?

Lie to them. Lie to all of them. Just fucking do it. It’s so easy, and you’re so good at it, no one will ever know.
I am not evil. You are just irrelevant.
You're so self centred
who else am i supposed to be centred on
orise saying that the last thing she wants to do is hurt you doesn’t mean that she doesn’t want to it just means that you’re her lowest priority
I know Sunday™ was over like an hour ago but here’s a fact about Orise anyway -- during sex, the main (nonphysical) thing that gets her off is her partner wanting her. Like everything else in her life, Orise’s mentality towards sex is so incredibly self-centered that she views her partner not as their own person so much as a part or prop in a scene about herself. She gets off on other people’s desire for her because of how it feeds into her own ego. (Look at how much they want me, look at how beautiful they find me, look at how they look at me, how they need me, how they beg for me to -- )
While Orise doesn’t have Nina’s need to be on top and for physical dominance, she still has a similar need for control during sex (a continuation of her need to be in control of everything and everyone around her). She also has very high standards for who she’ll have sex with. Physical attraction is key, of course, but it’s also the easiest of her standards to meet. She also needs them to either want her, or else to express a very specific kind of disinterest where she feels like she can get them to want her. Most importantly, sex is messy and physically intimate and potentially socially and politically dangerous (or at least inconvenient), so Orise needs to -- not trust, because she’ll never trust anyone other than herself, but as close to trust as she can get with anyone who isn’t her. (For example, she knows Asaau is too infatuated with her to try and use their relationship to damage her, and that Vene literally can’t be bothered.)
am i bitter? yes. but do i try to move on and let go of past anger? well, actually, no
orise would never actually wear fur bc she’d see it as tacky but she always gives off a vibe like she’s wearing it anyway
