Let us just appreciate that this person’s dad didn’t know when they would be home and so he couldn’t plan for them to be able to join the family for dinner, but he knew with no doubts that dear sweet Meatloaf staying in that exact position for hours was an absolute in this scenario. We’re just a really close group of friends. It’s not about anons or 21albums or this community. We’re just a group of people that met through the Internet and fell in platonic love. We all know each other so well and have so many inside jokes, it would be kinda weird to add a bunch of new people to it. We don’t mean to offend anyone by not adding them, that’s why there’s a ton of other Skype groups. None of them are really active, but if you really want to join a Skype group, then you can literally just start being active on one and encourage others to be active as well. In fact, Night Krew members went and started being active on a different group to see if people would engage as well. Now there’s another semi-active group. Another reason we try to keep our group small is because back when we first started Skyping, we added so many people, we weren’t able to call anymore and everything was super overwhelming. Please don’t take this harshly. It’s hard to explain this without people getting the wrong idea. I really wish I could Skype each and every single one of you. Just not all at the same time because, due to past experiences, that gets chaotic. Please allow Night Krew to stay Night Krew. We love you. ♥️

So. Mother’s Day is Sunday. There are a million posts out there about showing your appreciation for your mother and it can make a lot of people with abusive moms feel guilty.

So this is specifically for the people dealing with that guilt: it’s ok to Not buy her a gift, and it’s also ok to go out and buy something super nice for her. Your health comes first, and whichever option helps YOU feel best, then do it.

It’s ok if you cringe when/if she thanks you, if she hugs you and tells you she loves you. That sense of wrongness is hard to deal with, and I’m sorry you have to be one to bear it.

I’m sorry there’s so much mothers day shit out there. I’m sorry it’s all over facebook where she posts with her friends and they all tell her she’s a wonderful mom.

You deserve better. This weekend will be over soon.

i mean, maybe this is my inner “survivor of child abuse” talking, but I am not going to tell abusive parents that they’re bad at bringing up their children without a bullet proof plan with regards to how I could protect my student from the emotional and physical backlash of that meeting.

Important thing to remember about intervening in abuse in general. Any actions taken by others to hold the abuser accountable WILL be taken out on the victim and not the person doing the confronting. Do not confront an abuser about their actions unless you know for absolute certain that you can protect their victim from the fallout.
