Sexuality is a choice

When a woman stands up against the misogyny of a man, other men rush to his defense; they, men, understand that when a woman stands up against one man, she stands up against all men. They see themselves and their own behavior in the actions of the misogynist, because they, too, are misogynists.
LIFE
Itâs OK for girls to be sexy, but NOT sexual.
The unfortunate truth is that i AM made uncomfortable when i see girls wearing very, very revealing outfits, especially in odd places, like a girl i saw in a bikini on campus. It certainly used to be good old fashioned insecurity expressed in misogyny, but itâs still there, and Iâm a very different person.Â
I remember finding it difficult growing up living between the slut-prude dichotomy, trying to be sexy because weâre told thatâs all girls are good for and all that gets boys attention, but risking being called âslutsâ and being fucking uncomfortable, versus channelling the whole ânot like other girlsâ, having âself-respectâ, but being bullied and ignored. You had a choice to make and neither one was right.Â
Liberal feminism has contributed absolutely nothing of substance to the dilemma, yelling over the increasing awareness of the sexism of it all with âWOO GIRL TAKE IT ALL OFF ITâS TOTALLY FINE, ITâS EMPOOOWERRRIIINGGGGGGâ, and given how mainstream and accepted this feminism has become, i do assume nearly every girl and woman i come across is on board with it. The other option we had, to cover up, is equally misogynistic in itâs traditionalist, pearl-clutching ways, but thereâs another hidden option which i think is closer to this one than the former: thinking about why you want what you want, why certain things make you feel âgoodâ or âempoweredâ and who might have made it like that, and recognising that feminine âsexyâ things are uncomfortable, inconvenient and controlling - skirts, heels, shaving everyday, expensive make-up, missing out on normal delicious foods. Liberal feminist has shut this option away from us completely by getting out the party-poppers and glitter for tiny outfits, branding anything else as âslut-shamingâ or âbody shamingâ.
And now, conveniently for men, iâm in this straight jacket and really watching my words when i try to explain how and why particularly young women baring nearly everything still makes me uncomfortable. Because as a radical feminist Iâm looking past all the ideology, all the wishful thinking, and see the root - the reality: girls walking around half naked, pristine, like models, and men, plain and boring, and consuming girls bodies as if theyâre food. Itâs not girls fault, them âcovering upâ wonât change anything, but I feel like iâve been prised into this, almost, mass delusion, that itâs all cool. Itâs a dystopia iâm hit with and it makes me uncomfortable.

Amsterdam is turning rainbow for a visit of the Russian president Putin. The council of the city of Amsterdam has decided to hang out the gay pride flag on all council owned buildings and offices, in protest to Russiaâs new anti-gay law.
