Boom Boom: Afridi becomes first batsman to hit 400 sixes
The 33 year old batsman hit his first six in 1996 against Sri Lanka in Nairobi. He has hit the most sixes to Indian and Sri Lankan bowlers during his career, having delivered 71 sixes to each side.
Throughout his career, Afridi has hit a total of 52 sixes in 27 tests, 314 sixes in 359 one day Internationals and 34 sixes in 60 Twenty20 internationals.
While Afridi became the only batsman to score the highest number of sixes in cricket, he also equaled Australia’s Shane Watson’s record of garnering the highest number of man of the match awards in Twenty20s, after he was crowned the man of the match in Pakistan’s win against the West Indies on Saturday.

English (BBC): A Chinese court has given former Railways Minister Liu Zhijun a suspended death sentence for corruption and abuse of power, state media report.
Liu was accused of accepting bribes totalling more than 64m yuan ($10m; £6m) over 25 years.
Prosecutors said he awarded government rail contracts in return for bribes.
Liu is the most high-profile official to be tried and found guilty of corruption since Xi Jinping became China's leader earlier this year.
Mr Xi has called for a crackdown on corruption, vowing to tackle it from the powerful "tigers" at the top to the "flies" at the bottom of the Communist Party.
China's railways ministry, once a powerful department, was disbanded in March.
It had been criticised for a series of safety scandals, and faced allegations of fraud which were uncovered by government audits.
Speaking to media via telephone from UK, Hussain said that Scotland Yard police had raided his residence some days ago and had taken some material in possession, following which he decided to voluntarily step down as party leader on moral grounds.

ISLAMABAD: In his first post election interview, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan endorsed a recent statement made by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain.
In an exclusive interview to Geo News senior anchor Hamid Mir in his program ‘Capital Talk’, Imran Khan said that he supports Altaf Hussain’s statement in which he said ‘the Titanic of Muslim Ummah was sinking’. “Altaf is correct in saying that if we do not fix ourselves, we are heading towards destruction.”
Khan elaborating on the challenges being faced by Pakistan said that if a feasible solution was not sought, only darkness lay ahead.
Imran added that nations who were in a worse state as compared to Pakistan had overcome their problems and progressed.
Commenting on Tahirul Qadri, Khan said his concerns regarding the Election Commission of Pakistan were correct.

سندھ انسٹیٹیوٹ آف یورولوجی اینڈ ٹرانسپلانٹیشن (ایس آئی یو ٹی) میں ایدھی کے معالج ڈاکٹر ادیب رضوی کا کہنا ہے کہ عبدالستار ایدھی کے دونوں گردے فیل ہو گئے ہیں اور ہم نے ان کے لئے گردے عطیہ کرنے کے لیے لوگوں سے اپیل کی ہے تاہم ایدھی کی صحت کو دیکھتے ہوئے ٹرانسپلانٹ کا عمل مشکل دکھائی دیتا ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اگر ٹرانسپلانٹ ممکن نہ ہو سکا تو متعروف سماجی رہنما کو تمام زندگی ڈائیلاسسز پر گزارنا ہو گی۔

ایک سوال کے جواب میں ڈاکٹرعبدالستار ایدھی نے کہا ہے کہ میرا مشن مکمل ہوچکا ہے، مجھے کسی سے کوئی شکایت نہیں۔ کراچی میں قربانی کی کھالیں اور فطرہ کم ملتا ہے جبکہ ملک کے دیگر حصوں سے بڑی تعداد میں کھالیں اور فطرہ موصول ہوتا ہے۔ پنجاب اور بیرون ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں نے امداد میں اضافہ کردیا ہے۔ سیاچن سے ننگرہاراور لاہور سے کابل تک خدمات فراہم کرتا ہوں۔ ایدھی نے انتہائی نحیف مگر پرعزم انداز میں کہا کہ پاکستان قائم ہے اور قائم رہے گا۔
ایدھی فاؤنڈیشن کے بانی کا کہنا تھا کہ پاکستانی میڈیا نے سماجی کاموں کے حوالے سے میری اور انسانیت کی بھرپور مدد کی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سیکریٹری صحت سندھ کے علاوہ کوئی حکومتی یا سیاسی شخصیت خیریت دریافت کرنے نہیں آئی۔ اب مزید ڈائیلائسز نہیں ہوں گے۔ ڈاکٹروں نے خواراک کی کمی پورا کرنے اور مکمل آرام کا مشورہ دیا ہے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ایدھی فاونڈیشن کے زیر اہتمام ملک بھر میں 1800 ایمبولینسیں، 3 فضائی ایمبولینس اور 400 سے زائد مراکز کام کررہے ہیں۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ایدھی فاؤنڈیشن کو سالانہ کروڑوں روپے امداد موصول ہوتی ہے، جس کا مکمل حساب کتاب رکھا جاتا ہے۔ایدھی فاؤنڈیشن کے مالی معاملات اتنے شفاف ہیں کہ اب تو آڈٹ کرنے والے بھی نہیں آتے ، پہلے آتے تھے۔
حکومت کی جانب سے کسی رابطے سے متعلق سوال کے جواب میں عبدالستار ایدھی کا کہنا تھا کہ سیکریٹری صحت سندھ طبیعت معلوم کرنے آئے تھے۔ تاہم ان کے علاوہ کوئی حکومتی یا سیاسی شخصیت خیریت پوچھنے نہیں آئی۔ البتہ طبیعت پوچھنے کے لئے وزیر اعظم اور گورنر سندھ کا پیغام بلقیس ایدھی کے ذریعے موصول ہوا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ امریکا، برطانیہ اور دنیا بھر میں مقیم پاکستانی ایدھی فاؤنڈیشن کی مالی معاونت کرتے ہیں اور حالیہ دنوں میں اس میں اضافہ ہوا ہے۔ ایک سوال پر ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ایدھی فاؤنڈیشن غیرملکی امداد قبول نہیں کرتی۔ صرف بیرون ملک مقیم پاکستانی امداد دیتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا جن ممالک میں کشمیری زیادہ تعداد میں آباد ہیں، وہاں سے زیادہ امداد موصول ہوتی ہے۔
Multiple blasts, gunfire kill 23 in Quetta; hospital under siege

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told reporters at a press conference that several parts of the Bolan Medical Complex, taken under siege by terrorists, have now been cleared by security forces.
An operation was being carried out by security personnel to free the Bolan Medical Complex from heavily armed militants who had taken over parts of the hospital and were reported to have taken several people hostage.
A large number of patients and doctors were trapped inside the complex when heavily armed militants took the hospital under siege.
According to security forces, parts of the hospital have been cleared while four gunmen are still believed to be inside the complex.
Nisar confirmed that 35 hostages had now been freed by security forces.
“According to our official reports, four terrorists have been killed in the operation while one suspect has been arrested from outside the hospital,” said the interior minister.
The interior minister said further details of the ongoing operation to clear the hospital would be announced later.
Condemning the earlier attack on Ziarat Residency, he said that orders have been issued to re-build the historic monument of the country. Chaudhry Nisar also revealed that outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility of the rocket attacks in Ziarat.
Nisar said the total death toll from the attacks in Quetta has now risen to 22, including four terrorists, four Frontier Corps personnel, Deputy Commissioner Quetta Abdul Mansoor Khan and 14 female students of the Sardar Bahadar Khan Women’s University.
The female students were killed earlier when an improvised explosive device ripped through a bus inside the university campus.
“The bomb exploded just when female teachers and students gathered inside the bus around 3 pm to proceed for Quetta city from the university,” CCPO Mir Zubair Mehmood said.
The CCPO said that most of the victims were female teachers and students. He said the bus caught fire after the powerful blast.
The injured were shifted to the Bolan Medical Complex, where half an hour later sounds of explosions and gunfire spread panic and chaos among the patients and doctors.
Several people were trapped inside the complex for hours as security personnel engaged in a grueling operation against the militants.
Security forces have now cleared most of the complex and evacuated the civilians, although CCPO Mir Zubair Mehmood said it might take another three hours to confirm that the hospital was clear of all terrorists.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has officially announced to observe a "day of mourning" on Sunday.
Earlier Saturday, militants attacked the Quaid-e-Azam residency in Ziarat with hand grenades, destroying the historical monument where the founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah spent his last days.
A policeman was killed in the attack on the Jinnah’s monumental residency.
Officials had confirmed that most of the old memorials inside the monument were destroyed, with historic photographs of the founder burnt to the ground in the resulting fire.
It was unclear if the attack on the Quaid’s residency in Ziarat was related to the later attacks in Quetta.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervez Rashid assured full support to the Balochistan Government in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Balochistan.
Speaking to media representatives in Islamabad, Rashid strongly condemned the attacks. He said that those involved in these terrorist acts were the enemies of Pakistan and Balochistan.
He said that the entire nation was with the people of Balochistan at this critical juncture.
No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for any of the attacks.

Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan had publicly revealed the ‘suicide note’ in which Jiah has blamed Suraj Pancholi and their troublesome relationship for all the depression that led to her suicide. To all concerned,
Some sections of the media and some film industry people are speculating that my daughter Jiah committed suicide because of depression related to her career. However the truth is that it happened only because of the trauma and the abuse she suffered at the hands of Suraj Pancholi and his father Aditya Pancholi.
This I know from what Jiah shared with her sisters and me and also from this letter written by Jiah herself that I am attaching here with which was found three days later by my younger daughter in a wallet box belonging to Jiah when she was searching for some poems written by Jiah to be read out at her prayer meeting.
I have decided to make this letter public so that everyone may know the truth behind my daughter’s tragedy.
