Smiling and rolling his eyes at his brother, Balthazar opened the door and walked in, heading for the hall where the food was going to be served.
Gabriel dropped onto one of the open seats, filling up his plate with food. “I can’t wait for summer, it’s going to be a blast.” He laughed, “Maybe it’ll be so grand I won’t even want to come back.”
The other Novak sat next to his brother and started piling up food as well. “With what we have planned? I wouldn’t exactly be surprised is you decide to stay away.” Balthazar chuckled and started eating the corn he had picked up.
“No kidding.” He laughed, “I can’t wait to graduate and get out of this place, One more year, Balth, one more year and I am getting out of here and no one will see me again.” He cackled.
“Not even me? I’m hurt, Gabby.” He lifted a hand to his heart in mock pain and pouted. “Your favorite brother, and you’re just going to stuff off and leave me to deal with all the others.”
“You could always do what I do and not deal with them at all.” He pointed out, stuffing a piece of bread in his mouth, “But I guess I wouldn’t mind seeing you again, just you though. I’m done with the rest of this family.”

“Well apparently it’s a big deal for students of different houses are under some unspoken rule but, you know me” he smirked and nudged his brother playfully.
“Ever the rebel, sometimes you go and make me look good.” He teased, nudging Balthazar back. “Apparently we shouldn’t be fraternizing with the enemy.”
Rolling his eyes, Balthazar nudged him back. “You’re far from being my enemy, brother. I’m keeping that title for a special someone named Crowley.” An involuntary shiver ran up his spine at the name.
“Crowley? That name sounds annoying familiar.” Gabriel made a face, “Need any help dealing with him?”
“It’s nothing I can’t handle, brother.” He gave Gabriel a reassuring smile and bumped him with his shoulder. “Now lets hurry up, I’m getting hungry.”
“As you should be, you’re a stick!” He laughed, bumping him back before he picked up the pace in his stride. “But promise you’ll tell me if you need any help, I don’t need you getting the shit beat out of you by one of his goons.”
“I’m not a stick, I’m just lean muscle and choose to live a healthier lifestyle.” he huffed and rolled his eyes at Gabriel. “I promise, but I know what he’s like. All talk and uses his manipulation of others to get his dirty work done for him.” A rather unattractive snort later and they were nearing the castle once again.
“I wasn’t aware that muscle looked like skin wrapped around bone.” He laughed, before he shook his head. “Sounds like not my kind of guy, what’s the fun of doing anything if you don’t even do it yourself?”
“Oh really, you’ll sit with me?” He mocked with a growing grin, “What an honor!” He couldn’t stop himself from cackling as they headed back into the castle.

Brotherly Bonding // Balthazar & Gabriel
He looked warily at the probably half-melted chocolate gabriel had started eating. He definitely did not want to know how long he had been carrying that thing.
“Well, maybe you can get us through some… more important rooms?” Balthazar asked, raising an eyebrow. If they could get somewhere the public couldn’t go… they could get into all sorts of mischief.
He couldn’t help but laugh at that, “Of course I can. And now that I’m seventeen, I can use my magic wherever I want, long as the muggles don’t notice.” He pointed out, “This summer is going to be the best vacation ever.”
“Can’t argue with that, now can we?” His lips twitched into a wide grin. He really couldn’t wait for summer to arrive. “Do you wanna go get some food? I’m starving.” It was about lunch time so it would be good to eat something and spend more time with his brother.
“You mean besides this?” He waved his chocolate bar before he stood up, “I could go for some food right now.”
“Yes, besides that, Gabe. It isn’t exactly considered healthy.” He rolled his eyes and stood up, dusting off his clothes. “I’ll even sit beside you so we can talk some more.” He waved off any concerns and started walking up the hill.

Brotherly Bonding // Balthazar & Gabriel
The breeze shifted the shadows overhead as Balthazar turned another page. He could hear a few birds sitting in the tree and quickly recognized the sound of the sparrows.
Returning to the book leaning against his knees, he focused on the different methods for reading tea leaves. It wasn’t an assignment that caused the book to seal his focus, more his love for knowledge that fueled him to absorb the words like a sponge.
His mind was too dead set on learning about state of mind and perception that he didn’t recognize the sound of approaching footsteps. To be honest, he didn’t expect anyone to be able to find him in his own corner of the campus.
Gabriel had to take a study break, his head ached from page after page of heavy books and foreign languages that he had taken so long to understand. The weather was nice now that spring had arrived and a walk seemed like a good way to clear his head for a while.
On said trek, he noticed a familiar face in the distance, nose stuck in a book. “Balth!” The ravenclaw rose a hand as he came in close, sticking his hands into the pockets of his trousers, “Only you would be reading out here.” He chuckled, “What’s got you so enticed?”Â
Gabriel didn’t talk to a lot of other students at the school. Friendship was never a priority of his, as he never stuck around one place long enough to have an attachment that wasn’t a cheap flirt or something. School would seem to be the best place to make them, with the seven years they were all stuck together, but it just wasn’t his niche.Â
Balzathar though, he was family. And not the crappy one that he had run away from, one that he’d actually run to a few times since he had left home. Our of all the Novak’s, Balthazar was the only one he actively went to hang out with.
He lifted his head to see Gabriel approaching. “Gabe!” He called back, smiling at the small reprieve of his book. Just because he loved knowledge didn’t mean he loved reading.
“Tea leaves, fortune telling, all that wonderful stuff others forego actually learning about.” He answered, bookmarking his place and closing the book so Gabriel could read the title.
It had been a while since he had seen the older brother so to finally e able to catch up again made him smile again. They always had fun together which sometimes lead to other people getting embarrassed from a new spell or prank made between the two.
“Seeing into the future, are you going to double as a muggle palm reader now?” He couldn’t help put tease the other, leaning forward to read over the title of the book. He shifted to sit down next to the huffelpuff in the grass.
“So! With summer in a couple months I was trying to decide what direction I’ll be heading off of the train.” He hummed, “I was thinking of heading over to the states or something, get some long distance traveling in.”
“Please, I’m thinking more magician than palm reader.” He teased back, gently hitting Gabe in the arm with the book.
“You could join me. I was thinking of doing the same thing.” He offered, putting the book into the bag next to him. “We might even go past a few candy factories.”
“Oh yah, I could see you with the silly top hat and sparkly outfit.” He snickered, giving him a poke in the arm, “And what, you want me to be your lovely assistant, I’m guessing something short and glamourus?”
“Oh candy factories? You read my mind Balthy buddy.” He grinned, “I was thinking of going to the Hershey’s themepark, games, rides, and tons and tons of candy for me to devour.”
“I was thinking more long, classy and sparkly but with a good show of skin.” He poked out his tongue to his brother and nudged his shoulder with his own.
He rolled his eyes. “Of course I know about my brothers sugar addiction. Who doesn’t?” An eyebrow lifted and he smiled. He loved his brother no matter what crazy antics he possessed.
“You know this body was made for showing.” He returned, nudging Balthazar back. Of all his family, Balthazar was the only one he could play and talk with, it was something that worked along so well.
“No one at this point.” He laughed, “I’ve been in nearly every candy company there is at least once, and everyone here always comes to me for sweets since they know I always have them on me.” The very thought of them had Gabriel pulling out a chocolate from his pocket and unwrapping it.
Of Miscommunications //Gabe & Dean//
Dean shoulders dropped as the Owls flew away. It had been two weeks since he’d gotten the last letter, and it might seem weird that he was a little upset at not receiving something that had sent him to the infirmary, but he had come to look forward to them. The spells were imaginative and never the same. One time he had green hair for a week, and on one memorable occasion he grew gills and had had to stay in the Black Lake until the spell wore off.
He ate his breakfast silently and plotted. Whoever sent the letters might not want to continue their little game anymore, but Dean wanted to know why. There was only one way he could find out.
With his last bite, he got up and hurried towards his room. Students ambled passed him, occasionally nodding in his direction. Once at his dorm, he slipped inside. The last letter was where he’d thrown it inside the trunk. He got it out before performing a locator spell. A light appeared before him and then darted away. Dean followed.
He found himself walking down an unfamiliar and dark hallway. The only light emitting from a cracked door at the end. The ball of light paused outside it before flying in.
It had started a while ago. Sending prank letters off to students during mail time. Usually not to dangerous, but accidents had happened on occasions. As he didn’t have his own owl, it wasn’t a problem of being identified by that, so he could enjoy it from the sidelines and have a good laugh.
What was more amusing was a student that seemed to be having fun with his prank. One Dean Winchester. The trickster knew the boy’s younger brother but not much of the elder Winchester. So he continued to send the pranks whenever one came to him and found amusement in it.
But things had been getting bad. The attacks in the school, his brother, Gabriel threw all of his work into something serious. If he couldn’t run, then he might have to fight, and that meant that he had to learn how to use more powerful magic than he knew.
He was in one of the empty classrooms doing just that. Pouring over his study books, the pages flipping at the rushed waves of his fingers until he noticed the ball of light fly into the room. He jumped to his feet, hand ready to go for his wand, “Whose there?”
Dean nudged the door open and peered inside. His raised an eyebrow as he took in the tension running through the guy’s body. Cocking his head, he gave the guy a once over. Bags under brown eyes, messy brown hair, and rumbled clothing. Looked like someone was having a bad week.
Dean raised his hands in a soothing gesture and walked into the room. “Relax, I just wanna talk.” He walked over to a chair and sat down. He nodded towards the chair next to him. “Come one, dude. I’m not gonna bite.”
Gabriel had been busy with working on higher quality spells, more powerful ones that he could use for better more masterful pranks. The stronger he was the better, the Nocak’s were a powerful much of purebloods after all and he showed it in his skills.
Looking at Dean Winchester, he was wary as he hadn’t wanted to get caught out of his room. Detention was a major downer. “You tracked me?” He asked, lowering his wand before he followed and dropped into a chair to look at him. “What’s triggered this sudden interest, Winchester?”
Dean folded his hands in his lap and leaned forward. “Your pranks.” His eyes roamed over Gabriel’s form before he sighed and leaned back. “About two months ago, I got an owl. Against my better judgment, I opened it.” A grin spread across Dean’s face and chuckled softly. “My skin was green for three days.”
He sobered. “I have a proposition. This school gets pretty dull. What do you say we-,” Dean mused for a moment. His eyes lit up and he smirked. “-fuck some shit up? I think we can be just as good, if not better, than those Weasley twins.”
“Oh.” He responded, leaning back in his seat, a grin forming across his face. “Well I’m more of the loner type with my pranks, but..” He gazed at Dean quietly, mulling over the idea. He really didn’t do friends, they didn’t last long after all. But this Dean guy seemed alright, and he obviously knew how to have a good time. “I guess I wouldn’t mind seeing what you can do.”
