  //first off, I’d like to apologize for my extended absence to everyone waiting on replies. it’s been a busy and stressful summer and I am not dealing well with my seasonal affective disorder or my anxiety.

that being said, I don’t think tumblr RP is for me any more--at least, not at this time. so I’ll be archiving my ‘active’ RP blogs, and focusing my (rather depleted) creative energy on fic writing and forum RP.

I’ll miss my writing partners, of course--y’all were great, and my departure from the tumblr RPC has nothing to do with any one of you, I just can’t seem to get the same level of enjoyment from RP as I used to, and it’s got me feeling like I ought to stop.

I’m not here to hate on a surprisingly popular headcanon so much as to be baffled by it.

Yes, there is something bizarrely attractive about someone who enjoys killing people a little too much, dresses well, and has problems understanding personal space and not whispering in the ear of people he’s about to kill. (which is really only attractive in fiction) And I’m not doubting that a group of student assassins would take their earnings and visit a seamstress, but the suggestion that they would take Teatime with them more than once, which I’ve encountered in at least two fics, strikes me as a little difficult to picture.

I don’t mean to say that that everyone has to headcanon him on the ace spectrum just because I do, just that I am surprised at how often I see him painted as experienced in this area. Not just not-a-virgin, but um, practised.

I for one am in the “Teatime died a virgin and the virginity was not the part of this scenario he was annoyed about” camp.

In a way, Clara’s quite fascinated by Missy, but disgusted at the same time. That’s partly to do with how Michelle Gomez plays her, she’s so magnetic that you can’t help but like her, even though you’re supposed to hate her.

Is it just me, or does Jenna seem to have a great time on set with almost every actor she plays with, regardless of their relationship on-screen?

  The double blow of hearing her old name from his lips followed by his confession took the air from her lungs entirely. Missy fell still and silent for a long moment, unsure of how to proceed.

  There was a time when such an admission would have sent her into peals of laughter followed by some kind of gloating monologue, or when she would have simply forced him to regenerate in order to solve the problem and not felt a trace of guilt at either the idea or the deed itself. But that wasn’t her anymore. She wasn’t good, not exactly and not yet, but she was learning to care. She wanted to help.

  “You can.” She leaned in, resting her head against his shoulder and letting her breath ghost over his neck as her mind pressed, gently, at his--not entering, but requesting permission. “You can see, at least in here, if... If you let me be your eyes.”

LOTS of requests for this, finally fulfilled. This is me singing the bare-bones, original audio track Murray Gold used for MISSY’S THEME in series 9 of Doctor Who. He wrote a lovely little lullaby, which I recorded a capella, and then he reversed it for the final track. (The pauses indicate where I was singing along with a metronome.) There are a lot of rather grand conspiracy theories about what the reversed lyrics actually were, but these are the real deal!

“It’ll take more than they’ve got to protect ya, baby!” Frobisher pointed threateningly at her, playing the “everyone notices a talking penguin“ card as hard as he was able. “If ya don’t get yer head on straight, I’m gonna straighten it for ya, get me?!”

Frobisher tried to think of what sort of things were screamed in a domestic right before someone like him was called for, but sadly most of the domestic disturbances he’d heard recently were courtesy of his roommates.

“Prancin’ ‘round the place in that ridiculous getup, whinin’ all the time, stickin’ that pretty nose of yers where it don’t belong an’ then actin’ surprised when yer up to yer ass in frisky brunos!” he continued, making himself slightly larger as he leaned threateningly at the group. “Ya need a good seein’ to, is what ya need!”

  It was clear, Missy thought as she inched ever closer to the increasingly confused guard, that Frobisher was using the situation as an opportunity to air certain grievances, and once they were safely back in her TARDIS there would be a... discussion about all that. Probably over a spike pit. Or a lava pit. Or an acid pit. Some kind of pit, anyway.

  Missy stopped in her tracks, however, as one of Frobisher’s more colourful phrases actually sunk in. She brightened. “You think my nose is pretty? Oh, I’ll have to mark this day on my calendar--you actually said something nice.”

  She turned to the nearest guard, who had bought the act and made the awful choice to try and stand in front of her, and shrugged. “And I do believe that’s my usual cue to do something both terrible and brilliant, so... Honey, you might want to duck.”

  Without any more preamble, she grabbed the guard to use as a meat shield while simultaneously taking control of their blaster and firing at their colleagues until all of them had fallen.

  Releasing the now-very-dead guard, Missy turned back to Frobisher, smirking widely. “You know, for all your many faults, you do make a decent sidekick. Sometimes.”
