snape could’ve been an awesome teacher if he wasn’t a disgusting waste of a human being. he knew from age 16 that the instuctions that the textbooks were giving weren’t as good as they could be. he improved the potions and recorded his methods at age 16. if he weren’t such a shitbag, he could’ve either written the damn textbooks himself, or taught his students his alternate methods. he could’ve revolutionized how potions were being brewed, teaching whole generations a superior method of potion brewing. instead, he spent his time bullying children.

-number 3 is the medal I got as a seven-year-old for pulling the sword out of the stone at Disneyland (I have a picture of me doing so courtesy of my mother, and I also have a picture of twenty-year-old me in the exact same spot and the exact same pose with the sword because I am a nerd)

-number 2 is my Broadway Playbill collection (especially the Wicked one signed by Dee Roscioli, who was the sweetest and most patient when dealing with a starstruck thirteen-year-old tripping over her words, and also a fabulous Elphaba)

-and number 1 is my collection of Discworld books (they’re all precious, but especially The Shepherd’s Crown, because the Tiffany Aching books were my first foray into Discworld and anyway there’s always something special about the final installment in a series, especially when it’s the author’s last work)

That was a very pretty shade of red, indeed. It matched perfectly with her lips, and it popped thanks to her pale skin and her beautiful dark hair.

Oh yes, Missy was already convinced that she was just in the right place. Who needed Pinky Pippa anyway.

She executed a tiny bow.

“The very one, Melissa Burningstar. But please, just call me Missy.” She said softly, delighted by the other’s rigid attitude. However, as spontaneously as she smiled, she suddenly pouted. “Oh no, I hate waiting. Would you mind to give me a tour? I’m quite impressed with your lab, I expected something… smaller.”

By now, it was clear to Hecate that this woman was actively trying to rile her up. She shouldn’t rise to the obvious baiting comment about her lab, she really, really should know better--and she did know better.

...And yet.

Perhaps it was the pout the new Chanting teacher was currently sporting. It certainly did a good job of drawing Hecate’s attention squarely to the other woman’s lips, which went an embarrassingly long way to weakening her resolve.

Besides, the more rational part of her brain (which was miraculously still working) told her, giving Miss Burningstar a tour was a better idea than allowing a relative stranger to wander her lab without any form of oversight--so really, this was the most rational choice.

“I suppose... I could give you a brief tour, Miss... Miss Burningstar. We do both have classes to teach tomorrow, after all, it wouldn’t do to stay up too late.”
