Woodward’s Vancouver

The Woodward's Building was a historic building in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The original portion of the building was constructed in 1903 for the Woodward's Department Store when that area of Cordova Street was the heart of Vancouver's retail shopping district.

Redevelopment was seen by many as a key to revitalizing the Downtown Eastside, but the demolition of the structure in 2006 and redevelopment of the site has been met with much local resistance from the existing residents of the neighbourhood. 

The Woodward's redevelopment is now complete with many residents and businesses now in the buildings.

The third Saturday of every month the Railway Club in Vancouver is putting on local and out of town hip hop acts. Hosted by the one and only Attikus this night offers unreal Vancouver talent in a spirited intimate setting. 

The night we were down there it was Attikus’ birthday jam supported by these talented cats.

‘Before the Phoenix’

I couple months ago a few of my good friends acquired a 3000 sq ft space in Gastown to start an art collective. They have been working feverishly on renovations ever since and are now ready to start making art again. 

I was lucky enough to take some shots days after they moved in.
