The only reason Jinx hadn't already put a bullet in her spine or painted the wall with a knife, was because it was Luna. That hesitation? That was the only warning she got.
Her hand was already curled around her holster before she even finished talking.
The second those goggles were held out, they were gone. Snatched clean from Luna's hands in a shimmer-blur. Pink eyes snapped up, narrow and bright, something sharp sparking behind them.
"Don't." A beat. A twitch of her lip. "Ever touch my stuff again." Her voice dropped, rougher now. She didn’t care about the bench. The tools. The mess. But those?
Her fingers slowed as she turned, carefully, almost too carefully, hanging the goggles back where they belonged. Like they might break if she didn't.
A glance over her shoulder.
A grin that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
"I mean it. Next time I won't double check who you are".
