Teacher Owl - Acrylic painting on the wall of the teachers' preparation room at Vestergårdsskolen public school. Aim: To humorously motivate the teachers as they prepare for classes. The owl is working hard to gain its reward - the apple, which it will receive from its students - being helped by the (computer) mouse. And you may find other funny details in the painting. Method: Employing black paint, two brush sizes and straight line hatching. By Trine Fredsoe, November 2014.

Improving the public school space - Ideas of new ways to utilize the hallways of the public school I am currently working for. The goal is to make the existing space brighter and providing spots for the pupils to occupy and use as their needs or fantasies demand.
"Lad de små børn komme til mig" is a book of Bible teachings for children originally written by Marian Schooland, but recently translated into Danish by Ruth Mortensen, who is a dear friend of mine and sister in Christ. I was asked to do the 83 illustrations and the cover of the book, a work which I was more than privileged to do. I have already been blessed by working on and reading this book, and it is mine and the translator’s sincere hope that many children and adults alike will be blessed by this book.
You can get a copy of this book by contacting the publisher, Forlaget Tilbage til Bibelen or Kristuskirken (www.Kristuskirken.com), or visit the bookstore at Nørregade 6, 8850 Bjerringbro, Denmark - open on Saturdays 11.00-12.00.
Now available at this online webshop: Forlaget Tilbage til Bibelen for just 195 kr. - a very reasonable price for an illustrated hardback with 317 pages!

Yes, this is grass - and this is what the rain does to it
Discovering what the rain does
Continued discoveries of what the rain does
Oftentimes God enhances the beauty of His creation by adding a few drops of rain. In the same way - by letting continual trials fall on believers - He improves our character and increases our godliness one drop of tribulation at a time.
Discovering what the rain does yet again
Still discovering what the rain does

The Scriptures
The prophesies and historical accounts of the Bible were written on scrolls like this. The Bible consists of 66 books, written by several different writers - one Author, God. The earliest writings were written by Moses between 1445-1405 B.C. and the last book, Revelation, was written down by the apostle John, the last living eye-witness of the resurrection, in A.D. 94-96, when he was held captive on the island of Patmos. See a timeline of when the different books were written here at Grace to You's website.
Many have given their lives to ensure that we now have the Word of God. I encourage you to read the Scriptures daily and meditation on them. They are the words of life, and testify of the Truth. "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free." (John 8.32)
God's covenant promises to His people through time
These illustrations are all from the book “Lad de små børn komme til mig.”
1) The ark of Noah as it could have looked like. The historical account of the event of the Flood and God’s instructions to Noah on how to build the ark can be read here Genesis 6. For more information you can visit Answers in Genesis.
2) The burning bush. Moses had to take off his sandals. (Exodus 3). God chose Moses to deliver His people from slavery in Egypt - Later Christ, the Great Deliverer, brought His people out of spiritual slavery to sin.
3) The tablets of stone at Mount Sinai with God’s moral Law, the Ten Commandments, written on them by God Himself. (Exodus 20). God promised life to all who kept these commandments: "Do this, and you shall live."
4) The Ark of the Covenant. (Exodus 25:10-20)
5) The covenant through the blood of Christ, which He shed for His people on the cross. By eating the bread and drinking the wine, we as disciple of Jesus Christ remember that His body was broken and His blood was shed for us on the Croos of Calvary. (1. Corinthians 11.23-34)
Analogy of Nature
From "Lad de små børn komme til mig"
The Trinity is a fact difficult to comprehend, but it is nevertheless a fact that can be explained and understood in your heart. Just take this flower: Its crown is a unity, but it consists of three distinct leafs! The Father and the Son together with the Holy Spirit is God. (See for example Matthew 3.13-17, John 16.1-15 and John 17)
When someone has become a Christian, he has been united with Christ, and God will cause him to "bear fruit," that means to faith and good works. "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." John 15.4-5
“A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell... among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty... As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit…” From Matthew 13
Sometimes life has its thorns and things that hurt us. But the Lord Himself said to those who are His disciples: "In the world you will have tribulations. But take heart; I have overcome the world." (John 16.33) ¨
From Pharao's dream of the seven good and seven bad ears of wheat, which only Joseph could interpret, because God had given him the answer. (Genesis 41)
The Bible says that Jesus Christ will separate the wheat from the chaffs: He will "gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire." (Matthew 3.12)
Analogy of animals
From "Lad de små børn komme til mig"
God created all things and all kinds of animals - and He has a purpose for each one.
The Bible says that "they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40.31
The devil, the old snake, tempted Adam and Eve to sin, which brought condemnation and death to the whole of mankind. (Genesis 3)
When Jesus Christ was baptized the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the form of a dove. (Matthew 3.16)
All true believers rest securely in the hand of their heavenly Father who protects them and provides for them. (Isaiah 41.10)
All God's children are new creatures in Christ. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2. Corinthians 5.17
"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." John 3.5
It is sweet to depend on God, knowing He even feeds the sparrows! "Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" Matthew 6.26
Some of the disciples were fishermen, but the Lord said to them: "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4.19. The disciples ended up winning more souls for Christ than they ever caught fish.
