Into the lions den

She smiles.
Seunghyun doesn’t spend much time home anymore. Especially not how he used to. Seunghyun was a very simple man. He enjoyed wine, liked tasting new foods, played and composed piano pieces. Things that would make him ordinary. But, what he is capable of, makes him the opposite of just that. He has no time for mundane endeavors anymore when there’s much to be done. When Beelzebub has much to be commanded. Despite how much he has on his mind that makes him far from normal, to others he may appear unbothered, calm, and even collected, when in reality his mind was a playground for the king of the underworld. Always calculating Seunghyun’s next move before the demon sorcerer could think about it.
One of those moves was with a man, who had come to him with offerings and a deal to be made. A consul. A wealthy, powerful man hungry for only more wealth and more power. Those types were much too easy. Seunghyun’s only mission is to reveal their true heart’s nature which would land them in a place that breathes fire and despair alongside his master, but when it comes to people who would do anything for the sake of themselves anyways, Seunghyun doesn’t have to do much – their tainted enough on their own.
The man simply wanted another powerful figure to disappear and he thought of no one better to do the job than Seunghyun. Only problem is, when deals are made, the price is often equivalent to the reward, and people who lack conscious and selfless-ness often disregard this. Seunghyun gives everyone who dares face him with requests a fair chance to understand what they get themselves into. Maybe because Seunghyun knows his own tricks, he doesn’t understand how people don’t understand how in the end, they never win. It’s as if they barter with a con artist knowingly, but as previously stated – some people have no self preservation, no respect for anyone – just desperation, which makes his job easy.
Yes, Seunghyun granted the request, but the requester had gone missing too. Seunghyun may have left out a word or two when going over the details. It wasn’t Seunghyun’s job to be fair – besides, the man downstairs didn’t like things to be done in all fairness anyways. Even when Seunghyun gets it wrong and damns even the good people to hell for all of eternity, his quota is met and he sleeps like a baby at night. His lifestyle is no sweat off his own back – he just lives it, and does so lavishly.
Seunghyun had been fully convinced that he would never hear of that man again. Sometimes people who make deals with him tend to return when their face is deformed, or they’ve lost a limb, or their mind, or their wife dies, or their husband tries to kill them. But, because of the nature of this deal, there was no way the man would come back, and Seunghyun’s sure no one who would ever be concerned of him would ever face him, but sometimes, Seunghyun is wrong. He sipped amber liquid lazily as he watched the action of the club from above, no one piquing his interest in particular – it’s a night of particular boredom, really. One of which he almost has the urge to promise some mere mortal that he could do whatever they desire for a small price – that’s how bored he was until a woman approached where he sat.
She was gorgeous. Dark hair, long legs, slim body. Seunghyun didn’t make her aware of his lingering eyes until she was gazing upon him again with large orbs colored with honey – he wondered what ever could bring her here – he figured the usual, she seemed shallow enough for such things, and he was fully prepared to send her on her way; however, another nagging feeling told him she was here for something entirely different. Something that may intrigue him, “aperire,” Seunghyun rumbled in latin to the bouncer, commanding he open the rope and let her through. Whatever she has to say, Seunghyun at least would receive the message from a pretty face, and if his time was wasted, he had at least that for comfort.
When the woman approached him, he stood to his feet, towering over her by at least five inches, something he was used to that gave him a small sense of power. He bowed to her politely, something that he doesn’t do often, but, people (especially women) tend to react, and trust a man with manners, he ushered her to the seat beside him, snapping a finger to get a worker of his to fetch her a drink, “you seem to have come with a very specific purpose,” Seunghyun began with a small raise of a thick brow, “It’s safe to assume you know my name, no? But I’m afraid I don’t know yours. No woman as beautiful as you should go unknown. Tell me, what is your name?” Seunghyun asked with a grin, gripping a glass of something sweet but expensive – too exquisite for even the worst of drinkers to turn down, and handing it to the woman before, “and to what do I have to offer your interests?”
