YEAH in the dark world I imagine there'd be ways for her to rationalise it or spamton would lie to keep the ruse that everything's going dandy along but in the light world she would begin to catch on but not know if it's her mind playing tricks on her. probably develop insomnia too since falling asleep can risk the trance.

You mentioned Lancer before, but wasn't he in Kris's pocket when Kris got frozen over? In the snowgrave route, he is said to be sleeping, so wouldn't he also be frozen? Or did he manage to get out somehow? How did he reunite with Sucie and ralsei? I am so concerned for the child T^T

BUT I'm sure there's an easy way to drop the kid off somewhere before that happens, since rouxls and starwalker go off on their own. susie taking lancer out to join her and ralsei at the fair part would make sense. trust me I wouldn't freeze the lil baby boy

Heyya! Thanks for answering my question! In an addendum to my previous question, what is Redroot Noelle was dropped into another playthrough... but she doean't take that Noelle's place. She (and R!Spamton) are outliers, invaders in another expirment.

that would be a nightmare for both noelles! i certainly wouldn't want to meet an alternate universe version of myself, especially one with a life so messed up. it's hard to say what WOULD happen, if the voice would take control of the situation or not, if the prophecy would change, etc. it would certainly get worldwide attention if another version of her popped out of nowhere, and i think an entire scientific fiasco would spiral from there.

as for R! spamton and regular spamton, i think they'd try to kill eachother. this town aint big enough for two big shots.

AWW thank you so much !! i'm really glad to hear that!! i wouldn't really change much for a light world ralsei outside of his outfit (definitely some kind of dorky suspenders) but the colour palettes change in the light world anyways (become more de-saturated usually) so i think he'd have more neutral colours.

and that would be either a blessing or a curse depending on what kind of playthrough. if she's brought back into the normal route, she would be able to gradually recover and believe it was all just a horrible nightmare. yet, if she's brought into the regular snowgrave route, she would start doubting reality and what is happening around her even more. plus, she'd have more of an understanding on what's happening to kris.

been thinkin' about redroot. I imagine there'd be at least a few 'scripted' Trance segments, with more being actively started by the SOUL with outside of the Regret route, right?

would an optimal Regret Route handling of them be just outright handing control back into noelle as fast as possible, or do you think there'd be circumstances where it'd be BETTER for the soul to speak up and go 'yeah hi. i fucked everything, that's My Fault and not noelle's. please don't hate her forever.'

GREAT QUESTION! it is a difficult thing. in most cases, relinquishing control back to noelle is the right thing to do. however, considering how this au starts, having the soul be like "yeah that was me" would be better to salvage her personal life and relationships.

in other cases where she's cornered, terrified and freezing up, the soul moving her out of harm's way would obviously be the right thing to do. most trance scenarios would occur when noelle is either at her physical or emotional limit which does include when she's absolutely exhausted.

while that idea is Terrifying - i do want to give susie and ralsei some solace. perhaps in the very final chapter? but i would have nothing to base that off.

first of all - im so sorry ive been gone for AGES i was taking a mental health break and i will be gone another week cus im going on a trip with no internet

BUT i leave you with a development ... i dont really craft my stories linearly so for this au's sake this is quite far ahead OOPS

this would be a short boss after the roaring knight's appearance. just against noelle and spamton. at this point he would recognise spamton and the whole chapter does kind of dig into their relationship.

but this boss would have very wonky, distorted attacks that would range from pathetically weak to sporadically sharp. it's tenna's final bow as they prepare to leave/seal the fountain, begging them to stay.

this tenna has lost kris, all his friends, his employees, about to lose toriel too and be thrown away. if they leave now, he'll be left to die in the snow. best to put him out of his misery.

Dumb question

In the redroot au what’s up with the darkners

as so far it’s mainly talked about the lightners (I mean I know why) but

There’s most of cyberworld frozen, & the there’s spamton

and tv world is kinda skipped. I think I remember that right? (I still think it could still be made later as “wouldn’t they be more familiar with Kris” but not my AU so- )

but what about the card kingdom darkners & the dark sanctuaries darkners (& Gerson)

the AUs interesting but I’m curious

not a dumb question at all!! the reason I haven't touched as much on the darkners is because not as much would change. the card kingdom darkners would be untouched since the route doesnt start until ch2, but noelle would never meet them as she wouldn't enter castle town. it's a remaining safe space for susie and ralsei.

as for cyber world, yes most of them would remain frozen, save for exceptions like queen or swatch. and I've still yet to make the darkners for the hospital world.

originally I DID plan on skipping tv world, but I realised I could just shuffle things around - so tenna will be coming up later. I still think it's very important for susie to befriend gerson. even if her and ralsei are no longer the main focus, they are the good guys of the story. gerson would give susie a reason to keep fighting and reignite her determination to save kris and berdly.

ralsei has to tackle the feeling of obsoletion and the chaos of this new direction. he's only known the path of the prophecy so now the path ahead seems unknown and frightening.

LOL I think noelle has bigger fish to fry on this one considering there is no kris to fight for. it'd be surprising if the soul cared about sans hanging with their mom after letting kris get turned into an ice cube

GRAAAAAAAAAAAHH I LOVE WAR OF THE WORLDS (rips my shirt open). i had a huge fixation on it a while ago that is coming back strong. specifically the jeff wayne's musical adaptation which i'm constantly obsessed with.

i hope you'll be happy to know that said snowgrave au's name was inspired by the red weed FROM war of the worlds. originally i was going to call it uprooted or mistletoe but the red weed represents such a swift and parasitic overtaking of all that was there before.

the depiction of the HMS thunder child in the musical adaptation is obviously my favourite part (though i will always have a huge fondness for the songs Spirit of Man and Brave New World). the small but very important victory with the cheering of the people followed by the sinking of humanity's final defender - augh it makes my heart ache. please ask me about war of the worlds anytime.
