when trixie was given the opportunity to be in a chip skylark video, she was over the moon. she had about as big of a crush on chip as the next girl and she was completely starstruck when she first met him, though she has not told him that. it wasn’t until the rumors of them dating started that she started to see him in a different light. not that she wouldn’t date him, she still totally would, but she also likes being his friend. someone who she can just talk to without feeling judged.

he is the only person she will cancel other plans for. chip is her rock in a lot of senses and the rest of her friends are hardly friends. so it’s super easy for trixie to put others aside for him.

she 100% runs a stan twitter and instagram for him. she posts his music on her snap stories and insta stories all the time and uses the influence she has to make sure EVERYONE loves chip’s music as much as she does. she also uses that stan twitter to drag skip sparkypants all the time.

they have code names for almost everyone they talk about. mostly to keep chips image clean and because trixie has a grand ol’ time coming up with them. trixie tries not to be malicious though, because she knows chip isnt a big fan of that side of her.

My brain is melting.” And it was always better to go for the energy drinks than ask randos about Adderall. He’d learned that, at least.

Trixie blinked at him. Was he really casually talking to her? Was she doing something wrong? ”Umm....are you talking to me?” she asked still confused. “I don’t really look like the kind of girl who drinks energy drinks, right?” She totally did drink energy drinks during long cram sessions, but that was only something her and her room would ever know.

“Let me guess,” Trixie started as she looked around the bar they were at before her eyes settled back on the blonde. “You couldn’t find anyone interesting to talk to at the bar, so it just happens to be my lucky day.” She smirked at him. “You could be right. I am looking for someone new to talk to. But I don’t really know if you can keep up with me.”

“aw honey, don’t pout,” trixie said, poking chip in the sides. “you’re gonna find your epic romance, just not an epic  summer one. and when you flop, i’ll date you to make you feel better.” she understood where he was coming from though. she wanted an epic love, or any love at all, a lot more than she came off. “i can’t believe the great chip skylark is moping. i mean i can believe it, but i would like to suggest it end. let’s do something fun like karaoke or let me dance to one of your jam sessions. that sounds a lot more fun, yeah?” @chippyskylark

“can’t believe after all this time I’ve still gotta prove myself to you.” he laughs when she shoves him, nudging her with his elbow in retaliation. chip smiles, sighing in content when trixie talks about how she’s enjoying it here. something in him wants to ask about what she means by no ties to home, but he doesn’t. just pleased that she seems to be in a good place. it’s all he ever wanted for her; happiness. “that’s good. i’m really happy for you.” and while he knows the sincerity of his words and genuine smile on his face might be more than what their playful relationship is used to, he does mean it and wants her to know that. “yeah no it’s…it’s different in a good way i guess.” he sighs, struggling to find the words to really express how exactly he feels about the move. “no crazy schedule to keep, significantly less stressed out. it’s been good for me so far.” chip wants to express that thus far it hasn’t been the best for his creativity but decides against it. instead he focuses on the kind of compliment she pays him. “almost?” he laughs. “I’ll take it. not many come close so i’m honored you seem to think so highly of me, i know that’s hard for you.”

“no, i just gotta give you a hard time. you’re more than good enough for me.” she knew he was happy for her and she wasn’t really used to people actual rooting for her. as popular as she was, she knew that people wanted her downfall ore than her success, which was why she was so careful about what people knew about her. she kept a lot to herself, and there was so much chip had yet to learn about him, but she was fairly certain he was going to be the only person who knows. “the lack of stress looks good on you,” she said sincerely. “but i feel like there is a catch. how’s the song writing going? has that been enlightening? are you gonna change genres? release an album in spanish?” she would hype it up, she really would. “regardless, i think corona is a good thing for us both. now that we are reunited we don’t even need to worry about home or the people left behind. i know i haven’t given most of them a second thought.”

“what other girls?” chip asks with a quiet laugh, pushing his curls out of the way as he flashes her a smile. “you know I’ve only got room for you trixie.” it’s not entirely true, chip has hung out with other girls since they’ve last seen each other and since he came to the island. but none of them come before her, and that’s something he remains firm and sure of. he gestures for her to lead the way, falling in step with her as they walk. where they’re going, he’s not entirely sure. but he knows they can find something fun to do. “so,” he begins, smile still present as he glances at her out of the corner of his eye “when you told me you were going away for college you failed to mention how far away you meant.” had he known this island was where trixie had chosen to come he wouldn’t have stalled so much on finally coming out here. he’d initially picked it because it was one of the few places he’d never been, and while being completely isolated from most everyone he knew seemed liberating and exciting he wouldn’t deny the friendly familiar face was grounding. “wanna say i would’ve assumed you’d want to go to a school in a big city but somehow, coming all the way out to a recently open to the public island seems fitting.” always ahead of the curve, that’s who trixie tang was, and it doesn’t get more exclusive and cool than this. “do you like it?”

trixie knew it wasn’t true, but she held onto his words enough anyways. she had always been one to need that confirmation of affection and that hasn’t changed. “i’m gonna make sure you hold up to that,” she said with a wink, shoving him gently. at the mentions of college she scoffed. she hadn’t really thought of it to be ahead of the game, but it really was and she loved looking like she knew that. “i like it here. i don’t have any ties to back home and it’s quieter. but not so quiet that i’m bored and going insane.” no veronica, no timmy; it was paradise in a lot of ways. even though chester liked to remind her it wasn’t perfect every now and then. “what about you? are you liking it so far? i will say you are just what this place needs. an actual talent. someone almost as cool as me.”

To Trixie, staying popular, keeping current, and being adored is a win. She thinks that if she isn’t all of that she’s a loser. There are only those who fight hard to stay on top and the losers and she refuses to be one of the losers. She works hard to be cool and keep cool and she wouldn’t let anything get in the way of that. In a perfect world she would be able to win and be herself, but to her that just isn’t possible.

Honestly she thinks being ugly is the biggest curse anyone could have. Her looks mean everything to her and she takes pride in them. Losing her looks means losing her popularity, which means losing everything she has worked so hard on and she would rather die than be ugly.

companionship, genuine and authentic in nature, is hard to come by in chip’s line of work. which, sounds bleak and downright disappointing, but chip is strangely used to it. that sounds even worse. it’s the truth of his situation, and chip has always lived firmly in it, understood that this is in fact the life that he chose. or, at least a consequence to the life he chose. but it doesn’t mean it hasn’t begun to weigh, adding pressure to already tense and tired shoulders. in fact, it’s so much pressure that he decided he needed a break. so, he comes to the island not expecting to see anyone he knows, but days into his extended vacation and his Instagram feed alerts him to something interesting and exciting. trixie tang was here for whatever reason, and even though hers is a face he hasn’t seen in years the small fact is enough to bring a smile to his own face. so chip wastes no time messaging her and setting up a time to meet. he’s practically bouncing on his toes with excitement when he approaches her waiting form. “trixie!” he calls out, enveloping her in a sideways hug before handing her one of the coffee cups in his hands. “hope you haven’t changed your drink of choice.” it’s easy, remembering little things about trixie and wanting to do something as small as bring her a drink as a show of appreciation for this. the familiar face is grounding, and Lord knows he needed that. @trixietxo

trixie really didn’t have that many genuine friends. it was hard to find them, especially since she was so popular and on people’s radar. she wasn’t a celebrity by any means but she was magnetic enough to get a crowd going wherever she went. still, she was nothing compared to chip skylark, and the fact that he thought she was cool and genuine had her at a loss of words. cool, yes. genuine? around him a lot more than everyone else. but there was still parts of her she hid, partially because she couldn’t handle the idea of the only guy she ever really gelled with hating her because she was mega dork. and after her falling out with veronica she was even more careful with who was let into that inner circle which was almost a party of one at this point. but not anymore. hugging chip back, her eyes sparkled as he mentioned her favorite drink. little details like that meant the world to her, as corny as it felt. “of course not,” she said with a grin. “i’m hoping you don’t use that line on other girls though. i’m sure they would lie and say it was because, well, you’re the one giving it to them.”

Luka lowered his head to hide his smile at the way the girl laughed so softly. It was cute - she was cute. Everyone he’d met on the island so far had been cute. He thought the question over before shrugging his shoulders in response. “Never I don’t think? I’ve been to parties and clubs, but never a rave quite like this,” he answers, hoping it doesn’t sound too lame. This type of event just wasn’t his scene - the music not his type and the energy just a bit too high for him to handle on any regular sort of basis. “That’s true. They probably planned that on purpose so that tonight doesn’t get too crazy. Smart move.”

“Really? You don’t stand out.” And she meant that as compliment. Then again, he seemed charming enough to blend in anywhere. “Like this looks like it could be your element if you wanted it to be.” She hoped she didn’t sound mean. For once she wasn’t trying to be. “For sure. They don’t wanna get the cops involved...or the sheriff. Either way,the whole thing is really peaceful which is nice. Just a lot of people having a good time and not judging each other.....it’s refreshing.”

Turning to fully face the girl beside him, Luka paused for a moment as he realized just how pretty she was. Wow. Sure he’d seen a lot of beautiful people in his life - he’d grown up in Paris, after all, and was personal friends with an actual model - but there was still something about running into new and wonderful faces that always took his breath away for a moment. He almost didn’t know what to say, he was too busy wishing he had his guitar on him right now to strum a few notes to calm his soul, but then he realizes how ridiculous he’s being. It was a simple question, one he had a genuine answer for too. “Yeah, I really am. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to one of these - wasn’t sure I still had it in me.” A small chuckle accompanies his last words.

Trixie laughed lightly. He had a really adorable smile and he seemed sweet. She honestly didn’t have the most fantastic judge of character though so she could be way off base. “How long has it been since your last rave?” She was curious now. He looked both like the rave type and nothing like it at all. “It really isn’t as insane as I thought it would be. I think everyone used most of their energy at the parade.The music is good though.”

During most parties, Luka had a tendency to sit off to the side. That is, if he even bothered to attend them at all. Usually it took Marinette or Juleka’s persuasion or he had to be booked for the event to get him to actually leave his house - neither of which had happened tonight. But it was a rave… and it was for pride… so Luka had felt like he had to show up, at least for a little while. The music wasn’t really his type of sound, but even he had to admit that jumping around in the middle of a body packed dance floor was quite cathartic. Breathing heavily, he broke away from everyone and made his way over to the bar, dropping down in one of the empty seats as he waited patiently for the bartender to notice him. “Wild night, huh?” he strikes up a conversation with the person next to him - something he rarely ever does, but the alcohol already in his system making him feel bolder than normal.

Of course Trixie was at this party. She had an image to keep and she had a lot of gay friends and even though she came alone she was sure she would find someone to keep her company. As outgoing as she could be, this really wasn’t her normal scene so she was a little quieter than usual. Which made it a lot easier for strangers to approach her or harder if they found her to be mysterious. She prayed it was the latter. She hadn’t gone out on the dance floor yet and was at the bar, drinking her beer slowly and scanning the crowd. She probably looked bored so when the handsome stranger next to her spoke she flashed him one of her signature smiles. “Very much so,” she said with a little pep in her voice. She might have felt dull until right now, but she wasn’t going to let that show. “Are you having fun though?”
